This place has it all! Good drink and spectacular food. The wings are the best in the area. They make sure they are crisp and tasty. They are very upfront that wing orders take 30 minutes so plan accordingly. I would recommend any of the dry rubs but the salt and vinegar wings are amazing. St. James has great sandwiches. This is a fantastic place to watch a game and enjoy amazing food!

Saint James Irish Pub is located in downtown Fall River with metered street parking. I was looking for a burger meal and found it here. It's located downstairs from the street level so it's dark down there with no windows but has a typical sports bar look and feel to it. I ordered the Jucy Lucy burger that comes with fries for $9. The food arrived about 10 minutes later. The burger looked small but was actually quite thick and filling. It was cheesy and very tasty and I enjoyed it. The fries were hand cut and a gorgeous dark brown. They were quite good tasting with plenty of flavor and a quality not typically seen from a bar. Finally at $9 a real deal and the table service was friendly. I like this pub. The food is very good here and it looks like a nice place to hang out.

Seems like a good spot to be during a patriots game. I can imagine how alive it'll be. The decor has an old neighborhood bar vibe. The space is dimly lit. I was craving wings and found this place. They have their own flavors and spices. The wings were fried nicely, crispy yet still juice. Service on this day was a bit slow but the waiter Let me know that they were behind a little. During service they had some technical difficulties, no fault of their own. I'll be back to try their other flavors.

Classic Fall River Spot This unique Irish pub is located in a basement, but don't let that fool you. The atmosphere is great, cold drinks and hot food. Try one of their 5 different levels of hot wings or the Juicy Lucy Hamburger. Wife ordered a delicious pastrami sandwich. They usually 9 or 10 draft beers on tap and a great bar staff. Great spot to watch a game or run the jukebox. Thanks

Half priced wings (secret sauce garlic parm mixed with one of their buffalo flavors), buffaque and Asian sticky with fries with Cajun rub

St James is one of those iconic places in Fall River! Basement Irish pub with the best wings in the city hands down. Staff is always friendly to give suggestions and definitely not your typical restaurant, has even a countdown to st pattys day every year! Definitely a place to check out as they have monthly specials for rubs for wings/fries and a burger of the month! Live music and plenty of TVs to catch your favorite game

Sports bar with very good wings. Everyone told us to try them and they were amazing. They have lots of different sauces to try from and we got a few on the side. All of them were amazing. Great place to watch the game as well with lots of TVs. Has a sports bar vibe but the food looked good. Service was not over friendly but was quick. Large bar area!

It is a seat yourself restaurant. The waitstaff was greeted us quickly, and immediately took our drink and food order. Our drink and appetizer got to us quickly . The beers and cocktails here are cheaper than almost anywhere I have been recently. The wings here are as great as everyone says. I got the O'Neil which is in the middle of the heat range of the Buffalo sauces . It was the perfect amount of heat for me. It slightly gave me a burning sensation on my lips but it also had great flavor with the heat. The wings were also a nice size , really juicy with lots of meat. Even though they were drenched in Buffalo Sauce it's coating still had that crispy crunch.

Molasses and Burbon Wings and Rotisserie Sweet and Spicy. You will NOT go wrong!

Thank God for you. It was hard to find a drink in this town on a Thursday night. Unfortunately the bartender only gave last call to one side of the bar. Looks like they should cough up the cash and hire some help or have the waitress to do more work. read more

Still the best burgers and chips (or fries). This month they have a Lent special going on, do it!!! $9.99 for fried shrimp? Awesome. Fish. Scallops. Burgers. WINGS are good. Really doing something right now. Full bar. Can't speak to the entertainment, never seem to catch it, but we try to go "off-hours" and avoid crowds anyway. Visited on Saturday 2-April-16. Can't say much more than the several previous yelpers have said, just wanted to make sure this place receives another 4-star vote. Wanting a burger and a pint for dinner and not wanting to go to the same old places the wife and I decided to give St James a try. They pour a mean Guinness here(as you would expect in an Irish Pub). We had a burger, chicken sandwich, Buffalo wings, House Fries and Sweet Potato fries. Everything was tasty, this is a nice little out of the way pub. We sat at the bar and the service was so good we ended up staying for longer than we planned. They have live music on the weekends too. While I wouldn't say it's a place to go if you are looking for an upscale dining experience it is well worth the trip if you are looking for a good drink and some pub grub. I know we will definitely be going back again... maybe next week. read more

While visiting nearby family we lost track of time and then realized almost NO PLACE was open for a decent meal. The Pub not only serves better-than-average food and attracts a pleasant crowd (many from the nearby hospital), we received first-rate (eager, thoughtful) service by a lovely waitress. My partner and I really enjoyed two of their famous burgers (just follow the menu -- it's easy) and other extras (onion rings, other standard appetizers) and were impressed by the selection of beers. Haven't been here for a while, but didn't want to drive to Dorchester for a proper trip to the Eire. Should have known things were not destined for greatness when someone who looked like the owner said, "you lookin for me?" No. And thanks for giving a customer such a wide berth. Not! Guinness? Yes. Proper pour. But after an extended round of F.bombs from the management like I wasn't there and a half hour wait for a cup of chowder, I dug into a styrofoam cup of something without much in the way of clams, potatoes or anything else. I'm sure this place has better in it, but it wasn't to be on this day. Next time, Dorchester. read more

I had quite a few other $20 lobster rolls specials this summer. The amount of lobster that they give you for $20, and being able to pick your side is one of the best deals around. Not to mention the quality of the food for the $20. My Caesar salad was absolutely delicious too! I ordered the boneless wings and they were very tasty. I didn't particularly like my cocktail (it had fig liqueur in it) and the waiter was super nice and took it off the bill. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was amazing. Must have this again, I will literally go back just for this. The next time was on a Wednesday night and they had martini specials. I had a espresso martini to start and it was okay - tasted on the weaker side. I don't like the glasses they serve the martinis in, they are stemless and seem to not hold as much alcohol. It was packed as they were having some type of Halloween karaoke, which we didn't know about. Our waitress was a bit hard to get ahold of and she moved very quickly without making sure everyone at the table had what they needed which was a bit off putting. She was nice but not the most attentive. They made me a drink based on some preferences (blood orange, gin, lime, soda water) I gave them, but I asked that it come with no ice. It is pictured in this review, and unfortunately did come with quite a lot of ice. They apparently only have two cocktail glasses - the ugly stemless martini glasses and a margarita glass. That's really surprising for a bar that has a full cocktail menu because the glassware really doesn't suit a lot of the cocktails being served. That drink was fine but also tasted pretty weak. They always decorate based on the holiday and it looked really cool with jack o lanterns everywhere, and a lit fireplace. This is definitely a bar you go to for the atmosphere, not the drinks. I would go back for the sticky toffee pudding and sit upstairs, but the drinks were a major disappointment both times.

We had to explain that Piccata was a sauce with capers; again, she didn't know what capers were. Fortunately, the kitchen understood the order & my friend received the correct dish. Unfortunately, the ends of the salmon were dry & inedible. However, she did enjoy most of the fish & the sides (mashed & veg), and there was enough to bring home. She also had a cider cocktail which, with the sugared rim, was a little too sweet. She would have liked a bit more cider, too. I had the patty melt with sweet potato fries. The service is always friendly. This time, they had a new special that made me post this review. It was seared scallops, served over a smoky corn puree with BACON and heirloom tomatoes. I have had many dishes at the common pub, but this one was my favorite. The scallops were large, tender, and beautifully seared. The corn puree was not overly smoky but full of flavor, and the bacon added the flavor only bacon can. Best of all, this huge dish was $26. That is expensive for the Common Pub, but this dish would have been much more expensive anywhere else. If you haven't tried it yet, you are truly missing out.

The menu said the burger is 11.99 and comes with cheese, but it was rung up as 13.99 plus 50 cents for cheese. (This is the case with both the online menu and the IRL menu.) They have a few games going on the TVs. There's a pool table in the back as well. Service was slow (I think they might be understaffed?) but the waitress was very friendly! The people sitting around were friendly and the set up is a good one. Horseshoe shaped bar with 15 seats the place is much nicer than what it looks like from the outside and much bigger than I thought . Great little spot has small bar menu and specials. Jukebox, booths to sit in and a pool table. Oh and keno. We started with the famous Bloody Mary. I couldn't believe what I saw when it was finished. Also made some nice breakfast shots and mimosas. Before writing this review I decided to read a few of the posts already posted and these are my findings. 1 waitresses are rude and can't be bothered if you aren't their friend. Socializing with friends is more important than good customer service. 2. Wings aren't consistent 3 owner's behavior is questionable towards women. I'm glad I took the time to read because I'm relieved that I wasn't the only person that felt this way. Once upon a time St James was the place to go and have a good time and make memories. Sad to say that St James no longer exists. I watched a waitress spend a lot of attention to customers that I will assume are her friends (by the hugs and lap seating she did) but what was truly bothering is the shots and alcohol drinks she continued to serve them. Clearly these customers were way beyond drunk. One of the customers the waitress was hugging, kissing, and sitting in their lap I meet up with outside having a cigarette. This person couldn't even get into their vehicle. Stumbling. Because I work EMS and care about people especially innocent people I stepped out of my car and asked him if he want to smoke a cigarette with me. He couldn't complete a thought, swaying back and forth absolutely should not drive. I offered him a ride, told him I'd drive him home in his car and walk back to mine and he refused. So I did the only thing a person that cares about human lives could do and called the police. From what I saw at this place it is a tragedy waiting to happen. I'm not sure about the MA laws regarding serving alcohol but I'm sure your not suppose to serve til the customer can't walk and then let them leave to go drive home. I hope he got home safe but most importantly I hope the irresponsibility of him and St James didn't cause an innocent family to suffer a horrible preventable tragedy. I will not be going there again and have spoken to my FRPD friends. No life should be taken senseless. read more

I love going to this pub! It's the perfect size and the set up with the big hi-def TV screens is great for watching all the games. Oh...by the way...the beers are not only delicious, but the tap selection is TRULY fantastic! The staff is very friendly, especially "Melissa" the bartender, and there are no issues or idiots to disrupt things at this place. I heard the food is really good too but I personally go here for beers, not food. Well worth visiting and frequenting!! read more

The owner is an ignorant douche bag who practices cultural as well as racial profiling. He makes inappropriate judgments bases of his personal feelings and has no customer service skills. I have gone there as a friend of a friend who like the place and has been a patron for over 15 years I have been there many times with out incident and tonight I got to meet the owner. I will never set foot in that squalid basement of bar ever again. Done. read more

Our server was a girl named Tay. She was on her phone and inattentive. She took forever to get refills. We had to raise our hands just to get tended to!! Excellent bar with an authentic atmosphere. The bartender, Patricia is very friendly and real; it's not just a put-on personality to get tips like in many other bars. The food is also outstanding and very reasonably priced. The chef, Paul Burns, is one of the best and, all in all, St. James Irish Pub is one of the best bars in the city. read more

The service was terrific, with our waitress being very friendly and helpful. The beer selection was OK, nothing to write home about and a little unusual for a Pub. But the ones they did have were decent. Our food was fantastic. We had Scallops and Tuna with their secret sauce, which was outstanding. Definitely try their wedge fries.....very good and a lot of them. Not a huge coleslaw fan, but they have one that has a real nice kick to it. Try that as well. The only reason for 4 verses 5 stars was the list of things they didn't have on a Friday night. Things that you would assume are staples on their menu, were unavailable. Just kind of odd and not really sure what it means. And these items weren't anything we wanted, so no harm no foul. But still.... Try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Why isn't there a bartender on? Servers are taking orders and making their down drinks. STOP USING THE POURERS to measure alcohol! Not a good look when a customer watches your drink being made with those. Staff does not wear a uniform either.. zits just odd. And we wonder why the bar is always empty! I will say, There was a decent woman in her 40's working there for a few weeks on Saturday nights . She was wonderful!, and could actually make a drink! I haven't seen her in months. I can't lie, one evening we couldn't help but watch her try to pretty much jug the entire restaurant and make everyone's drinks because the other staff were clueless. One waitress was working with a surgical boot on her foot that went all the way up to her knee! Talk about a Liability! . I haven't seen that other server there in quite some time. I could only guess that she took her experience elsewhere. She was way too overqualified to be working in that establishment. She could handle that entire restaurant by herself. . Either that, or she ran out that restaurant door because she saw how the place was run! It's unfortunate because the food is delicious. But we just can't go there anymore. It's a nightmare.
