These donuts are great, and the guy who works here is easy to deal with. It's 24-hour, too, which definitely doesn't hurt, and the parking's plentiful. They have two of these giant bars (basically variants on the maple bar and chocolate long john) which are blown up to ridiculous, wide proportions, covered with a few chocolate chips on top, and sold for $1.75. They taste great, too -- I don't want to go back to their equivalents which have had the lap band or Nutrisystem or whatever. They do the fundamentals well, but I wish they expanded their types of donut. There are several types, but they're all sort of variants on the same two or three things, so you can't go too many times without getting bored. read more

As a woman I get some serious and strange craving sometimes at the oddest hours. I was craving doughnuts at 11:30pm on a Wednesday and this was the closest spot to my home that was open 24/7. I walked in and this place was literally flooding their shelves with freshly baked doughnuts. I asked the man how much for half a dozen and he said $6.50. I hesitated only because I didn't know how they were going to taste and everything but the man insisted he will give me 2 additional donuts if I buy the half dozen. I said sure. I picked my doughnuts and went on my way. When I got home I realized he gave me 11 doughnuts!!!! He stuffed my box with a few additional doughnuts that I had picked out originally. Summary: Lady was blatantly disrespectful and the donuts were dry. I'm not going back. I had to run an errand this morning (3/21/17) and was starving. FYI, Im a 30-something black woman in a fitted hoodie and pajama pants at this point. (Spudnuts however is not the finest business establishment so I'd call myself appropriately dressed.) I come in and the Asian lady comes out right as I start to wonder if theres a worker in the building. She asks me if Im ready, but before I can answer (about 5 seconds), she jumps on the telephone and walks away-no excuse me, or one moment or any other pleasantry. So Im waiting for her to get off the phone and remember she has a customer. Shortly another male Asian worker comes in and helps me. I order $15 worth of donuts. As I'm completing my order a group of slightly older white patrons walk in. Theyre nice and bantering and clearly ordering coffee. While the male worker is literally in the middle of entering my order into the cash register, the lady (who has taken a $20 from the gentleman who ordered $4.50 worth of coffee) walks over to the register clears out my order, enters and gets change for the gentleman's order then walks away again. Just like before with no acknowledgement of the other customer (ME) who she rudely inconvenienced. I let the male worker know that her actions were rude, which he acknowledged. I also let him know I would not be returning. Had it just been her, I would not have even bought the donuts. As for the donuts, Id say they were over priced and below average. It was like eating bread covered with frosting. Maybe I would've liked them more if I didn't have the sour taste of maltreatment in my mouth. The donuts did not impress me, however, the cinnamon buns were great!! I would definitely go back for the cinnamon buns. As for the doughnuts there are other doughnut shops in the Oxnard/Ventura area that are far better. I'm not a big fan of donuts because I don't like glazed donuts and that always seems to be the favorite for people. I was craving a malasada which is like a huge warm donut whole with sugar and cinnamon. This place has a donut similar to that and I liked the cinnamon twist that had the crumbles on top. Let me just start off by saying the donuts were actually very good, so I'm sad that I can't return. I work for a day program for people with disabilities. I brought my people in for a morning snack since who doesn't love a doughnut in the morning. I'm assuming the owner (older Asian woman) was up front helping. I had already ordered one doughnut with one person and was working with the next one. The owner kept asking if we were ready, but I politely told her no not yet. I'm letting every single person who came in go before us because we were taking our time. The owner told my person "move" "you're blocking all the doughnuts ( UHM WTF?) mind you were in the corner I'm immediately annoyed because she was so rude about it. Then when I order my doughnuts she charges me $1.50 instead of the $1.25 my person was charged. Then she repeated keeps telling my person $2.50 and he's getting flustered. Bought the apple fritter, cinammon twist, raspberry filled donut, chocolate covered and filled donut bar, and maple glazed donut bar! The apple fritter is my favorite--so glazed and crispy. They were amazing and fresh out the oven. Their products are always fresh and well worth their price! Highly recommend. Will definitely come again. read more

When it's time to completly clog the last of your arteries then there's no better place than spudnuts. I've got a boat within short walking distance and try to only eat there once a month. I have no complaints about this place. They're open 24 hours and donuts are constantly being made. My only bummer (which isn't a big deal), is that their breakfast croissants with bacon aren't made until after 4am, and I made a random trip there a little past midnight. I work across the street from this location. Once in a while when I'm craving a doughnut I'll stop by, only because of the convenience. As others have said the quality of the doughnuts is not exceptional and at time is sub-par. The customer service has at times been less than average. At least twice I've gone in and stood around shouting "Hello" because no one was out front. I even knocked on their counter top but to no avail. read more
