What a fun find. We were driving through the city and wanted a sweet treat. I loved how everything was easy to see to help choose what we wanted. There were some delicious flavors and I loved that there was space to sit inside and eat. Can't wait to come back our next time through the city.
Such yummy flavors! Love when a place has unique flavors. This place is hidden and i wouldn't have known it was there if it wasn't for my maps. It's a small hole in the wall and I never saw anyone come in for the 20 min I was there. I got the lemon poppy seed muffin which tasted exactly like that and the famed graham central station. 2 very diff flavors but good. It's a big scoop. You can try the flavors as well. 1 flavor not listed was the caramel mocha brownie, this looked really good as well. I didn't want to confuse myself further so I opted for the 2 flavors I tasted and liked.
We hit this place multiple times during our recent stay in the city and we're pleased each time. Service was terrific and there was a great variety of flavors. We didn't have anything bad at any time. Well worth a visit if you were in the Fountain Square area.
Cute ice cream shop/candy store. We were greeted when we walked in. They just ran out of my flavor before we came so I had to improvise.
With an under the radar exterior, you could easily pass up a hidden gem in the FSQ neighborhood. They have tons of ice cream flavors there which can make it impossible to choose. Luckily, they have an ice cream flight sampler for $6, which comes with 4 kid sized scoops of ice cream - what a deal! This is honestly enough ice cream for two people, too. My flavors were Lemoreo, Elvis has left the building, Brookie dough, and graham central station.
Was looking for an afternoon pick me up and Square Scoop delivered! Our party of 10 crammed ourselves in front of the two cases of ice cream flavors and the two employees didn't bat an eye. They were friendly and handled our orders quickly and correctly. They allow you to sample flavors if you can't decide and believe me it's a tough choice! I went with the flight of four for only $6.49 and opted to add 3 peanut butter malt balls on top for $1 once I noticed them by the register. The ice cream flavors are fun and inventive, but they also carry some of the usual suspects too. Great pieces, great product, and just enough tables available for all of us to sit down and enjoy our treats. They have a few small tables and one large one towards the back. The parking is on the street.
This quaint little ice cream shop is located in Fountain Square. There is a free parking lot available off to the side of the shop and there is limited street parking within walking distance. Parking is very scare no matter what way you choose to park, so you should take the first spot that you see. The shop has a decent sized dining area, consiting of tables and chairs, where you can eat your delicious frozen treats. The shop has a wide variety of delicious flavors including Cookie Dough, Butter Pecan, mint chocolate, LemonOreo, Key Lime Pie, Chewy Chocolate, Strawberry, Pistachio, Peanut Butter Pie, Graham Cracker, Espresso Chip, Honey Lavender, and Black Raspberry Cheesecake. A good amount of those flavors are gluten free. They usual have a dairy free option or two as well. Like most ice cream shops, they offer free samples of the ice cream. The woman working the counter was very friendly and helpful. I may have missed it, but I did not see the buffet of toppings that you would find at other ice cream shops The shop also sells candy and bottled drinks. I ended up getting an ice cream flight, which consists of 4 small scoops (LemonOreo, Mint Chocolate, Key Lime Pie, and Butter Pecan) of ice cream of your choosing. The only thing is that it is served in a clear plastic container that is not insulated. So, it does not travel very well. The ice cream was good though and I enjoyed trying the 4 flavors, because I was My little guy got a scoop of the chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone. And that was after he sampled it and gave me the thumbs up. He said it was good. My ice cream was good. Tasted fresh. This is a nice option for those looking for some frozen treats.
it comes to fountain Square all the time, but I didn't realize there was an ice cream shop until a few days ago. I finally went and tried the Lemoreo and blackberry or raspberry cheesecake. both flavors were so good and I was able to sample them before making a decision both workers there were really nice super patient and I'll definitely be back. They also had candy and a few other items around the store so there's limited seating but overall, the whole vibe in there is pretty cool and chill.
Excellent ice cream store in a cool part of town. Within walking distance of a number of restaurants and right next to a bus stop. A ton of different options of ice cream to choose from and the couple we tasted were both excellent. Prices weren't too bad but in general ice cream places aren't necessarily cheap. It's a small place so I'm sure their overhead costs are small. they had a couple very friendly people working behind the counter. It's a little crowded in the place with a few small tables And a couple cool, but otherwise cool place. One cool treatment is a bunch of game boards on the wall, it gave it a kind of a fun, playful touch.
We had ice cream here after lunch and stroll through the Fountain District. They have SO many great flavors of ice cream to choose from here. They have the obligatory vanilla and strawberry, but their Sticky Chewy Chocolate flavor was over the top. I had pumpkin and a scoop of Turkish Coffee and that proved to be a great combo. Other unusual flavors included carrot cake, honey lavender and honey graham central! Cute names for the different flavors. Also, the scoops are huge! This is a must try when in Indianapolis. Yummmmm
Google thought this place was inside a nearby market for some reason, but it has its own entrance. They housed an appealing variety of flavors. While my banana cream pie delivered appealing bits of pie crust, I was unconvinced that my mint chip would be good because the fake green color looked a bit overdone. It delivered on flavor however, with a more herbal note that I would have guessed. Vegan options were available, and I was also intrigued by some of the niche sodas and candies they had on display. Not much here other than sugar, despite all the variety, but if you're going to treat you'd better do it right.
Easy to walk to, as they're located in the Fountain square area. They have great ice cream flavors and a variety of shakes, malts, float, and sundae options. Their nostalgic candy offerings were also fun to see. There's about eight tables with chairs, which makes for a nice space to enjoy your ice cream away from the summer outdoor heat. The employees are friendly and get through the line pretty fast.
I fell in love with their pineapple ice cream, which tasted like my favorite pineapple sherbet from my childhood. I ordered it as a shake several times. Delicious! Vegan shakes are made with oatmilk and they can make it thicker upon request. I was charged 3 different prices each time I went. That was upsetting and confusing and no one could explain why.
Randomly stumbled across this quaint little sweets shop after a long walk around fountain square and was pleasantly surprised with the treats! There are a variety of fun sodas, and several different candy options available when you first walk in. Beyond that is the large selection of ice cream including cups, cones, and shakes. They provide some vegan and some gluten free options in addition to traditional ice cream and the vegan shakes are made using oat milk. Since I can't have lactose and was craving something light after our walk I chose the pink lemonade sorbet and it was outstanding and refreshing. I thought it very closed resembled Italian ice that you get at baseball games. My husband chose the peanut butter and jelly ice cream which he said tasted just as rich as a Pb&J sandwich. Excited to add this location onto our rotation of local ice cream shops to go to! read more
Quick update: absolutely still delicious and love it, but point of clarity that other places don't source their ice cream from here. It's actually sourced from Sundaes which I just wanted to clarify. ThF doesn't matter though as their ice cream is still incredible. Tried the hot chocolate with a scoop of triple berry cheesecake. Highly recommend that. Also gave a milkshake a try. Had the graham central (not pictured) and the snickerdoodle. Honestly everything is good so stop dilly dallying and go visit them! read more

If you blink you might miss Square Scoop, but this place is one ice cream lovers won't want to miss. They serve more traditional ice cream and you can get sundaes and milkshakes. I opted for a single scoop sundae today with black raspberry cheesecake flavor as the base and raspberry syrup, whipped cream and a cherry for my toppings. The prices are pretty reasonable and they have a gluten feee list handy. They also have treats from the cheesecake lady that melt in your mouth! The ambiance is fun for all occasions with board games on hand to extend your visit. This was my third time visiting and they are always happy to give samples to help you decide. The hardest part is choosing a flavor, but I promised you won't be disappointed. Street parking and free parking lots are located within a short walk. While I tend to prefer custards, I'm an ice cream lover in general and have always been pleased with my experience. read more

Just moved from out of town and have been searching for my go-to ice drama shop and safe to say, I found it last night! The line was short and the workers were very friendly. I was happy to hear they were providing samples because they had so many flavors I couldn't just pick one! I also love that they have vegan flavors to accommodate those who follow specific diets. I ended up getting the salted caramel waffle cone with graham central station and my boyfriend got the key lime pie. We were blown away! So so good. Customer service was great! I'm so happy this shop is within walking distance to my apartment. Can't wait to tell people about it! read more
This was a very nice ice cream place. I got banana cream pie ice cream and my boyfriend got the lemon-Oreo flavor, which is apparently very popular. It was good! They have a very cool space and did a good job handling covid precautions from what I could tell, with half their seating blocked off. read more
I really liked this new ice cream/treats shop in Fountain Square. The building recently completed renovation next to the new bus stop. There is free street parking out front, but if that's full, there is a free municipal lot about a half block away. The interior is a bit dark with high ceilings, but most of the items to choose from like sodas, candies and other treats are near the front where the lighting is a bit brighter. The ice cream/order counter is about a third of the way back on the left with dining along the right wall. There is a cool game board wall that brightens the place up a bit as well. I didn't try anything but the ice cream and I have to say that the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice cream was delicious! Very creamy and it stayed cold with melting all over while I ate it. They don't have as many flavors as some of the bigger ice cream places (especially the franchises), but they do offer a decent sample and can make shakes and sundaes for you. They also have some Vegan options for an extra $.50. I'm not sure how many vegan flavors they have or the taste, but I wanted to point that out. They also have numerous gluten free options as well. Prices are about the middle of the pack when compared to small shops around Indy. My only negative is that they don't open until 2, so stopping by after lunch to grab something is a bit of an inconvenience. Review #2883 read more
There's finally a dessert shop that is open reasonable hours in Fountain Square! I was so excited to hear that they would be open. Even better news: they would be serving locally made Sundae's Ice Cream! The shop is quite simple: Albanese candies and a variety of other brands, Sundae's Ice Cream (cone, waffle cone, or cup options), and sodas. They offer a couple of vegan options, although I'll add that the vegan chocolate tasted like chocolate protein powder to me - no bueno. Two Sundae's staples are the lemoreo and the graham central station. I also tried their new seasonal: apple pie. It's heaven in ice cream. I did a half-and-half flavor of lemoreo and apple pie - best decision. The staff are incredibly friendly and outgoing. They're there to make sure you get the best flavor, even if that means offering samples of all the flavors of ice cream. They're reasonably priced too (think $7ish for two people for ice cream). Best part: the Red Line stop is right outside of their shop! Great to have them in the FS neighborhood! read more

Imagine it, you're out in Fountain Square. You and your friends have finished dinner and need dessert. You open Yelp and there it is, Square Scoop - and it's still open! I am here for an ice cream shop that is open for the after-dinner crowd. Top it off with it's fantastic selection of local ice cream that includes vegan and gluten-free options and you have an instant favorite. Some of the flavors take a step beyond the traditional but you can sample before you commit - I recommend Lemoreo, Graham Central Station, and Caramel Turtle Fudge as well as Pumpkin for the basic among us. read more
YUMMY! Ice cream is so rich and delicious here. The scoops are huge so you get a lot for your money. The space is small and there are only a few tables. The decor is nice and they also have sweets and sodas for sale. They change out the flavors each day and have plenty of flavors with gluten free and vegan options. Someone in line behind me asked if the ice cream was served in a square- I told them no and they left so there was some confusion on that. I knew it was for Fountain Square but guess they thought it would be different. Worth a visit to try a local business. read more

Our to-go ice cream shop in Fountain Square closed, and that's how we stumbled upon Square Scoop! They do not have a designated lot, but there was plenty of street parking nearby. They have a variety of flavors, ranging from traditional vanilla to lemon Oreo. The staff were super friendly and wanted us to try all the flavors. I ended up selecting their most popular: Graham Central Station. It's an amazing combination of graham cracker taste with some caramel and chocolate. The texture is so gooey and delicious. I loved it so much that I got a scoop to eat immediately and a pint to-go for later. My husband went with the Oreo Lemon and raved about it. We will definitely be back for more! read more
When I found out Square Scoop was coming to my neighborhood (Fountain Square) I was excited. As an ice cream lover you come across lots of shops that do the job; however this place is a winner! They make their own homemade ice cream and have tons of flavors. I have to admit I've been multiple times and tried lots of flavors. Personally the peanut butter pie is my favor but man it goes quick. I also love their cookies and cream, graham central station and lemon Oreo. Yes I said lemon Oreo - I couldn't have ever imagined to two together but it's refreshing and so satisfying. It's more than an ice cream shop though. If you grew up loving candy or still do they probably have your favorite kind. My boyfriend is a huge candy lover so he buys a stash every time we go. Whether it's ice cream soda floats, hot fudge sundaes or mixing two flavors together they'll do it for you with a smile on their face. The staff is so friendly! If you want to know what flavors they have at anytime check out their Instagram for an updated list! read more

Hands down the best ice cream shop in Indy. It's centrally located in Fountain Square - whether you stop by to pick up a pint for home or enjoy a scoop after dinner, it always hits the spot. Their ice cream is sourced from Sundae's which is the most artisanal and unique ice cream you'll find. Try the LemOreo, Espresso Brownie or Graham Central Station. You won't be disappointed by the amount of treats they swirl in! read more

I am a huge lover of independent ice cream places and decided to stop in during a Sunny day in February. Having never been here before I was impressed with the variety of sodas and candies available alongside the ice creams. There were a bunch of great options for flavors and how to enjoy them (different cones, toppings, and so on). There were unique flavors and also classics so everyone should be able to find something they like. I went with the creme brûlée which was a browned sugar ice cream with actual pieces of caramelized sugar in it! So good! The staff was super friendly and helpful offering free samples if I wanted any. It was clear that the employee working at the time enjoyed being there. There were seating options inside but the location in Fountain Square makes it perfect to take outside and enjoy while walking around. There was some free street parking right outside, but the area is very walkable if you need to park a little further away. read more

So excited to have a veritable dessert in Fountain Square! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. They seemed a little over-staffed with three people (better than the alternative). There were a few other groups but we easily got one of the four tables. They had a good variety of flavors to choose from, we each sampled a few. I landed on the Cookies and Cream and my boyfriend got Graham Central Station. As a bit of a cookies and cream connoisseur, this is as good as it gets. I'm not sure how I'll ever order anything else. The graham central station was supreme as well. I'm confident that there isn't a disappointing flavor here! read more
Fountain Square ice cream shop has such YUMMY flavors! Like Lemon/Oreo, Graham Central Station (graham cracker swirls), Coffee toffee and so much more! We were out for a Red Line Bus ride and made this our destination since it is steps off of the Fountain Square Bus stop. Small little shop, put plenty of space inside. We tried the Sticky Chewy Chocolate and it was almost like eating creamy, frozen brownies! Drooling for more... And the Orange Dreamcicle had so much flavor and real orange in it! So fresh and creamy. Also the root beer float. The flavors are absolutely delicious!!! And yes, we'd go back for it again... but it won't be too soon, as the prices are a little high. Store was so clean and neat. 4 workers, and they all seemed nice. Quick service. Good! read more

I stopped in Square scoop during a bike ride. It was my first time being in. Service was super quick since we were the only ones there. There was lots of interesting flavors. I stuck with the basics of Keylime and honey lavender. Both flavors were fantastic, I would definitely like to go back and try more. Workers were very friendly and happy to give suggestions. read more

Small unique ice cream shop filled with old school candy. The sorbet was perfect! Plenty of seating. They will let you taste everything before you choose. They even had vegan options. read more
Square Scoop finally adds a true ice cream place to Fountain Square. They've had froyo, they have popsicles but finally ice cream! They also sell a variety of specialty sodas in bottles and current and old fashioned candy. They sell about 12 flavors of ice cream from Sundae's, the ice cream shop in Geist and this includes the favorite Graham Central Station! Service was very friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back for dessert after dinner in FSQ! read more

I've never had bad ice cream, but Square Scoop is my favorite local spot. They have classic and interesting flavors for good prices. They have a cute setup right in FSQ, but I've always taken it to go and enjoy while walking around outside. Plus they limit occupancy and require masks inside, which makes me feel more comfortable visiting. read more

This place makes the best vegan ice cream I've ever had! I have no idea how they make it so creamy (there's not one ice chip to be found) but they do. This is a must stop place for us every time we make the hour long trek from Bloomington to Indy. I hear the dairy options are incredible as well. Very fast too! read more
