Hilton is sorely missing properties in the downtown Raleigh area. Yes, there's the "downtown" Hampton that is a serious walk from the capitol. And there's a DoubleTree near the University. But everything else is on the inner perimeter road, five or so miles from the city. This is the one to the south. It is perhaps a 15 minute drive to or from downtown with the traffic. This was a good stay. The hotel was quiet and that is the number one thing I need. Yes, it was also clean and there was plenty of space in my assigned room that faced the front parking lot. Sunday afternoon into evening was loud from motorcycles at the nearby biker spot but the rest of the week was quiet. Breakfast was standard Hampton with scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat, bread for toasting, a waffle maker, fruits, yogurts and juices. Well cared for. They could perhaps use some more parking. BEDBUGS!!! Book 6/16/26 for two nights. Woke up in the early hours of 6/17 to find bed bugs. Immediately went to front desk - was informed they were sold out. No attempt to have me show them the bugs, I attempt was made to relocate me to a sister property. Reached out to Hilton and was told the property would reach out to me - NOTHING has happened - no calls, no communication - nothing. PS - diamond member for 4+ years. This Hampton Inn is located in Garner just outside of downtown Raleigh. It was an easy 25 min drive from the airport. The rooms are nice size and very clean. A large screen TV, lots of outlets and USB's for all of your electrics. There is a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom has all the amenities you will need for your stay. The staff was excellent from the person that checked us in, to the lady that kept replenishing the breakfast bar, to the staff that cleaned the rooms. Nothing fancy, but checks all the boxes for an overnight or even a few days stay. read more

As a Hilton Honors member, I have come to expect a certain level of customer service and cleanliness when it comes to staying at one of the Hilton properties. Unfortunately, that was not the case when I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Garner, NC. The positive experience was dealing with Bonnie, who checked us in. She was pleasant and provided information she thought we would want or need. But it went downhill from there! On Friday morning when I prepared to take a shower, I found an unidentified pest crawling in the bathtub. After shooting some video and killing it, I proceeded to alert the front desk of what I found. I was informed that the manager wasn't in yet but she would be notified. She never responded so later on I went back to the front desk to ask to speak with her. A woman who identified herself as "Samantha" came to the desk. She said she was aware that someone had complained but she didn't know the room number. I'm not sure why since I gave the the woman I spoke with my room number and she identified me by my name. Samantha was less than cordial. Her attitude was "What do you want me to do about it?!" I told her the first thing I expected was an apology (which she never gave) and for the problem to be addressed---which she apparently never did because the very next morning there was another bug in the bathroom. Front desk staff was polite. Booked 2 night stay for spouse and I $280.00. Handicapped unit was extremely small. Unfortunately, we did not receive any discounts and or incentives offered or provided. My spouse is retired military and I am a current federal government employee. The room was clean. However, there were no welcome in beverages (water) and or mints. Went out to dinner but we were unable to reheat food. (No microwave access). Breakfast was awful! There were additional attempts to charge my credit card after paying in advance and our incidental fee was not refunded. I am disappointed because we haven't experienced this in the past at other Hilton locations. Hopefully, this information will be useful! No plans on returning to this hotel location. read more

Spotless hotel, friendly staff and clean room. No hairs in the bathroom !! That's all You can ask for. COVID services limited (but not price) so its not fully functioning. No housekeeping (I guess COVID is airborne in that hotel only)... and breakfast is less than desirable. But its a cheap Hilton and you get points !!! read more

We had a nice 2 day stay. It began with the very pleasant clerk at the desk. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a couch. The hotel is quiet and clean. The breakfast was well prepared and I especially enjoyed the smoothie bar. I recommend staying if you have business near Garner. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The parking lot is tiny and not very well-lit; however, the hotel has obviously been remodeled. The fixtures were new, and the room was comfortable. The hotel is a bit tricky to find, especially at night, but that is a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. read more

Smaller than usual Hampton Inn. Probably about 20 rooms per floor, three floors. Older building but remodeled. Staff is very friendly and night watch always has a smile and is courteous. Hard to even know of the location from the street since its a little bit in the back, but its comfortable enough. read more

I stayed here with my family for one night in August 2010. The bathroom, which was uncomfortably tiny, had a couple of problems: the faucet control was extremely loose and wobbly (which wouldn't be a huge problem unless, like me, you have a toddler and don't want said toddler to be burned by hot water) and the tub drain was slower than slow. I have no idea what was blocking the tub, but it took 15 minutes for the water from a shower to drain out. Breakfast the next day was also blah. Coffee was gray and old at 8:00 (reheated from yesterday, I suspect - it was that bad) and juices were really diluted. There are ways to save money, and these can't be the most effective. If you're looking for a no frills, decent, inexpensive hotel, this one is perfect. My only two complaints are that the TV did not have streaming capability (so no Netflix) and the walls must be incredibly thin. I'm not sure if the people were above us or beside us but we could hear them talking, not yelling, just talking. And our room was on the first floor next to the stairwell and exit door and across the hall from the ice machine and Fitness center. I had no idea there were so many people who used the stairs instead of elevator, especially at 4am. The complimentary breakfast was good with plenty of variety, the staff was helpful and friendly, the room was clean (but showing its age) and the bed was comfortable. The best part was this Hampton Inn was far cheaper than anything I could fine in Raleigh or Cary and with close proximity to I-40, you could be where you needed to go quickly. I travel on business often and am a Hilton Gold member. I no showed to this hotel and they charged me for the night due to a travel mix up. I normally would call and cancel, but due to circumstances out of my control, was unable to call. The manager would not refund my stay for 1 night. I would not recommend this hotel. The hotel was satisfactory. House keeping was unbelievable. We left the hotel early in the morning for a day trip. We returned at 3:30 to find that the room had not been made up. Tried to contact housekeeping but no one answered the phone. Called the front desk and was told that vacant rooms were done first then stay overs. We asked to have the room made up. At 4:30 housekeeping shows up. By that time we were changing to go out and asked them to come back in 30 minutes. Had a visit from housekeeping in a short time and was told it had to be done now since they were leaving for the day. Told them just to give us new towels. This hotel was nice and quiet. Staff was very nice and polite. Coffee and breakfast were good. The only thing that's weird is the parking on both sides you can't really see your vehicle in the lot unless you're on either end. read more

The power went out from a snowstorm at my parents' home so I booked them a room at this hotel for a night. We were able to get the very last room available in the hotel. In general, Hampton Inns are not the most luxurious and fancy hotels, and this particular one is not located in the most attractive neighborhood. Being that it's not too far from the house with a $99 rate, I figured it would suffice for a hot shower and warm place sleep for a night based on positive reviews. My parents said they were a little concerned when they first pulled in but immediately impressed by the inside lobby and rooms that had been obviously gutted and updated with a more fresh and modern look and feel. Their room was very clean and comfortable, with free wifi to surf the web and catch up on work as they pleased. The next morning, they were able to get a hot breakfast downstairs and didn't have to return home on empty stomachs. All in all, they are glad to have had a very clean, very comfortable and convenient stay, and pleased by the hotel and their friendly staff and service. read more

Was on our way from Ohio to Emerald Isle NC and needed somewhere to stay for a night when another Hampton Inn was full called this one 20 miles down the road and the hotel person taking the reservation was very nice and we confirmed 2 rooms for our traveling family. Upon arrival rooms were ready hotel staff supper nice and cordial rooms were fine, clean and suitable. Hotel staff gave a great dinner recommendation and diner was lovely. Night stay was pleasant and breakfast in the morning was equally as lovely! If traveling would recommend this hotel to anyone a little off the beaten path of I-40 but for the cheaper nightly price & less busy well worth a stay !!! read more

This particular Hampton Inn has clearly gotten some poor reviews, though I don't know why. Yes, it is an older building. However, the interior is terrific. Rooms are very comfortable, quiet and clean. Terrific hospitality and all of the amenities that I get it any Hampton Inn. Great food is readily available nearby. I slept like a rock and woke up refreshed, which is the whole point to me. I've never been disappointed with Hampton Inn and wasn't disappointed here either. I'd stay again. read more

My in-laws met us in Garner for a weekend in the Raleigh area. They had a small calamity, and this hotel made it all work out very well. Here is their comment: "A tree limb broke out the windshield of our car while on vacation.
