First the atmosphere: it seems as though the air conditioner is broke, it was VERY hot inside - even more hot than outside because of the wood fire grill. It was very smokey inside as well, which made it hard to continue to have an appetite. The beer taps were broken when we went which was a shame, no ice for water, and a can of soda was three bucks. The food was okay, but definitely over priced. Everything sort of lacked flavor, and tasted just meh. My husband was not a fan, unfortunately, and that's rarely the case. It was very expensive for what you get. Our waiter was decent, but very quiet. He did open the door for us which was nice, to let the smoke out.

The food was very very good, even if my pizza was in fact burnt. Luckily I don't mind burnt! It was very tasty and the cheese was so good. The service was good also, we weren't check up on too much but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The place was rather empty but I did go quite late so I wasn't surprised about it being empty. Definitely looking forward to going again soon!

They use sourdough for their crust. Got the cheesy bread. Had a bit of garlic taste to it. Went well with a cold beer. The Al pastor pizza is about 10" of Al Pastor goodness. They didn't skimp on the meat. Only wished they had avocado and radish on it.

Pizza review time St. Augustine Artisan Pizza + Craft Beer First impression... $10 for a personal sized pizza? Ummm ok. Second impression, at least they followed the well done instructions. Third impression, tastes like pieology, but smaller and the same price... Audrina loved it, but if you want the professionals opinion, dough seems off. Almost seemed like a gluten free crust with the lack of separation in the doughs build. Sauce was good and cheese was alright. The boxing of a pizza sometimes deteriorated the quality of a pizza and I hope that was the case here.... Good under carriage though 6.6 that's a review.

The place has hip and artsy feel to it. With mood lighting going on and the walls was decorated with array of potted plants and modern art. We came in at about lunch time and the place was empty. Their menu is pretty limited to hors d'oeuvres (ie. Meat, cheese, salads), pizza and well.. beer. Simple but tasty. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel, prairie salad and all&all pizza. Hubby got a nitro vanilla porter (in a can) The food was good but we were hungry. So we came out of there... well hungry Our server was very friendly and courteous. The only downside was that the restrooms were lacking supplies in both guys and ladies room. Maybe they didn't expect to have customers come in today. But we didn't come there to have toilet paper lol.

Wellllllll I will start reviewing again since I picked up travel nursing and get to see new and exciting places. I was returning junk to Walmart and got hungry. Well I need a drink and some food so why not find the first 5 star place closest to me! Bam it lead me here. First I love the vibe!!!!! Love love love! Seems like an awesome locals hang out. Then I sat down and was told half off beers and wine.....ok you have my attention. Of course you know me....they has a shark coochie board....so I had to order it...but it looks like pizza is the love affair here. But nooooooo I still want a shark coochie board. 2nd they have NM beers. Like I would drink one here in El Paso but I can get down with a place that has my a local beer on tap and in cans. Yes I know I should try some local beers of TX but nah....like I said it's a wine kinda night. 3rd the staff is amazing and friendly. I love that they are friendly and having convos with everyone. Also they know their wines when I asked their recommendations. Overall I will be back

Personally... the pizza is not bad. We had the temptation and the ABC pizza. Not the best I have tasted, but it was good. Definitely worth the try. As much as I like crunchy, by the time you get to the crust, my jaw hurts from chewing. One of our friend also popped out his tooth. The pizza is old school pan cooked, which is pretty cool. Service: The waitresses were friendly. It was a slow start and it slowly got a little busy. However friendly these waitresses were, they seemed short handed toward the end. Almost as if it is their first time being a waitress. But they still kept a smile and friendliness, despite forgetting to come back to us. It was a little hard toward the end to just get the check. Parking: Plentiful. No problem here. Came on a Friday night and half the parking lot was still available. Honestly, if you want some old school pan cooked pizza, come try it out. Otherwise... I miss me some Blazed pizza.

The food is amazing, straight up. The management is actively engaged and very professional. However, both times I've been here the service had been horrible. The first time (having never had grasshoppers) I ordered the meat sampler tray. When it finally came out, I was unable to locate the grasshoppers because they had run out. Our server decided not to mention it. Management apologized, and I decided I would give them a second try before reviewing. Tonight was not as bad, but unfortunately the young lady serving my wife and me didn't seem particularly interested in doing her job. We had to request the beer menu, when my wife took more than three seconds to decide on an entree I guess she decided not to come back because we had to flag down a manager (who had to mention it twice to her.) We got salads and pizza, and she asked if we wanted the salads first, which we did. After 10 minutes of making or salads they came out, followed less than a minute later by our pizzas. It wasn't before getting the check that she bothered to check if we wanted more beer or water. Management, please, your product is awesome, and I'll be back in 6 months, but please get some competent wait staff. You have everything else set, but I can't handle your wait staff.

Pizzas: Applewood-smoked, brick oven pizza. Any pizza you try here will be absolutely delicious. The Al Pastor Pizza, La Vida Bella, the Temptation, the ABC, the Gyro (Which I really hope they bring back soon), the Garlic Shrimp Pizza all I highly recommend. And if you're looking for something on the spicier side, Dante's Inferno. They have Vegan and Vegetarian options as well. They were voted on "The Ultimate List for Charcuterie Tasting in El Paso" by the Local Yelp, which boasts the most stars out of the entire list. Beers and Wine: Their beer selection has something for everyone's palette. Their draft beers feature beers from our local breweries such as El Paso Brewing Co., Ode Brewing but is not limited to El Paso. Tejas beer is on DRAFT here! Turkey Drool is among my favorites, and they on occasion have St. Augustine, a Marzen with a medium to full body flavor with a Amber to dark brown color. It was specifically brewed for St. Augustine by El Paso Brewing Co. They have a decent variety of wine selection also. Vibe: Last but definitely not least, their ambiance is awesome. The music they play is different than any other spot I can think of. The owners even make their way to your table and strike up a conversation with you. You feel as if you're sitting on a patio: there are planters placed all along the walls with wood planks and green walls as you sit beneath string lights that illuminate above you, while you smell your pizza being cooked in their brick oven. Specials: When you get a chance, check out their Brunch Pizza, $2 mimosas and $4 sangrias on Sundays and Half off all beer & wine on Thursdays. I've also enjoyed their $6 1 topping & iced tea lunch special which runs Monday- Sat 11am-3pm if I'm not

Wow!! Amazing. Truly awesome experience. The food was so fresh cooked to order. The hubby and I ordered the abc and dantes inferno along with a beer pretzel and some craft beers. All of which were flavorful and served with genuine customer service. I'm heartbroken that I am about to PCS to Juneau Alaska tomorrow and will only be able to enjoy when I visit El Paso (once in a blue moon). This isn't your typical conveyor belt pizzeria this is really truly the best In El paso. I was loyal to the pizza joint and nonas pizza but honestly St. Augustines takes the cake. read more

This place is a cute little gem. Let's start with what's important, the food and drink. Absolutely amazing flavor combinations on the pizzas. They're truly artisan and authentic, meaning they're not loaded with toppings but balanced perfectly between toppings and crust as a authentic pizza should be. Good char on crust as a wood fire pizza should be. My husband had the Dante's inferno and I had La Vida Bella. I can't find the words to how amazing the flavors on mine were. My ONLY critique is that I wished I had a slice of pear on each pizza slice....it was so good. They have a nice selection of beer and wines as well and reasonable prices. Our server was very courteous, prompt and professional. Great service. Also want to note either a manager, chef or owner....not sure who he was, came out to check on us as well and asked how we liked the food and talked a bit about the ingredients. I love this, it shows they really value putting out good product and customer opinion! I highly recommend and look forward to stopping in again. read more

The salad was good I enjoyed the vinegarette dressing and the spinach. However the pizza was doughy and the tomato sauce tasted like tomato paste, I was looking for something more authentic. Just here visiting and trying different foods. read more

We just stopped in and were going to place a takeout order for 3 pizzas so we could continue on our road trip. Right as my wife was about to order I see a cockroach by the pizza oven I slide my chair back to to stand up and I see another by my wife's foot. She was not too happy about that, but the waiter was nice enough to step on it just so my wife could hear the crunch. I wish I could have taken a picture of my wife's face. If cockroaches are strolling around during the day in the middle of the restaurant it's a really bad thing. Needless to say we left. read more

I rarely give 5 stars, but this restaurant deserves it. The service was fantastic. However, let's get to the food. The meat and cheese plate were phenomenal, and the pizza was even better. Na. It ain't that great ... they have good beer but I've tasted wayyyyy better oven pizza. The flavor is good, but it's missing a flair. Cafe Italia has more favor. It's kinda cardboard ish with toppings .. prob won't come back. Sorry guys read more

From the seating by Mitchell through the appetizers of meat and cheese and several draft samplers till I picked the st. Augustine beer which was amazing . Sad to say they didn't the poppy chulo but this very tasty beer. Then we had several more and garden pesto pizza with pepperoni added and it elevated to bomb level tasty !!!. Great food experience thank you and definitely worth going back ! read more

My first visit here to St Augustine and I really did not know what to expect as it was a recommendation from my wife. She found out by visiting another place close to the restaurant. You see I am very picky about my pizza. Born and raised in Chicago, my wife says I am very critical about every pizza place I visit and I guess it's true. As I sat down with my wife I instantly felt comfortable as I was welcomed by Alex, one of the brothers that own this joint. I picked up a beer and took a look at the menu. I picked up the Dante's Inferno. I have to say, this is my new favorite pizza in El Paso. The way that my pizza was made, with love and care, really showed in the taste. The way all the flavors married each other, along with the delicious sauce and then the crispy and soft crust, made for a beautiful experience. Not to mention the smile it put on my face. If you are in the area, do not hesitate to visit. You will not be disappointed. SO GOOD.... read more

As a frequent customer of the craft brew pub capital of America in Albuquerque New Mexico, St Augustine's may be able to set the hurdle very high for any other start ups in EL Paso Tx. I was in town for a senior softball tournament while a team mate was attending the El Paso Dual Athalon race in Socorro. Their pizza was outstanding and they have a wide selection of Wines. Their craft beer is local, tasty but limited (9). Once the New Mexico and Texas Craft brewers learn about St Augustine's they could handle about 15 more taps. . TV. Staff was great. They have two outdoors tables they may be converted into a pet friendly seating..I would have given them 5 stars but no TV..Vegas CJ facebook. read more

Like a lot of great places in EPTX this one's in a very unassuming little storefront strip. Don't be put off. What we got was great, but not without a couple of hitches. We were informed, (albeit in a polite kind of remorseful way, not a snooty way) they were out of this or that. So we made some simple adjustments and reoriented our expectations (no grasshopper pizza for Michael). Everyone was satisfied except for one who expected a greasier American style. This has a drier crispy crust. Winners - the All in All, the Salmon Spinach, the Pepperoni, and the Garden. They have an awesome lunch special- 1 topping pizza + tea for $6. So this is a great place for weekday lunch. Ambiance was pub-ish. Service was really friendly. M had a warm smile, a great attitude and took great care of us. And I must say, great tunes, nice play list that night! If they could just tighten up the availability of some common menu items they'd rate much higher in my opinion. read more

WOW!!! This place is amazing! The restaurant is a bit rustic and Tuscan at the same time, really nice. The food is incredible and the wine just as awesome. I am not a fan of pizza until now. I was intrigued because most bar food was fried and greasy. When my brother in law came to town, I wanted him to experience the welcoming down to earth nature of the bars here (where families go out to drink together) and I was curious about the food. Wow. The bbq and brisket is legit. They have a smoker (locked up for some reason) that they smoke meat in every day and the results are super tender bbq and meats. They have a super clean full kitchen in the back (I asked to peek and thank the cooks) and they do some legit restaurant food here. The menu is pretty simple, the prices are super fair for the amount of food you get. We were 8 adults and it fed us all easily. We got nachos, zucchini sticks, onion ring petals, the brisket sandwich, and the ribs plate with beans and fries. We also got a lot of beer and shots to celebrate my in laws moving here. The only bad thing about our plan is that it was a Tuesday, and not a lot of places were open that day. After some research I finally found Tin Man, which actually has 3 locations in El Paso (all of them on the East side). The place itself is really nice with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Their beer selection was definitely top notch, with many beers from Texas breweries. I also like that they are kid and dog friendly. On the other hand, I wish they would sell a little bit of food, or at least a bag of chips to go with their beers. Regardless the place is really nice and will definitely visit again on my next trip to El Paso!

If I were going off just that, I would give this place a four star, maybe five. First, the restaurant. We went there for lunch and as we pulled into the parking lot we wondered if it was even open as there were no cars there. Nevertheless, we got out and, yes, they were open. As soon as you walk in you notice the place is big and dark. Dark tinted winders, black ceilings and just not very inviting. It was super dark. Giant bar though. We asked to sit outside, although slightly warm, it was better than being inside a dark room. The outside was pretty cool! Giant area capable of holding 2K people, at least that's what the sign said. The shipping containers with the airplane on top were pretty cool. With lots of outdoor games, giant stage, and screens, I can only imagine how busy this place is in the evenings or weekends. But for us, we were the only ones out there when we came. Second the food. As I mentioned my wife ordered the shrimp tacos and she said they were really good. I ordered the Jazz burger. It was just okay. The smashed patties were not season very well, or they were overpowered with the bacon jam. And the bacon on top was not cooked very well. Yes, I do like my bacon crispy so I guess I could have mentioned that. But the bacon was super soft. Not my favorite. So for me, overall the food was just ok. The one thing I found strange about the food was how unaccommodating the kitchen was. I certainly understand when kitchens don't allow substitutes but when I asked for something simple like "no bun" for the burger they apparently gave the server a tough time. So my burger came with a bun. Which isn't a big deal, just don't like to waste food. My wife asked if she could mix match the tacos (most places will allow you to do this especially when they offer more than one type of taco) again the answer was the chef didn't allow for this (chef wasn't even there at the time). Now, is this a huge deal? No, not really. But a restaurant that wants to thrive and be well known usually will accommodate requests within reason. Not sure why this kitchen was so stuck on these things. The one great thing about this place was the service, and specifically the server. He really did do an amazing job even though he might have been the only one there besides whoever was in the kitchen. He was super friendly, checked on us, and even took time to just chat a little bit. He really made this experience as good as it was. What a great server/bartender. All in all, this might be a one and done for me. Off to the next. Cheers.

I had just come down from a Tom Lea gallery event upstairs and the restaurant was packed. I figured it was a long shot, but they still found a way to seat me. Service stayed friendly even with the rush, which I always notice. The burger was easily one of the best I've had in El Paso. Clearly handcrafted, cooked right, super juicy, really flavorful. What impressed me most was the bun actually held everything together instead of falling apart halfway through like most gourmet burgers do. At about $20, it felt justified. One thing worth noting, especially if you're into spirits: they have one of the largest tequila and mezcal collections around. Definitely a destination spot if that's your thing. I tried their carajillo but found out they add Baileys, which made it sweeter than I usually prefer. Not bad at all, just more dessert-leaning than my taste. Live music from Jordan Taylor was happening that night too, which made the whole atmosphere feel elevated without being stuffy. Because that first visit stuck with me, I went back recently to try their lunch special with a friend. For $26 you get an appetizer, entrée, sides, guacamole, tostadas, and dessert. It's honestly a great way to try a range of dishes without committing to just one plate. Funny enough, it doesn't look like a huge amount of food at first... but we were completely stuffed by the end, so kudos to them for balancing portions well while still giving variety. Standouts: * The octopus cocktail appetizer was excellent. Bright, fresh, good texture. * Carne asada was cooked exactly right. Tender but still had bite like a proper steak. * Mushroom components in several dishes were surprisingly flavorful. * Desserts were a highlight. The arroz con leche arancini especially. Crispy outside, creamy inside, not overly sweet. Very well done. Some things were more middle-of-the-road: * Salmon dish leaned bland, lots of texture but not much flavor. * Guacamole tasted a bit acidic. * Goat cheese in the enchiladas was subtle to the point of disappearing. * Corn and mashed potatoes were fine but nothing memorable. Timing was reasonable. Food came out in about 20 minutes, but with a full meal you'll want to plan roughly an hour to an hour and a half total if you're not rushing. One practical perk: they validate parking at the Plaza garage next door, which downtown absolutely needs more of. Overall, beautiful space, solid service, some really strong dishes, and a few that could use more punch. Still very much worth checking out, especially if you're downtown already or want a nicer but still relaxed lunch or dinner spot. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.
