I said I needed a sim card for my phone... the staff member took be to the UVerse area to be helped by the person there, was in and out of the store in less then 5 minutes! I was really surprised at how fast the whole thing took... this location is also a lot bigger then the one on Liberty and they have a separate room to experience UVerse... I would get all these offers from other companies, but Verizon would come close to the offer, so I would stay with them. I went into the Verizon store and, they said they were sorry, but they could not match Sprints offer. so I switched. I notified Verizon in September that I had switched services. I should have had a credit for the part of September that I had already paid for. Then I was charged the entire fee in October (I had autopay, so they took it out of my checking account), so I called them. They said I would get a refund. Then I receive another bill for November for another $80. When I called they said I owed them another cycle and Zavier (Verizon representative) listed about 10 different fees that I owed. I cannot believe this! How can they bill me for stopping service? I haven't had services with them for over 6 weeks, but fees keep racking up? In essence, they say I owe $164 for fees/charges AFTER I canceled services. I was no longer on contract and owned my phone. This is insane. Now I wish I had left them years ago.... Be careful! Get everything in writing.

We visited simply asking to upgrade our iPhones, and were told that upgrading to a "business plan" would save us money in the long run. With minimal explanation or clarification from the "manager" (it is impossible to tell who the manager is), we were transitioned to a new plan. "No problem, this will save you guys money long-term." This took, at our first visit, three hours, during which: 1. The first name on our new account was switched to an incorrect name and seemingly locked in, to the point where not even Verizon corporate could change it back (this error persisted to the point where every corporate service call resulted in my being called the wrong name); 2. The "manager" (?) said he had to go "punch the safe" after continuing to make ignorant comments to his employees; 3. We were simply handed two new pieces of equipment (business routers) that we didn't want and didn't ask for. I said that they could hang on to the routers since we did not need them, but the "manager" said that they came with the plan and that they could not keep them. Well, it turns out that they were two new devices and new phone lines that we would be charged monthly for. When I saw this and protested to Verizon corporate to deactivate them, I was charged $350 *PER NEW DEVICE* (so $700 total) for the deactivation fee. Just an absolute scam in the purest form of the word. Oh, and they couldn't figure out how to succesfully switch the account during our first three-hour visit. So I had to go back for another two-hour visit to get that completed and get our phones transferred. Verizon corporate has been no help, and initially told us to take the two routers back to the store. I did this, having zero interest in ever going to this store again, and the "manager" told me I had to mail them back to Verizon, without saying anything about the cancellation fee. I still have yet to receive the boxes that Verizon was supposed to mail to return the equipment. That I never needed or asked for. Just complete garbage. Something needs to be done about this store, but I'm sure that nothing will. Glad I'm $700 down because of the service provided. Don't go here, and if you do for some reason, do not get conned into switching to a business plan. That was entirely my problem.

I booked a Genius Bar appointment and waited an hour to be attended to, only to be met with an extremely rude and irritated staff member. He informed me that they would only replace it for free if it wasn't physical damage. Since it was, I had no choice but to pay another $500. He showed no willingness to help and shut down any discussion about alternatives. I was already feeling terrible about losing my MacBook and all my data, and his attitude only made the experience worse. This kind of customer service made me lose interest in Apple, it could have been handled much better. Last week, I prepared myself and booked another reservation, and thankfully, I met Steve, who turned things around. Instead of spending another $500+ on an old MacBook, he suggested getting a new one, which made sense. He also helped me transfer my data to Time Machine, which was a huge relief. While I'm still disappointed with my initial experience, I truly appreciate Steve's help. Thanks to him for his valuable suggestion and assistance it was reassuring to know my data was safe. Although I felt bad about spending so much on an old MacBook, at least I had a clear path forward. I asked how much and was told free. Fast forward 2 weeks to my next Verizon bill. $1200 finance shows up on a $35 month bill. I called back and told the salesman this and he said don't worry about it. It's a billing mistake. Luckily I called Verizon and after 3 hours on the phone with them they help me file a complaint, and said that the store is known for doing this. Verizon told me to go back to the store and get a refund. I went to the store and was told that they couldn't return the phone even though it had never been opened or touched. Then after 15 minutes of debate, they decided to take the phone back and charge me a $50 restocking fee. Buyer beware, these 2 guys are not interested in helping the customers. I have been with 20/20 Communications since way back when they were called Ann Arbor Wireless…read more I dropped my previous cell phone carrier, because they kept "upgrading" and "servicing" their network in ways that caused my phone not to work at all, which isn't much of an upgrade. But I kept 20/20 Communications around, because their service is great, and they can write contracts with more than one cell carrier. I have a long history of beating up and breaking phones and 20/20 has done a great job of repairing and replacing my phones. My current Nextel i530 is about three years old, on paper anyway. But Every part of it has been replaced, except the plastic cover on the back (Got a new flip, an antenna, a battery and then something they called a "swap" wich included replacement of all the guts inside the phone). I understand I could get one of those plastic covers for $12, and then I would have a new phone. My contract included one free replacement battery, so when I mentioned one day that it didn't seem to be charging, they handed me a battery. They have all my contract information on file, so every time I walk into the store, they can pull up everything about my phone, what service it has had, and what it is capable of doing. They do a great job. This is the same company that is trying to install wall-to-wall wireless internet throughout the county, and I'm not as happy with it. Not only is their geographic progress less-than-impressive, but I found the Wi-fi itself disappointing. If you want to log on and use free internet, you have to provide them with a credit card number. (No, thanks.) They're hoping to sell you a higher level of service later, which is supposed to subsidize the free wireless service. Not only do I not want to pay for their services, but I am not going to start punching in credit card numbers every time I find a new wireless router that some guy has perched on the top shelf in his dorm room. How safe can that be? There are way too many free hotspots in restaurants and at the library. Where I live, we have Wireless Ypsilanti, which is doing a much better job of spreading free internet. The businesses downtown are paying for wireless service and keeping it open to the public, without any kind of pre-registration. Wireless Ypsi is a non-profit venture and the guys who operate it will service the routers for free, so it's a lot more progressive than 20/20 Wireless.

So Thursday comes and I call and she says that they sold out once again. I had received no call and she did not offer to special order one until I called on Thursday. Finally, tired of my current phone dying I "special ordered" one. This time I actually received a phone call and went to pick it up. Everything seemed to be fine with the phone until 6 days later (it was thanksgiving break so I didnt use my phone for a few days) when I found 51 pictures that I had not taken on my phone. I knew I was taking a risk to have it fixed and they never guaranteed anything. However, what did upset me was the fact that after looking around more, this seemed to be the only phone repair shop in Ann Arbor that charges a nonrefundable fee to even attempt to fix a phone. The other stores will only charge you if they're successful in fixing your phone. I picked up my broken phone back from these frauds. Upon pickup they tried to upsell me on a deluxe package that would entail a "deeper dive" and a more thorough fixing process. I couldn't believe it. They kept saying that no other competitors would be able to fix the phone and it was destroyed. Well surprise, surprise....I took it to another competitor and they had it completely fixed within 1/2 a day! And didn't even charge me unless the phone was fixed! Naturally, we call the corporate office, and they tell us that the satellite store told them that they never had our phones in their possession. Corporate then relays that information to me. Imagine the mushroom cloud over my home. After disputing this with corporate, they dug a little deeper and called their satellite to re-inquire the store's claim. The store claims that they already sent our phones back. Even though corporate has NO record of receiving the old phones. Shell. Game. So in the eyes of corporate, we were still on the hook for $800+. After SIX HOURS on the phone with corporate, raising holy hell, and travelling back and forth between our home and the satellite store, Sprint corporate took care of us. To be honest, we've never had an issue dealing with corporate that wasn't resolved. But this particular location is as crooked, and dirty as they come. Stay away from this place. Jason is the "manager" at this location, and he is nothing more than a scam artist. He reassuringly smiles at you, while he knows full-well that he is screwing you over in the end.
