Caring Cremations really lives up to their name... "Caring." It was the most unbelievably difficult time in my family's life - I had to make arrangements for a stillborn infant, and I called 4 funeral homes about cremation and I didn't need to go any further after talking with Milos. Milos was so kind and patient, and truly caring as he answered all of my questions and provided me information and guidance when I called in the middle of the night. He made the most difficult task imaginable rather simple. He and his staff (Vivian and Armando) bent over backwards to help my family through a devastating time. My overall experience was a good one. The only issues that I had were some of the callbacks from the staff were slow one issue I received consistently from our family and friends was when they opening the book the first thing you saw was your advertisement (do you want to purchase this, and that confused a lot of people. I understand you want to sell that service, but there should be a bigger button that people see rather than huge advertisement and unfortunately they were people who backed out of it, who didn't leave any remembrance because they saw they advertisement that you had. I cannot recommend Caring Cremations enough. First of all, Milos is so KIND and takes his time going over what you need, and listens to you. He was a calming voice and this was critical during an incredibly difficult time. He is so patient and understanding, and really has a heart of service. Also, I should mention that while the business is called Caring Cremations, they are not limited to only cremations. Milos did a full Greek Orthodox service for my father-in-law. Not only did he meet our expectations but vastly exceeded them. My father-in-law looked like he was merely sleeping and he looked like himself (I've been to funerals where the deceased looked very different). While my father-in-law did not pass from COVID-19, we were impacted by the effects of the virus. That being said, Milos made the experience as loving and respectful as possible. From the big things, like the casket, to the little things like prayer cards everything was done with exceeding care. The costs were exponentially less than many others in the Chicago land area. I could not understand why it was such a great difference in price, but Milos assured me that the costs were because he actually CARES and wants people to be able to afford to give their loved ones a burial they deserve without incurring a mountain of debt. I was leery of this at first, concerned that everything might be "cheap" looking, but it was incredibly beautiful, lovely, and exactly how we would have liked it to have been. If you are in the Chicago land area and you need a full burial service I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Milos and Caring Cremations. You will not regret your decision, and neither will your pocketbook. read more

Our experience with Caring Cremations and Vivian was absolutely stellar! We decided to go with their Cremation with Visitation package and Vivian moved quickly to have it all ready within 48 hrs to accommodate family that was here from out of town. She was patient, kind, and most of all extremely responsive. She even went out of her way to continuously call Stroger Hospital when they wouldn't release the remains of our loved one. Despite it all, she was able to put together a beautiful service for our loved one, including a lovely tribute video composed of over 250 images and videos. The funeral home is large and very clean. The lounge/kitchen area is small but served it's purpose. I highly recommend Caring Cremations and doubt our family will ever go anywhere else for future arrangements needed. I needed to help my wife arrange for an direct cremation for my brother in law. We are from out of state and were not able to be physically present for the arrangements. Recently, my brother made his transition and I needed to have him cremated. I did a lot of research and funeral homes charge a lot for cremations. They charge approximately $2000 and the cremation society were asking about $1800. During my research I came across Caring Cremations and another service that charged about the same price, but after talking with Milos at Caring Cremations I decided to use their services. Milos was so kind and easy to talk to. He was patient and answered all my questions. After a loss you want to talk to someone that truly understands your needs. We arrived just over 30 min early, aware that we couldn't enter until 9:30 because that is what we were told previously. Eventually, an individual came out and was obviously upset with us. He said something similar to "services don't start til 10 why are you here, you can't be loitering in the parking lot." We explained that we were asked to be there 30 min early. He started mumbling something that sounded like fine whatever and opened the door, then immediately went into an office and closed the door. We sat in what we figured was the waiting room for more direction. About 15 min later he came out and said "are you guys waiting for someone or something? What are you doing? She's ready." Which how would we have known that? He said "the funeral director should've explained everything to you." I will say- his attitude and tone was extremely rude and condescending. I asked him why he would speak to grieving people in such a matter? Again, in few words he explained it wasn't his job to direct us, it was someone else's. I explained that this wasn't the case (which with visitation you pay for a funeral director to "direct"- do their job) and that he needs to explain the process. He sighed and said "Ok. This is a funeral home. Your loved one is dead." I stopped him from speaking because it was quite atrocious. After this, he was not involved. Not because we did not ask him to. WE had to figure out how to turn the mic on. We had to ask him to turn on a TV with a photo montage that we had planned to be running when we got there. When we asked him to help us he seemed angry and as if we were putting HIM out. This completely ruined our experience. During a time where things are hard and sad, and people are crying, this made it SO much worse. If you want a visitation that is not filled with added negativity, stress, and anger, do NOT use their services. read more
