This is an update to my review of Aug. 30. I finally heard from the company and they reduced my…read moreremaining bill and sent out a crew that moved the control system to the garage. I am glad that there was a resolution to this situation.

But they were expensive, so we opted to split up the lighting and do the backyard later. We reached out to them about a year ago. they sent a guy out to our house and he seemed really out of it. He didn't write anything down. He did not communicate well. I asked someone else to come out so that I could explain what we were looking for the backyard. They sent him again and he still didn't write anything down or understand. On the day of installation, the crew shows up and they have no idea what we want or what to install. They asked me where I wanted lights, and I asked if they had a written plan and they said no. The supervisor was coming or the person who would come to my house and they said he hadcar trouble. I called the main office and they said they would send him over right away but it took him 45 minutes to get here because he lived far away and allegedly had no car. I'm not sure what car he got to come here if he didn't have one. But he shows up, no clue where the lights are supposed to go. We were so frustrated that we just sent them away. We did not get our lighting installed. I talked to Kevin, who was apparently the manager, although he had been the person who came out the first time. He said that the person he sent knew what he was doing, and that known where to put the lighting. But I told him that was absolutely not the truth and that I was very disappointed. He made no effort to make amends or send someone else to rectify the situation. We now have one light that doesn't work in our front yard but we don't know how to get it fixed. Other companies said they don't use those kind of lights and they don't use the app that we've been using to turn the lights on and off. We can't get the app to automatically set up lighting because it gives us an error message. i'm afraid that at some point we will have to get these lights completely replaced which means we will be out $4000. This company had potential. The first time they conducted themselves with and conscientiousness. I guess they have grown too big and too confident. Yet another DMV contractor that disappoints.

Here's a recap of my experience:…read more Monday, April 7, 2025: We submit a form through their website for an estimate for a sprinkler/irrigation system. Monday, April 7, 2025: We receive an email from Shannon Keller, Assistant Office Manager, in which she says, "You can expect a call to schedule your estimate within 7 to 10 days." Friday, April 18, 2025 It's been more than 10 days with zero communication, so I call (443-755-8800). The woman I speak with says she'll check with the manager and someone will call me back ASAP. Tuesday, April 22, 2025 No one has called, so I call them. The woman I speak with promises that she'll call me back by the end of the day. Wednesday, April 23, 2025 No one has called. So, once again, I call them. This time, I speak with Wendy, the customer-service manager. She says, "We pride ourselves on customer service." She gives me her word that she'll call me back today. Can you guess what happened next? Wendy never called. Instead, at 7 PM, I get a text message from "Scott with Montgomery irrigation." He says his "soonest appointment is May 13." That's more than 5 weeks from our initial contact, where Shannon promised to get back to us within "7-10 days." Apparently, Montgomery Irrigation thinks it's ok not only to overpromise and underdeliver, but also to flat-out lie to customers. No doubt, they're busy. We're all busy. But it's just plain wrong to ghost people. Especially after you promise to get back to them. Especially after they've repeatedly followed up. And especially if you "pride" yourself on customer service.

I turn to look out my window and water is spraying inside my passenger side window. They were apologetic and unaware they said. One guy ran to shut the water off and I ran to close the window. Our inquiry began when our home inspector identified several potential problems on the outside of our home. Green future was one of the companies we had come out to look at the problem spots and give us an assessment and a quote. We later hired them for the work that we needed, because they were the most professional, organized, and responsive. We had Green Future, led by Anthony, complete 3 projects for us: regrade a small spot along the side of our house, bury the drainpipe in the backyard and extended it away from the foundation/basement, and replace the stairs coming off the kitchen door. Anthony and his team made sure everything about our contract was in order, he got our project scheduled very quickly, and he saw to it that everything was done well and on time. The team completed every part of our project in just 3 days. And when rain washed away some of their work at the end, he made sure we'd still get a quality work product from them. My only complaint is the very short time window for the final payment--5 days, which also came without a final reminder the day it was due. I lost track of it until the company called on day 6, by which time we faced a 10% late penalty! This one gripe aside, we plan to work with Green Future again when we're ready to take on additional projects to spruce up our backyard.

A crew member tossed cigarette butts into my bushes--caught on my security camera. I reported it, and while the project manager apologized, that set the tone for what followed: poor communication, sloppy work, and disregard for my property. The deck didn't line up with the pavers/basement wall as promised. I warned them early, but they ignored it. Worse, I discovered they reused painted wood from my old deck in the new build--clearly trying to cut corners. After I confronted them, they agreed to fix it. Reviewing security footage, I found that one worker brought his wife and three kids (one looked about 5 years old) to help with demolition removal. I raised serious concerns about safety and liability. The company gave vague reassurances but offered no real accountability. During a return visit, their carpenter admitted to hitting my mailbox--he waited until he was leaving to tell me. Security footage showed him knocking it over and dragging it under his van before screwing it back onto the post. It's still damaged. They tried to regrade several times with just a guy and a shovel, despite our agreement that the job required heavy equipment due to nearby tree roots. Only after repeated complaints did they finally bring a bobcat to finish the work properly. The deck was eventually extended but still came up short on one side. For nearly $40,000 in grading, pavers and a significant deck project, I expected professionalism. Instead, I got cut corners, damage to my property, child labor concerns, poor oversight, and repeated failures to meet clear agreements. I absolutely do not recommend this company.
