Duck ramen is for two. Would come back bi-weekly for it if i could. My kids even loved it. Wow. The duck and ramen come with bok choy, amazing smoked scallops, fried flayed shrimps, and a wonderful sweet and sour miso. Tomato salad was with tomatillos, peaches, goat cheese...goodness... just go for it!! Thought fidua was just ok, until we added a bunch of pepper and it came alive...still not amazing...think the Spanish chef was out because our waiter said something about it when I told him it wasn't living up to the amazing duck and the tomato app. Note: We didn't like the tuna appetizer much, also were not wild about the sun-dried tomato fried calamari app (too sweet), but the fantastic wine suggested (2015 Luberon - Rhone) and the warm crisp baguette made up for it. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and lovely to boot. The room was cool...dark with wood, blue light , and silver tin...the boxing match was silently playing on the tv behind the bar/open kitchen which meant there was always something to look at. Lastly, I love classic rock and thats what they played...great spot for me and my fam

Finally we got to our table; the waitress (who looked like a lost puppy)showed up 15 minutes later to take our drinks order, meantime no water glasses have been served. Another 15-20 minutes later, drinks have arrived. We place our orders for for dishes, plus we asked for water, since it wasn't coming automatically. I believe we waited for our main dish about 40 minutes, so I loosing patience, therefore I decided that my father should open his gifts now. Most my family were satisfied with their food. I had the salmon tartare, all the ingredients were good except it was soaked with too much of mayonnaise. Since it's my dad's birthday, we asked for desert, immediately my mom was regretting the desert because she knew it will be really long before it would show up and yes it did come 20 minutes later. I know the restaurant was super busy. When the restaurant offers special on Sundays, I believe staffing should be increased. Due to lack of good service; we couldn't enjoy the family dinner. Massively disappointing.

You won't be going here to enjoy the decor. We were lucky enough to be seated immediately. It did require us to ask waiters for the menu and wave 1 by in order to get our order. It took approx 30-45 minutes before the food arrived at our table. Once the food arrived, the presentation was nice. But most importantly the food was more than I expected. I ordered the grilled chicken. It comes with salad and a side of fries. Grilled in a charcoal grill, very evenly. A lot of flavor without any excessive use of salt. My wife had the mixed seafood platter and was most impressed by the calmari. Piece of advice for those who would want to try this place. Make a reservation.

We ordered for the first time through Uber Eats - it seems this restaurant does not offer their own…read moredelivery as their website menu redirects you to Uber. We tried a large chicken poutine and a piri piri chicken sandwich. Unfortunately both items were very disappointing. The sandwich was supposed to be "deluxe" as we paid a bit more to have lettuce, cheese and tomato however the slices for each of these were so paper thin we could barely taste it. It felt very cheap. Although the chicken was tender, it wasn't super flavorful, it lacked marinade and we found the bun to be dry and just too thick for this type of sandwich. The poutine wasn't great either- portion was OK but the sauce was watery, had no flavor and the chicken shreds were tasteless as well. Everything needed seasoning and for the price paid through Uber we found this to be very overpriced and not worth it.

At 7:39 I called the resto and the person who answered said my food was sitting there for 5 mins. How is it ready for 5 mins when it was suppose to be delivered at 7:35/7:45?!?! The uber driver changed 3 times because you guys were still preparing my food. As you guys called me to see if I still wanted the order or not. One hostess on the phone said There was a misunderstanding with the food and laughed a little. We're in a time where every restaurant needs customers. You should let the customer have a bad taste in their mouth. You should be doing something to compensate for the mistake. This is the second time. I would rather drive DT and get my food than order from you again. On top of everything my food was so filled to the top the sauce spilled in the bag and when I too lit out it spilled all over my table.

The chicken is amazing! Spicy and juicy and so crunchy! The chicken came with a little coleslaw, kimchi and pickled daikon. The kimchi fried rice was so good! So happy to have a place like this on the south shore. And this week I learned it is just as good to take out as it is to eat in!

We have been going to Chez Doval for so many years I can't even remember. Back in the day I felt…read morelike it was one of the fancier places we would visit, but now it seems like charmingly retro - even though it hasn't changed at all. There used to be more places like this on the plateau but not anymore. Thankfully Chez Doval is still hanging in there and doing it old school. Like a lot of the places on the plateau people go here to have a good meal, and a good time, and you will often see groups having a great time here. All that cheap Portuguese red wine really loosens the clients up. The service over the years has been a mixed bag of super-friendly, charmingly grouchy, laissez-faire, or professionally efficient. It depend on the night, depends on the era. The joke back in the day was you'd call and make a reservation and when you showed up it would be crazy busy - just pandemonium - and you'd tell them you made a reservation and they'd act like you had one, but essential you were just waiting in line like everyone else. Somehow it always worked out and it was just part of the charm. So if you do try it out, just go with the flow, get a little sloppy and enjoy the vibe. On our recent visits the place seems less frenetic, which suits us just fine. The one thing you can count on is a great rib steak - and when we go back (which is less often because we used to live in the neighborhood and now we live in a different city) we go for the steak. It is always delicious, and it comes with a side salad. I always enjoy snacking on a Portuguese bun and little olives with a glass of red wine before the steak arrives. Good times!
