I've been going to this restaurant 1-2x a week for the past couple of months and I'm sick and tired…read moreof their bullshit. I take my orders to go as I live 15 minutes away and I had to drive back because my food was inedible TWICE in the last 3 weeks. The first time, one of the employees put about an inch of relish on my burger, making it a soggy mess. The second time, my burger was raw (the entire inside of the patty was pink). The first time, the employee (blonde ladie, maybe a manager) offered me a refund and a new burger, I declined the refund since mistakes can happen and they were very apologetic. The second time, they just made me a new burger without offering me a refund (different employee this time) I would have actually taken a refund this time because I was very pissed off. But hey, I guess I should be grateful that I got a new burger with my (now cold) poutine, and having wasted an hour driving back and forth. Especially for $25. How does a restaurant get away with being this inconsistent? When the food is good, it's great, but it's subpar 20% of the time, and 5-10% of the time it's inedible. For this price point, this is absolutely unacceptable. They lost me as a customer.

At 7:39 I called the resto and the person who answered said my food was sitting there for 5 mins. How is it ready for 5 mins when it was suppose to be delivered at 7:35/7:45?!?! The uber driver changed 3 times because you guys were still preparing my food. As you guys called me to see if I still wanted the order or not. One hostess on the phone said There was a misunderstanding with the food and laughed a little. We're in a time where every restaurant needs customers. You should let the customer have a bad taste in their mouth. You should be doing something to compensate for the mistake. This is the second time. I would rather drive DT and get my food than order from you again. On top of everything my food was so filled to the top the sauce spilled in the bag and when I too lit out it spilled all over my table.

The chicken is amazing! Spicy and juicy and so crunchy! The chicken came with a little coleslaw, kimchi and pickled daikon. The kimchi fried rice was so good! I got it for my husband and ended up eating half of it. Everything here is a little spicy, a little fish saucey (in a good way) and really flavorful! So happy to have a place like this on the south shore. And this week I learned it is just as good to take out as it is to eat in!

La Mecque Du Hambourgeois is an interesting hamburger/bistro restaurant to visit. Their…read morespeciality is hamburger patties made from beef aged 45 days, kept in freezer and minced on the day just before opening hours. They serve the hamburger : blue, rare, medium rare or well done. We ordered 4 hamburgers, all rare: Classic La Mecque (cheddar, La Mecque sauce and pickle) Umami (cambozola blue cheese, onions marinated in butter and white wine, and truffle mayo Raclette (cheese Raclette in Quebec beer, Mushroom duxell, tarragon mayo. Steak Tomate ( roasted heirloom tomato, Parmesan, mayo and horseradish) The common denominator in all the 4 hamburgers is cheese, each of different flavour variation, but all centred on a specific cheese, which takes most of the control of your taste buds. While we all ordered rare, it was more towards the end of spectrum in terms of cooking. We should have probably ordered blue, to start with. The hamburgers came with pickled cabbage, and formed a cool combination. Fries loaded with Parmesan and garlic are ordered separately. This isn't just a burger; it's a powerful, meaty experience amplified by truly dominant waves of intensely flavored cheese, bold and unapologetic, demanding your attention with every single bite. Atmosphere was casual and not so loud that we can communicate without shouting. Inside was not super bright as all the lights were pretty much dim to create an ambiance. Street parking was plentiful at the time we arrived. Service was fast, professional and pleasant. Washroom was relatively clean, with auto paper dispenser but wished this automation would have extended to water faucet and soap as well. Our group of 4 were unanimous on: Nice first time unique experience but somewhat pricey to be a regular at $40 all in, per person for one burger each and one fries shared by 4. And the cook was too heavy handed on the salt.

Came into this hot spot at 1030 at night, with a odd configuration of a line up, due to tables being everywhere, the line up absolutely moves quickly, do not worry. The staff were among the most friendly, comedic and jovial I've experienced in what feels like forever, even at this time at night, placed my order and then was sent down the counter line. My order took a bit longer then others, as everything was freshly made, and my meal involved chicken, I was asked my toppings, as the chicken was cooking and other people got food, at this point my poutine was ready, so I was taking some stray fries that didn't need a fork while waiting. When I got my food and sat down with my crew, the world stood still, while I was eating the combined poutine/wrap, to the point where I was burning my mouth, consuming the food in the process. Very good, very delicious, atmosphere is great, I can imagine the seating would fill up quick during high traffic food hours. if/when in Montréal next, would go out of my way to come back here.

We ordered to-go at around 10:15pm and the food was ready for pick up 25 min later. My favorites were La Porc Effiloché and La Montréalaise. The maple bbq sauce in La Porc Effiloché was chef's kiss! I'm not a fan of cheese blocks, so their classic La Frite Alors was my #3, but still very good. Well, let's fix that issue now! I was in Montreal in April 2015 for a few days. On Easter Day, I needed to get some lunch. I saw that Jarry Smoked Meat was open and walked in. It wasn't too busy. I got a table immediately. I ordered Jarry's special platter. It consists of a smoked meat sandwich, with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. I went with medium fat content on the smoked meat. Hey, when in Montreal, go with flavour and the best smoked meat! I absolutely loved my sandwich. The smoked meat was flavourful, tender, juicy,... oh my gosh, I can't stop drooling as I write this review. You get a generous amount of meat in your sandwich. The bread was fresh and delicious. The fries and coleslaw were yummy. It was the perfect plate to have for lunch. I can't recall whether I had a Diet Coke or Pepsi. I do remember washing my meal down with a drink. I didn't have any issues parking. I like that this place is open 24 hours a day, year-round. This thankful hungry gal was happy as can be that day. I would love to try the other items on the menu a try when I am in Montreal again. (221)
