After our friend passed away at home recently & they had used Neptune, we investigated their services. We were at our neighbor's home that evening and thru the entire process with Neptune .... they are very understanding and compassionate! The online information they provide is outstanding & comprehensive plus the representative who visited was excellent. Obviously, we purchased our creamation services from them and are very happy they have world-wide coverage because we do travel quite a bit. At the memorial service yesterday for our friend, Neptune assisted with the Honor Guard, which was extremely moving for everyone. Neptune had to transfer my wife from another facility. They tried to get that fee waived but were not able to do so. Always call Neptune directly, using your paperwork. i bought my plan in nov 2020 while living in rockford. the cremation & viewing by family site was nearby in a funeral home in belvidere. ( 15 minutes) then it changed to one closer in rockford. ( 10 minutes) i just moved to huntley, il del webb sun city .. & was just told the only !! only !! location is in forest park... over an hour away.!! is that the best you, neptune can do ?? if i knew that back in 2020 .. i never would have signed with you. too hard on family. darn you neptune. read more

I was so glad that we prepaid my husband's cremation with the Neptune Society. When I got the call from the nursing home that they were doing CPR, I remembered to grab his wallet on the way out. When I got there and they confirmed he was gone and asked what I wanted to do I simply handed them his membership card. I was then able to go home and know everything would be taken care of . It was also a comfort for the last 12 years while he was still traveling to know that if something happened while we were in another state I wouldn't have to think about what to do. We competitively priced the preplan option with current at-need pricing for a direct cremation and the prices are competitive. They also offer a true 30 day money back guarantee in case you get buyers' remorse or find a better option. Louisa did a great job of describing the plan, and the options available. She helped guide us through the paperwork and made it simple. Hopefully, we won't need to use the plan for a lllooonnnggg time, but it's nice to know it's there. read more

I had received an offer in the mail for an estimate from the Neptune Society. since it had been my plan to have a cremation anyway I decided to send in the offer and have the rep come over to my home and we could talk about it. the representative / salesman Jim was spot on time and had all the information at his fingertips. This is NOT a complicated process. You can get the basic plan which covers you within 75 miles of your home and you can add a supplemental for under a grand that covers you WHEREVER you may wind up when the time comes. The agreements are simple, short and straight forward. If you can read quickly it is possible to read the whole agreement right then and there. No legal mumbo jumbo just common sense stuff. You give them your basic information like who to contact and other personal info. it's a one page deal. I paid right then and there. Simpler for me. You can pay overtime or use a credit card. The representative, Jim was the star of the show. Very friendly and not pushy, explained everything very precisely. Jim left contact information which I can use to make changes to my next of kin information or address changes, etc. I will be getting a permanent membership card which has a large phone number emblazoned on the front for my wallet. It brings you a lot of comfort to know that these things are taken care of in advance and will cover you anywhere you travel. They can send the urn to wherever you designate. If you choose you can pay a cemetery separately to bury your ashes and have a nice headstone installed for anyone who may want something to visit. My mom did just that. Everything went smoothly. Even though my deceased loved one lived in a state without a Neptune facility, Neptune worked with the local funeral home to do the cremation. I was able to get fairly quick responses from Monica, the Neptune director. The only thing that was surprising was that she said she'd call me when the cremation was to take place but did not. Perhaps, the local funeral home did not call her. When I called and left a message about whether they were getting ready to cremate, She called me back and left a v.m. saying it had already happened. So, I felt a little sad to know my loved one was not a body anymore. I mostly think that we leave our bodies, our shells, after death, but still felt a little unsettled for a few minutes.I also did sign something on the okay form that said the cremation would be at any time convenient to the facility. I am grateful to my loved one for arranging this 10 years ago as It was nice not have to spend a lot of money on a funeral. All I had to pay was the state fee and the cost of the death certificates. Just got a call/vm from "Chris" from this place. He/she was probably staffed with cold-calling people to pre-sell funeral arrangements and grave plots (a total guess here - Black Friday deals on your future funeral!), since considering all he/she did was say their name/business name and to "please call them back" without leaving any other info such as WHY I should call them back. ProTip: don't leave vague messages when cold-calling people. Leave me a reason to call you back, such as the nature of your business and why I should be interested. Please stick to cold-calling folks in the NW 'burbs; as a Chicagoan I'll have no reason to subject my surviving friends to a drive all the way out to Palatine to weep over my embalmed corpse. read more

I contacted the Neptune Society some months ago as my father was close to death. They didn't email or call me back at the time. Months later, after he's long since passed away, they auto-call every day, sometimes twice. I have asked them to take me off their marketing list. They promised it would be done, multiple times, and that I would receive no further calls, and I kept believing them. There was a pause around Memorial Day. Today I received another call. I think 1) the kind of organization that ignores you for months after you make a simple request for information, and then 2) relentlessly robo-dials you every day, hanging up or disregarding your requests = 3) the kind of organization you shouldn't do business with. Certainly, they don';t have respect for the living or the dead. I believe the other post wherein some senior citizens were sold products they didn't need. I can just imagine it. I think the management of this organization should collectively utilize it's own services ASAP. read more
