Good food, reasonable prices, laid back and easy. Service was excellent. Good vibes here. Would go back often.

The jacuzzi in the room was actually very nice and was separate from the bathtub in the bathroom. The jets were a bit loud When we checked in, we were told the Coffee was 24 hours a day but on Friday morning it wasn't and my friend had to wait an hour and a half for hot coffee. They also offer what they call a continental breakfast on weekdays, which was bagels, waffles you pop in the toaster, oranges, yogurt, bags of instant oatmeal and juice. I guess it's better than nothing, but we decided to get breakfast elsewhere. The cost to rent a golf cart was quite expensive (maybe it's that way on the whole island). $79 for a full day and $97 for overnight. If this was the only option I might come here again. Otherwise, nah!!

I would stay here again. The people at the desk were really nice. We even got to check in really early around 1pm. Although we isn't swim the pool looks nice and the bar and grill seemed pretty cool. As far as privacy the walls are pretty thin and people are coming ans going all the time. I would stay here again. It is in a great location close to everything on the island.

I stayed at the Grand Islander Hotel from August 22-24, 2025, and unfortunately, my experience was…read morevery disappointing. The staff seemed very inexperienced--when I asked basic questions, they were often unfamiliar with the hotel's own rules and policies. I specifically requested a refrigerator in my room to store medication, but I was told there were none available. The only option I was given was to place my medication in the staff refrigerator until one opened up. For a hotel of this price point, this is not acceptable--especially since they do not allow guests to bring in coolers, and the rooms are not equipped with microwaves. When I asked to speak to the manager on duty, I had to wait 45 minutes for her to arrive because she was not even on-site--this on a busy weekend when leadership presence should have been a priority. To make matters worse, while I was waiting, I noticed a child playing behind the front desk, which made the whole operation feel very unprofessional. The rooms themselves are extremely outdated and in need of renovation. The television in my room did not work, and for a rate of $299 per night with a two-night minimum, you would expect at least modern amenities and quality hospitality services. Instead, the overall impression was one of neglect and lack of value. While Put-in-Bay is a great spot for a day trip or short visit, I strongly recommend choosing another hotel if you plan to stay overnight. The Grand Islander Hotel simply does not live up to its price or promises, and there are much better quality accommodations on the island

There were no chairs left and barely any room to stand. The DJ was good. There was quite a variety of music. Not really my vibe but everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying a few songs here and there. The drinks were great. The bartender in the pool was great. Very attentive and friendly. Like most popular places the drinks were expensive and the big "O" drink was all ice, but it was nice to carey around. It seemed like there was enough staff to keep up with the demand of the crowd. Security made regular rounds and was very friendly. It was a nice day overall. There was a booty shaking contest, a belly flop contest and a wet t-shirt contest that never actually happened. I'm old but it was fun to spend a day at the pool drinking and cheering on strangers. I do wish there was a better layout on the upper deck. People tend to line up along the side to people watch and it makes it a tight fit when it's time to go get a drink from the bar upstairs. The upper deck didnt have any umbrellas for shade. I understand that most people would go up there and sunbathe but with the amount of people taking up all the space downstairs it would have been a nice break to sit in a shaded area for a moment. Also there was no food and that kind of stinks. I realize it's better to keep drunk people from trashing the place but it would have been nice to be able to order snacks that we could have eaten off to the side. I'm not a hard-core partier but I enjoyed being able to go hang out during the day and have a good time.

My grandpa and I got an early start and came in on the 9:15am ferry. We needed a golf cart around 10am, but turns out you can't even rent a golf cart until they open at noon! Fortunately, we ran into a worker who let us rent out a cart. We were able to golf cart around the whole island by noon and returned for lunch. Restaurant: This is the only standalone restaurant on the island so you can't expect much. The BBQ wings were solid but I wasn't a fan of the walleye bites. I love walleye, but the bites just didn't taste right and they came with a weird honey mustard dressing and the cole slaw tasted like gordon food service vs. being homemade. My Mai Tai tasted like a tropical drink, but not a Mai Tai necessarily. The restaurant features a resort-like wading pool (it's 1.5 feet deep) and there were kids swimming in it on the Thursday afternoon I visited. I imagine the pool and the entire place gets put-in-bay crazy on the weekend. Food and drinks are pricey, which is understandable given how difficult it is to get everything on and off the island. Overall, 5/5 for the service from the golf cart guy and our attentive waitress, but everything else is a bit disappointing just like the island.
