Just visited for the first time after the renovation and I am so sorry to say we were very disappointed. The food was not up to its usual quality. We both had the Papas Fresca and unfortunately, the potato was not cooked through and it was not warm. The Pico de Gallo was bland and we had to search for the olive oil. We finally found it, all in one area of the potato. It did not taste at all like it usually does. My friend also got the tomato basil soup and said it was good, but lukewarm. The fact that it was served in a paper cup added to the disappointment. We understand that places are understaffed, although this didn't seem to be an issue, and maybe that's why we were served on paper plates? That doesn't account for the forks that were so flimsy, we had trouble eating our potatoes with them. Adding to the disappointment was that the renovation apparently didn't include the interior. It is still dark and dingy, outdated and the banquet we were sitting on actually had torn fabric. The floors were also dirty. It just wasn't the Spuds we're accustomed to and that's unfortunate. It's usually one of our go to spots for lunch. We both left feeling very disheartened. read more

This place has weird hours. Went for breakfast and apparently they CLOSE between 10 am and 11 am to prepare for lunch. So don't get hungry at 10 and expect to eat here. They were not even nice in informing patrons saying " just so you know, we're closed" after you enter the restaurant. Can't tell you how the food is! read more

My husband and I have eaten there on numerous occasions. We have recently enjoyed the new breakfast and dinner menu. They definitely go above and beyond to serve quality food sometimes they get slammed and it takes a bit longer but it's totally worth the wait. Although we have never incurred a ridiculous amount of time sitting around waiting. It is definitely worth a visit the huckleberry lemonade wine spritzers are amazing. I have eaten at Spuds many times. I have always enjoyed the food there. I am especially fond of the shrimp louie salad. However today made me write this review. On a Saturday in the busy summer season we chose to eat lunch there with friends. The first bad sign was that the special board had sold out of every special. Choosing other options we were then informed that they were out of potatoes. Spuds out of potatoes! I haven't seen the louie salad forever. The management really is suffering. A large party of us walked in for lunch. As soon as we told them them how many adults and kids we had (5 kids over 11, 8 adults), the manager or owner immediately made a disapproving and annoyed face and said they were a small establishment and might not be able to seat us all together. We said that was fine, that we could sit at different tables no problem, but he didn't seem like he wanted us there AT ALL. The waitstaff, however, was super nice, and took all of our orders in a friendly, fast manner. The food was a mix of good and bad. Salads were fresh and good, however the chicken on the Ceasar salad tasted microwave reheated. Not edible. One of us ordered the chicken basil sandwich and it was drowned in mayo, and had a mildew taste. Also not edible. Soups were all good, some excellent. So was the gluten free cookie! But mostly, the attitude of the manager/owner set a very negative tone, even though they had plenty of space open. Won't be going back for that reason. read more

Waterfront patio on the marina. We went at peak lunch time but were able to get a table right away. We ordered potato and salad to split and the kids got the turkey/cheese sandwich (about 4" on French bread). You order up front and they deliver to your table. The staff was friendly enough although they could work on it a bit more. We split a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and caramel drizzle which was amazing. We love Spuds - just ate there, and it is now officially a favorite. We've now been there at least half a dozen times and never had a bad meal. The food is super fresh and flavorful. Moreover, the service has always been extremely warm and friendly. They have one of the best, most authentic Caesar salads I've ever had (light and tasty, not heavy and creamy) and the pan fried gnocchi is fantastic. Also HIGHLY recommend the bread pudding and the "smashed" potatoes. This has proven to be a true local favorite for these (recently transplanted) locals! read more

The service was incredibly slow considering the small menu and you order as you walk in the door before finding a table. Under new ownership. Their menu is interesting, appealing and unique. I had a difficult time finding something gluten free and filling. The portions were on the small side for the price. I went here for dinner about 3 years ago and the food, atmosphere and service was amazing, 5 star amazing. I recently came back and we had to order at the front door, a very small area. The food we got (all 3 of us) was not very good this time - so very disappointed. Came back to give another try however it appeared ordering at the front entrance is the new norm and think there must be new owners due to this change, we left because I wasnt in the mood to stand in a line with people trying to shuffle in and out, its a very small space, and the fact the food was not as good the 2nd visit. will try again. read more

Had the Green Chili Chicken soup and a roll. The soup was pretty good but if you want your roll warm, you might have to make a request for that. Not only was the soup appealing to the eyes but was great tasting. Sat out on the lanai. Tables were spacious and not crowded together. There was a nice awning of clean burlap fabric draped over the overhead beams to shade the sun but not completely block it out. The view of the marina and waterway below was pleasant and it had a nice vibe.The only negative I have is that the liquid soap dispenser in the ladies bathroom wasn't working and you really had to hassle with it in order to get any soap out. We are vacationing at Priest Lake and came for a drive to Sandpoint. We discovered Spuds Waterfront Grill and loved our first lunch here. The owner is personable, pays attention to detail, and offers a great menu. The Capistrano sandwich and Tortilla salad were delicious. We will definitely return. Fantastic place for lunch! We were visiting Sandpoint for 4 days, and we ended up here twice as it was pleaser for the whole family. Both of our boys - and one is picky - loved this place. The soups were all excellent, and I love that you can try as many as you want before you order. The soup and sandwich combo is the way to to as the sandwiches are very good as well. Good bread makes the sandwich, they had very good bread. The atmosphere is very nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The drink selection of craft beers, ciders, sodas made it easy for all of us to find something yummy to drink. We wish we had a place like this in our neighborhood!
