I have a surgery scheduled so I was reluctant to contract for any kind of major work but they are sending me a quote should I choose to do the bigger job. No pressure. No baloney. Honest evaluation. I asked twice for an estimate as the one in charge, David, was looking under the sink. He told me I needed a new faucet and he wouldn't know the cost until he had gotten the replacement. He said he didn't have one on the truck and would have to go and get it. David left in the truck while the other guy, Tony, asked if he could sit on my deck. When David returned he realized he had gotten the wrong faucet and had to go and get another one. I was never given a list of options or shown any faucets to choose from. David chose the faucet for my kitchen. Upon return he installed the new faucet and checked to make sure everything was working properly. I couldn't believe it when he told me what I owed; $680. He did not give me an itemized receipt or even explain the charges. As a retired person living by myself, I felt like I had been taken advantage of. I contacted Lancaster Plumbing and spoke to the owner John. I wanted to know what I had paid for and why the cost was so high. John said he would speak to David and get back to me. I was finally given an itemized list of the costs: labor for 2 plumbers for 1 hour - $300, Delta Faucet 2497LF in chrome - $325 and fuel surcharge - $35. John the owner did offer to give me a credit for 10% and came out to give me $68. I asked for an estimate twice before the work was done and was brushed off. I paid $150 labor for one plumber (Tony) to sit on my deck or do nothing while the other one (David) did all the work. I had no input on the faucet that was chosen for my kitchen or its cost. I was overcharged for the faucet itself which retails for $245.49 at Lowes, Home Depot and Amazon. This is totally unacceptable and not how a responsible business should act. Lancaster Plumbing took the opportunity to make some extra profit at my expense. Here is your chance to make it right, Lancaster Plumbing. Credit me the labor charge for Tony who did no work in my kitchen and got to take a break on my deck.

My wife and I tried whatever we could do to unclog it, and just couldn't figure out why. We ended up calling around and trying to get general estimates. Depending on the task at hand, Bruce gave us the most reasonable quote and we decided to go with him. He was very responsive online and available the same day. Some of the plumbers had given us dates that were well into the following week, and almost twice the price. When Bruce arrived, he made sure he kept the work area clean, worked on our sink, and after we found out that the job needed was worse than we had initially thought, he encouraged me to look around in case I didn't want to go with him. The new project included sawing off the existing galvanized pipe to the laundry sink, which was severely clogged with corrosion and sediments, and having it replaced with PVC pipe she is replacement. We decided to go with him for the new job and he completed it quickly, with quality products, and at a very reasonable rate.
