There was a bin in the back that was lower cost but it was mostly sweaters and shirts that weren't my style and not what I need at the moment. Nothing to bring me back here honestly but there are certain types of people that would love this. Prices seemed steep but it's vintage and they can get away with it.

I'm torn on how to rate The Cat and the Cobra. I was excited to see a vintage clothing store tucked…read moreaway in what seems like a warehouse section of the North Loop. Plenty of parking in the shared lot or on the street. You'll need to be buzzed into the store as the door is locked. Once inside the shop is pretty small and jam packed with stuff....almost too much stuff. It was hard to look at items and the vibe felt a little meh. I still wanted to browse and find something to take home, I'm not sure if I missed the memo for sizing on tops but it was hard to know which section I should be looking in. There were some great finds in there, but also pretty expensive. Previous reviews mentioning prices seem to be several years old so keep in mind that you'll be spending a lot depending on what you're looking for. I will say- if vintage is your style and you're open to what you wear this would be a good stop. If you're a little more picky and looking to save some money this may not be the best option.

As loving parents, we want to help them furnish their home with furniture they will cherish. Repurpose Republic has the best stuff and the best prices in the city. I know, because we spent all day checking out consignment stores in every nick and corner of the Twin Cities. (They're certainly not identical twins!) The proprietor Doug is engaging and informative. He has an eye for a pieces that are architectural beauties. Yet, he can also turn that basement throw away into something that should be displayed in the Museum of Modern Art. Repurpose Republic is the kind of place you want to return to often, just to see what new beauty shows up on the showroom floor. Unfortunately, Repurpose Republic was our first stop, and I was exhausted with all the wasted hours visiting other consignment stores. Save yourself some time and just "hit up" Repurpose Republic. It's the best.

While driving past after hanging out with my mom, I slammed in my brakes and whipped a U-ee. Lucky me with my good parking juju, I was able to pull in right out front. I love a good repurpose store and now living in NE I'm in need of some lighting that fits the whole cool Nordeast vibe. This store is chock full of mid century/retro/some redesigned stuff all without that old people basement smell. (Thank God!) This place has more mid century lamps in one store than I've ever seen in my life!! There are a few super groovy ones that would be a blast to have just for conversation it would conjure up all on its own. The con: maybe it's my jacked up NE Mpls rent I'm now paying or my lack of experience on the cost of retro lighting but I'm not sure I can afford these prices. Boo...because I had a good 5 different lamps/lamp sets that my heart was pitter-patterning over. I was able to chitchat with the owner for a bit before there was a sudden Saturday afternoon rush that poured in. I had asked "if it was consignment? Just him buying/reselling? Buy from others that bring things in off the street?" He responded with "All three" and let me know that he also has some local artist work displayed for sale as well. (Ya, this girl is totally into the whole "support local" thing!) I'll definitely be back to see what cools finds get added...and probably be back for a few lamps...after payday.

Yesterday he wandered into Hill-Valley…read moreBoutique and came home to tell me that he met a really cool store owner and that we should stop back. So today, after hitting up the Alamo Flea market, we stopped back into Hill-Valley. I think Hill Valley, and automatically think of Back to the Future, but you'll have to ask Liz for meaning. Liz , the owner is outgoing and full of enthusiasm about her store which I can understand. It's great to hear what people are passionate about and great to see them putting their vision into reality. Store is full of a lot of great find and trips down memory lane. A lot of the items she had came from what her family already had. - old furniture -china -old watches - records -consignment -candy cigarettes -clothes -clocks And more... I never used to be into looking at old stuff, but J loves it and I'm learning to appreciate the nostalgia and quintessential essence of old things. Great find and a great way to spend an afternoon.

THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC!…read more Trinkets, Jewelry, and Furniture! Oh my! Once again I found a cute little shop while out and about on my day off. I have been here twice now, and both times I have not left empty handed. My first time I left with $15 Nike Hightops that looked immaculate if they were not brand new. I also scored a button up flannel shirt (comfy as all get out!) for only $5... yes, FIVE BUCKS! On my second trip to Hill Valley Boutique I scored the most adorable Red Sunglasses for $12. The store is full of hidden treasures waiting to be discovered, but it's not overwhelming like some vintage/thrift stores you'll find. Not only that, but the atmosphere is so welcoming! There's music playing, the shop owner is adorable and sweet, and did I forget to mention there is a CAFE that is CONNECTED to the shop?!? Yep. This place is pretty neat-o. I'm excited to bring some friends to check out the shop and have a lunch at Hill-Valley Cafe nextdoor!

(This review is for the Savage location)…read more Pros: they shave a ton of cute stuff, and it's organized in a non overwhelming and cute manner. Cons: incredibly expensive for what it is, and incredibly overpriced for a thrift shop/antique shop. Clothing wise, there was nothing under 20$ (except the 10$ rack which.... Honestly had cute stuff, but mostly a ton of weird stuff). 25$ for every clothing item would be on parr with many retail stores, so for a thrift store? That's super expensive. I've been to thrift stores selling the same quality items where nothing was over 10$, expect for some jewelry and a pair of cowboy boots. For the quality of the items - they should be listed at least under 15$. Items I found had minor stains on them (some due to age, some due to questionable sources). A shirt I really liked had tiny specs of something on top, which I would have been fine wearing after a wash, but buying outright for 25$? Um... not really... I'm bad with money, but not that bad. I also found a shirt with a hole in it listed for 22$... and I did end up buying it because I can maybe crop it or hem it, but 22$ for something with a hole in it? That's a bit crazy, and I probably should not have bought it. (Plus when I asked for a discount due to the damage on the stained shirt and the shirt with the small hole, I was told no. So... Yeah, I mean do with that information what you will.) I understand it's second hand items and they won't be in perfect condition, but the benefit of shopping secondhand is you can often get 3-6 items for the price of one. I spent 42$ on a pair of shorts and a sweater (which, again the sweater had a hole in it and the jeans were clearly worn and old (fraying, more natural aging, etc)! I vaguely regret getting it... but hey ). 42$ for two things is the same amount I can spend to get the same thing at a Target. Sadly probably won't go back, but it was cute to step in once!
