So we rescheduled for mid-May. This time, everyone made it;))) We arrived a few minutes before the boat launched. It was extra crowded as we were told another tour company cancelled, so they let those customers on our boat. It was tight, but we were ready for some fun! We were moving along on Matanzas Bay about 10 minutes. I went to the restroom and noticed some open space in the back of the boat. I went back to the front and got me friends and that's where we hung out the remainder of the boat ride. I'm not a fan of restricted space, so this move felt great! We saw dolphins and an amazing sunset. We went under the Lions Bridge, went by the St Augustine Lighthouse and Castillo de San Marcos. I can't explain how absolutely perfect the weather was that night. But if I go again, I will choose mid-May! Not too hot or humid. The staff was fabulous and friendly! Don't forget to tip them when exiting the boat.

He's incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer any and all questions... even the ridiculous ones...lol. He interacted so well with our two daughters who are 4 and 10, but was sure to engage with everyone on the boat so we all got a personalized experience. We saw so many dolphins and birds (the spoon bills were a special treat for us) which was our main objective. The boat itself was very comfortable and they were happy to accommodate our boat with an extra shade to keep my Mom more shielded from the sun. He also offered to take us out a hour earlier than the advertised time of 11 a.m. so that we could try to beat the heat, again to accommodate the older guests on the boat. Our girls had the best time taking their turns driving the boat and he even treated them to shark teeth after the trip because he heard us talking about shark teeth hunting and we had asked him about secret spots to look for them. Captain Zach is just an easy going guy with a lot of passion and expertise that he loves to share. Having that kind of person as our tour guide really made the experience for us. Overall just a fantastic time. Worth every penny to get a private tour. 10/10 experience!

This review is for the Christmas Light Tour…read more I had a very disappointing experience with St. Augustine Land and Sea Tours due to poor communication and a lack of integrity. I received a text message at 3:00 PM (sent at 1:15 PM, but not seen until later) stating that they were having mechanical issues with one of their carts and wanted to move my reservation to 8:00 PM. This did not work for me, as I cannot drive at night and the person driving me was unable to change his plans. They then asked if 6:30 PM would work, which I agreed to, but this change meant I now had to take an Uber since my driver had already made other arrangements. I requested a refund for the one person who could no longer attend due to their schedule change and was told the cancellation policy is 24 hours. I explained that the 24-hour policy should apply both ways, especially when the company is the one changing the reservation the day of the tour. To add to the confusion, I was then told I had been put back on my "original" time of 6:30 PM--however, my original reservation time was actually 7:30 PM. I would have gladly paid my $40 ticket and the additional $25 each way for Uber transportation if they had refunded the second ticket. However, paying $130 total just to look at Christmas lights is excessive. The fact that the company changed the schedule and still refused to refund the one ticket speaks volumes about their integrity. I highly do not recommend using this company for any tours.

Our route took us out of the marina, around the waterway, right by the fort, and the downtown nightlife. Once the sun went down, the tiki boat had colored lights that turned on. He was so great navigating the waters that were a little choppy in a few areas while making us feel safe. He also was such a good sport with our shenanigans and laughed along with us. ARRIVING THERE: The boat launch was hard to find, as Google maps doesn't take you to the exact location. Allow yourself 30 minutes upon "arrival" so that you can get to the boat launch. We had to stop into multiple local businesses to ask where it was, as the employees who answer the phone do not work on premises and did not know how to guide us past what GPS says. If your GPS takes you to a residential neighborhood, you're in the right spot.

Got that out of the way- booking is easy to do online and you can also call to book. The have a very thorough FAQ list online to explain everything and I reviewed it and made notes. You meet at a public boat launch at your designated time and they hustle to get that boat in the water for you and get you on your way. My hubby had captained pontoons before and took the helm responsibilities. Our rental guy gave him tips about where to go and navigating the inter-coastal waters- you can get details on sandbars to play at, places to stop to eat and more! We departed at 10:30am and were back to make the return 4 hours later. The boat rode wonderfully- no problems there. It was a perfect boating day too- I would rent with them again!
