Got up early to stop here on my way to work for a Soufflé and Latte with Nutmeg. Much to my surprise, even though there were no customers, there was also no soufflés of any kind and for some reason again, they had no nutmeg for the coffee. Latte had no caramel flavor and was not sweet at all even though I asked for it to be made with honey. Also, they've changed their sandwiches, before we could get an over medium unscrambled egg. I asked for a round egg and got a scrambled one. The counter person said they didn't know what I meant by a round egg. All in all, disappointing especially as I had gotten up early to stop there and there were no other customers but one of their most items(the soufflés), had not even been started. Kitchen unoccupied.

It was busy today, but we ordered easily on the tablets. They were out of plastic drink cups but we just used the paper ones for coffee. The food was good, although expensive for quick dining. I had the tomato soup and veggie sandwich. Both yummy. I especially liked the lemon drop cookie.

I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel with an extra egg. You can see in the picture what I got and how ridiculous this looks for $7. The portions at bread co are very little for a high price. I'm pretty disappointed in this.

Solid salad options here... We like the U pick 2 (half salad and half sandwich) Fave salad: Fuji apple chicken. Just the right blend of field greens, cheese, crispy dried apples and lovely dressing. Turkey bravo and BLT w/ avocado sandwiches are yummy too. If you order a U pick 2 with beverage, a baked treat is only an extra 99 cents.

Honestly, the 2 soups I tried the other night are still on my mind and I am trying to figure out how to have them again! How can I re-create them? How can I purchase a gallon of them? I cannot wait for the next pop up! When we went to The Vandy the other night for some cocktails, we knew that Soul Soup would be on the scene serving up 2 different soups for us to try (The High Life and Thai Me Up). The menu was posted on Angie's Insta page a few days in advance of the pop up (see photo of the menu) and I just knew we had to try them both! When we arrived and placed our cocktail orders, we also asked for a bowl of each of the soups to try and when they were brought out the table, they were piping hot and smelled so good! I was happy to know that rather than adding in the bacon to the High Life, they could serve it on the side so that my dining partner could enjoy the bacon while I just wanted to enjoy the soup with the pretzel bites no bacon! Two bowls of soup was a perfect amount for the 2 of us to share and when we were finished, Angie came out of the kitchen to meet some of the customers - it was so nice to meet Angie and she is seriously so friendly! I will keep my eyes peeled to her Insta to see when and where she will be next and you should too! It's soup season and if you want some of the best soup in STL, this is the place to find!

It's a great place for friends or family or alone too. They to takeout as well or order delivery. The ingredient selection is really impressive and very vegetarian friendly. Everything looked fresh and they refill often. There are also lots of soup base options to choose from plus a stir fry option if you want to mix it up. The make your own sauce station is a great touch too. The staff works incredibly fast at turning tables and keeping everything clean. They only have one bathroom (it's clean) so just be aware for wait times. They also give you one free rice bowl which is a small but good bonus. There's a good amount of seating though I've heard the line goes out the door on weekends. Overall I really loved this place and I am already looking forward to coming back.

This was my first experience at a hot pot by the pound restaurant. I've only been to all you can…read moreeat hot pot restaurants, so I was excited to try this place out. Apparently, I wasn't the only one because this place got packed by 6p on a weekday! The line was out the door. It can be a little confusing for a first time goer as you enter the place and grab a bowl to select the ingredients you want to eat. The minimum weight that you have to buy is 0.9 lbs, but you really won't know how much your bowl weighs until you get up to the cashier and put it on the scale. My bowl was underweight my first time through, so I went back to grab more ingredients. If I had to guess the minimum cost for a 0.9 lb bowl, it's probably about $16, which is a pretty good price for a hot pot. My bowl weighed about 0.97 and it was way more than I could comfortably eat. The next decision you have to make after you have selected your ingredients is the base and spicy level. I went with #1 Oil splash spicy soup at medium spice level. Now, I enjoy spicy foods, but this was at the upper limit of enjoyability. Although tasty, I think the oil in the broth got to be too much and I will want to try a different base next time. After you pay for your food, you get a number which you take to a table of your choosing and wait for your bowl to come out (they cook it for you). There is a drinking water station next to the free rice station, which was around the corner from the complimentary pickled vegetable station. Overall, positive experience and I would return for more. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

The amount you receive for the price though is unfortunate. A cup of soup seems to be measured in dry cups which is about 3/4 of a liquid cup. One of the soups was also served in the same container as the chicken salad which seemed odd. The chicken salad portions, which are stated as 2-3 people, are most certainly not and very confusing. But the rating was based on the service. I ordered online so human contact was minimal but couldn't have gone worse. I had a pickup time and arrived right on time. I waited patiently as a customer ahead of me struggled with an employee as he ordered with rewards. After he completed his order, I was left standing as staff walked around and chatted with each other. Then they returned to the cash register and were discussing something amongst themselves. After what I imagine to be 5-10 minutes, an employee finally asked if I needed something. I said "I placed an online order to be picked up 10 minutes ago." The employee responded that they thought I had already received my food. Why would anyone be standing at the counter waiting? For assistance, obviously. It shouldn't matter if someone had received their food already or not. In my case, I had not. But if a customer is standing at the counter, please acknowledge them. I wont be back.

We phone it in from the road and pick it up hot and fresh before we even get home. Frankly, it's all we really want when we don't know what to eat (travel or not). We dine at plenty of other Vietnamese restaurants (along with Thai, Korean, Chinese and Taiwanese) so I believe we're qualified to compare St. Louis' Asian offerings. While DD might not have the largest menu, it's a variety of well-executed favorites: beef, chicken and vegan pho, banh mi sandwiches, fresh springs rolls (the shrimp rolls are excellent), crispy Vietnamese egg rolls, fried rice, vermicelli bowls with a choice of protein and sauces, and more. Something for everyone. Well-seasoned and a lot of it. I'm partial to the pho combo with a surprising amount of meat. My wife is stuck on the vermicelli bowls and vegan lemon grass soup. Prices are very reasonable, too. We've been fans of DD since they opened in Old Dwntwn Webster about eight years ago and are delighted with the new location on Big Bend near Webster U. Big, bright, contemporary space. Great for families. And a good place for kids to try their first Vietnamese food. Parking can be challenging in their small lot but there's usually plenty of street and other nearby lots across Big Bend. Try it. Enjoy.

The pond with the waterfall, all the birds singing in the trees, strands of lights and potted flowers and it really brought a sense of calm and let you relax without feeling rushed. First, let's talk service. Our waitress worked very hard tonight. She was present and attentive and patient. Offered to change out utensils for clean ones which was a lovely touch. But all the staff helped each other with removing plates and making guests feel welcome. Second, the food. The starter salad hit all those notes with being fresh and crisp. I had the Caesar and they could've tossed lettuce in a bowl with scant dressing. If a starter looks and tastes this good, is a big indication the rest of the meal will, too. And the beef gnocchi delivered! The beef was medium rare and were tender and melted in your mouth. The gnocchi were silky pillows resting in a drinkable herbaceous creamy pesto. The right amount of blistered tomatoes to cut through all that fatty richness. Wonderful! Everyone else in my party had nothing but great things to say for each of their dishes and there was a resounding agreement of having another visit and dinner here in the fall. Just as we concluded, and dessert was offered, only two were going with a slice of key lime pie and somehow learning of the connection with the recipe and the owner, everyone at the table got a slice! Thank you for hosting us! Lovely patio area. We look forward to visiting you all again!
