His team of AWESOME guys were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and most of all fun to have around while they worked. Wow - what an impact they made! We cannot thank them enough and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them, whether you're preparing to sell your home (like us) or simply to spruce it up and freshen the look. We asked RJ III what he thought we needed. He suggested we fix a depression area this year and next year we will talk about the 25 year old driveway and the options for resurfacing or replacing. RJ III said this would let us walk into a relationship and evaluate how the company performed to our satisfaction on one piece of work instead of so much work at one time. In one day the team showed up and removed a large section (the size would be a standard driveway) and brought the grade up with layers of dirt and rock and then put dirt on the high side to make sure the water from the highest part of the property flowed across the driveway and no longer puddled up to continue creating a depression. If you live in Pasadena... you know that sand moves where the water will take it... They added topsoil, seeded and put straw down. They even put a curb on one section. All in one day!

Contracted Barlow to replace an old, torn up asphalt residential driveway with concrete. I could…read morenot recommend them higher! Rick Barlow did the estimate & emailed the proposal, it was a bit higher than the bids I got for asphalt, but it IS a concrete driveway - much more durable with a longer service life. Agreed to terms. And even though it's late December, Rick told me there was a 3-4 day window of mild weather and he scheduled our job within a few days of me sending the 1/3 down payment. The install team had five people and they were great. The foreman - Sergio - was incredibly knowledgeable/helpful/friendly. He went over precisely what they were doing. They had the old driveway taken up in about an hour, had the forms up and the underlayment graded and compacted in about two, and had the concrete poured, seamed and smoothed in another three. In at 8AM, out by 4. The new driveway is simply perfect! Absolutely beautiful. In short: if you need a new concrete driveway, you might want to think twice about a company who does a lot of things good and instead go with one that does one thing GREAT. All Barlow does is lay commercial & residential concrete, and they are VERY private-homeowner friendly. Top recommendation.

After interviewing 4 contractors, I chose Barlow to make a 22"x 10' patio, front walkway, and driveway border to the property line. They gave me a very competitive price. I chose them because I felt the most comfortable with the project manager, Andrew. Andrew also gave me a construction date that was sooner than later - within 7 business days - and was quite flexible with me, as I had to work through an HOA. The crew was outstanding. Quick, efficient, and left a very remarkable product - including a solution to the driveway edging - which was to build in a curb. They taped everything off and cleaned up the area very well. This company cares. In the early evening, Andrew came by to check the work and my satisfaction with it. That rarely happens nowadays. I am tremendously pleased.
