Pros - Building is fairly new (I found an announcement from 2022 - apparently this was the first…read moreTru branded hotel) and in good condition. - Everything was clean - Staff friendly - Free electric chargers for vehicles - Complimentary buffet breakfast - Minimalist room decor with funky/industrial aesthetic Cons - Signage not visible from road - Room on smaller side, particularly for more than one person This was a good choice for an overnight stay while attending a concert at the nearby Coastal Credit Union Amphitheater. Room was cute and clean. I was not familiar with the brand of hair and body care products they use (Not Soap Radio) but they smell great and work well. Bed was comfortable enough and there were plenty of pillows. Hopefully particular to our room, there were a couple of minor issues in the bathroom - the toilet was one that "rocks and clanks" when sitting or standing, and the water comes out of the faucet sink at a startling full blast if you're not careful.

The desk clerk was very friendly. I was pleased to see that they have free EV chargers since I have a plug-in hybrid. The room was not very large. It was generally clean, but the walls could use a wipe down. Also, the toilet was not securely bolted down and clanked when you sat down. Breakfast was decent for a free breakfast.

Hilton is sorely missing properties in the downtown Raleigh area. Yes, there's the "downtown"…read moreHampton that is a serious walk from the capitol. And there's a DoubleTree near the University. But everything else is on the inner perimeter road, five or so miles from the city. This is the one to the south. It is perhaps a 15 minute drive to or from downtown with the traffic. This was a good stay. The hotel was quiet and that is the number one thing I need. Yes, it was also clean and there was plenty of space in my assigned room that faced the front parking lot. Sunday afternoon into evening was loud from motorcycles at the nearby biker spot but the rest of the week was quiet. Breakfast was standard Hampton with scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat, bread for toasting, a waffle maker, fruits, yogurts and juices. Well cared for. They could perhaps use some more parking. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. I had a good stay. [Review 11906 overall, 1688 of 2019.]

She told me my room had no view and offered to find me one with a view. And I eventually got a different room. I enjoyed the view and the cleanliness of the room. My room had a full sized refrigerator, a dish washer and a kitchenette with a microwave and a glass stove. It also had a little sofa, a writing desk, a tv, a king bed and a shower stall with a toilet in the bathroom. There is a wardrobe and a luggage holder. The lady cleaning my room also did a great job. Francine did a wonderful job cleaning my room. I appreciate all the eork they do. The breakfast area is standard to homewood suites. Has a variety of food- cereal station, fruits on some days that's already washed and cut. And sausages, hash browns, potatoes and bacon on different days. There is always hot coffee, regular and decaf, as well as tea, orange juce, apple juice and water available. Also, the condition of the rooms are better than some of the other hotels in the same area Overall, a wonderful stay. I will be back.

However, pay attention to your bill on checkout. The system did not automatically apply the credit and I had to have them correct it on checkout. The lady at the desk was super apologetic and did not understand why the system did apply it automatically. She quickly applied it and all was good. The breakfast at the Park Bar & Grill on site here was ok. Even though they have it buffet style, you can ask them to make you eggs or omelettes your way, so be advised, you don't have to eat the powered eggs they have on the buffet, you can get fresh eggs! The location in Cary was perfect for me. It was close to the city close to my work location in Cary, and was right next to a shopping center with everything you might need. I would definitely stay here again!

Our room was a king with a sofa bed and it also had a mini fridge. It was quiet all night long. The location was great as we were in perfect proximity to Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. It's a great central location. As gold members, we were granted $15 in credit each day for breakfast. For $10 a day, you can enjoy cereals, breads, and other dry foods. For the additional $5, you can eat eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. We were happy to get this credit as it saved us a lot on breakfast in the mornings. The only silly part was that it was about $3 extra for pancakes or waffles. I've been to hotels all across the world and that's always included in the continental price. Odd and something to be aware of if you have littles, but didn't really matter to us. The gym and indoor pool were nice for the level of hotel. I'd recommend!

The Umstead Hotel - I still NEED to know the brand of hand lotion in the ladies' room -- so calming! Next time I visit I'l be booking a spa treatment for sure.

I am so glad I chose this property to experience the benefit. As you can see from the photos, the king room is absolutely gorgeous and so plush. There are so many little details about the way that the rooms are crafted as well as the square footage that are obvious indications that they intentionally designed every room for comfort and luxury. I received a Lakeview room that was absolutely gorgeous. I really do enjoy how they style the bathrooms to have the private toilet with both the tub and shower bathing options. I also love all of the integrated technology conveniences throughout. There is a separate seating area and desk area, which sometimes other hotels compromise on and blend both together instead of having them intentionally be separate zones. What was also a fabulous touch was the complementary Pinot Noir wine, the complementary chocolate, and spring water and filtered water sprinkled throughout the room. The mini bar was well stocked, but I will say I was a bit disappointed in the beverage choices. It seemed a little bit overdone and underwhelming. What I appreciate the most is the soft touch lighting panels in each area of the room that allows you to control ambient and fluorescent lighting. For business travelers like myself who arrive late in the evening, it is such a comfort to be able to control the level of lighting in a room. Overall, excellent stay and Ms Tuesdi at the front desk is an absolute delight. I really hope that they promote her because she is the quintessential hospitality Employee.

After my spa visit I headed to the pool and was seated in a spot with an umbrella, as requested. Unfortunately, the umbrella was broken and I had to move myself to a spot with a functioning umbrella. Next, we ordered drinks, which we both were enjoying until the staff walked by and swiped up my unfinished drink. He didn't ask if I wanted anything, just silently took it and kept moving. My husband decided to keep his drink in hand for the rest of his, and when he was done the guy drove by and snatched his up. He didn't stop to ask if we needed anything else. I was planning to have drinks and lunch by the pool, but after that moment I decided I was done with the Umstead pool and left.
