It also had a little sofa, a writing desk, a tv, a king bed and a shower stall with a toilet in the bathroom. There is a wardrobe and a luggage holder. The lady cleaning my room also did a great job. Francine did a wonderful job cleaning my room. I appreciate all the eork they do. The breakfast area is standard to homewood suites. It was the…read morepreferred hotel, and we were given a good rate and the buffet breakfast (normally $14.95 I think) was included. I didn't have an opportunity to eat the breakfast, however! Other Hiltons I've been to had free coffee in the lobby, but this one did not. There was a small shop, where you could make yourself a not-very-good cup of coffee or buys some snacks, beer & wine, then had to go to the check-in area to pay for it. Not too convenient. There is a bar that is open in the evenings, and they close around 10, depending on the evening. Every bartender I encountered was cranky or impatient or dismissive. They certainly didn't act like they wanted our business. Luckily we were told that we could consume our own alcohol if the bar was closed, which is what we did. Other reviews mention an on-site restaurant but I did not notice one. The breakfast is set up by the bar in the lobby and I never saw or was offered any other food. I saw several people bring food in or had it delivered. I never saw a room service menu, so I don't think that was an option. One thing I did like was their willingness to let groups gather in the public spaces. There is a large lobby with different seating areas. There was also a nice patio with fire-pit that was lovely at night. We were asked to please gather in one of these areas instead of someone's room and that worked great for our large group. The room was fine. Comfortable bed and pillows, and good blackout curtains. There were no extra amenities, such as shower cap, cotton balls, robe but there was an ironing board & iron, fridge, and coffee station. Only 2 towels in the room and no in-room safe. The layout of the room was odd in that you couldn't open the closet door and the bathroom door at the same time. One was always in the way of the other. Except for the manager who happened to check us in (Brian, maybe?) everyone else who I dealt with at the front counter was fairly rude. I asked one person about luggage storage or leaving stuff in the car, and she said "read the sign!" I started looking at a different sign, and she tapped the sign with her pen and barked, "THIS sign." Bathroom had Dove products, enough towels and really good water pressure. There was a fridge, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker with pods. There were enough ports to connect and charge our devices. I have vision problems and I really appreciate that this hotel has nice wide hallways that are well-lit with no dark corners. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food, coffee and tea, fruit and pastries. There's also a small area across from reception desk where you can buy snacks, essentials like toothpaste and microwaveable food. The only thing missing was beer and wine. The hotel does not have a license to sell alcohol but the Marriott next door (short walk) has a full bar. The hotel has recently gone thru a complete renovation and everything looks and feels upgraded. After staying for 4 nights, we had gotten to know some of the staff who were all super sweet. We drank a lot of hot tea and they were always happy to refill the hot water pitcher for us. I was grateful for how welcoming everyone was to my dog as well. In fact, we saw a lot of other pups there! There's a nice area out back to walk your dog along with a clean up station. The breakfast spread was the best part! There was such a big selection to choose from including toast, bagels, eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, grits, pancakes, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and probably more that I'm forgetting. They had almond and oat milk as well which we appreciated. Our room itself was super clean and very comfy. We loved having the Google connect option on the (gigantic!) TV to play Netflix and Hulu from my iPad. The kitchen is awesome. We did pick up some frozen dinners from Trader Joe's so it was nice to have the option to cook in our room. We also stopped at a local produce farm and bought a bunch of veggies so we appreciated having a full fridge to store everything. I walked my dog at night without any safety concerns. The parking lot is well lit and there are usually some people milling about. Be sure to check out the great restaurants in the shopping plaza too. I'm moving to the area in a few months and would feel confident about having my family and friends stay here when they come to visit. We had a great time! Wanted to add a few things after reading the other comments. Yep there are carpet stains in the hallway. Also, I saw little kids taking food back to their rooms and spilling stuff on the carpet so it's probably really hard to maintain a clean hallway. I wouldn't deduct any stars just for that, seems unfair that the hotel should be penalized for people not watching their kids. Also, our room was meticulously clean when we arrived. The dishes, the fridge, the counters, bathroom, carpet etc. Our only issue was the shower curtain being super short so water would leak out the sides. Again, not a big deal in my book. We still preferred staying here over an Air B&B.

A sign in the bathroom area tells you that longer stays receive a weekly deep-cleaning, but that we could always let the front desk know if we had any needs in between. I found the weekly deep-cleaning to be sufficient, especially since the housekeepers made their rounds during the week and we'd be able to ask them for extra toilet paper, soap, etc. I'm a huge fan of J.R. Watkins' lavender lotion and was surprised and delighted to see that this hotel uses J.R. Watkins for their shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. This hotel is also pretty eco-conscious in that their showers have full-sized dispensers rather than the individual mini bottles that people dispose at such a quick rate. The beds are pretty comfortable and I never had any issues with dirty linens, etc. The kitchen has a moderately sized fridge and freezer, and we were able to have home-cooked meals pretty regularly. The hotel definitely supplies enough cookware, dinnerware and glassware to make your stay as comfortable and homey as possible. The gym was off-limits due to COVID-19 precautions, and they stopped their normal breakfast service. However, the hotel pivoted and made sure to provide individual breakfast-to-go bags that came with a mini water bottle, fresh fruit (apple or orange), breakfast bar and muffin. I was really impressed by this since other hotels that offer breakfast closed up entirely without offering any alternatives. Last, but not least, the staff here from the front-desk to the housekeepers were always very friendly and attentive. They truly helped us make the most of a tumultuous situation and I am so grateful to them for their kindness!

If there is chalk on the ground by the pool, they know it's Owen. If the elevator is going up and down without anyone getting off, it could be Owen.........or me. I am active duty Navy with 19 and half years of Service. At 38, although not old, I'm no spring chicken anymore. Apparently, sleep is very important and I haven't been getting much of it as of late. I left normal time and didn't even hit any traffic. I stopped in New Jersey, twice: a 30 minute rest at the Vince Lombardi service area so that I can make it to my normal Delaware stop but that didn't happen. I made it to a service area only a few miles from my first stop and two hours ended up being six straight slept in the car. Today (11/6/19) was Owens birthday and he had his four year check up at 11 am that I was trying to make it to. I've only been to a couple of his doctor visits and always try to schedule my leave around those kind of events. I also wanted to get in early so that I could wrap his birthday presents that I've been so tired to do prior to coming here but didn't have time for that either. I checked in the hotel by 2 pm and was greeted and welcomed back. Owen was asked about and I told them that I was bringing him back later in the evening and that he was having a birthday party at his step dad/moms house. I mentioned that I didn't have time to wrap his gifts because I over rested and without hesitation, Nickie the General Manager, said she would wrap them and put them in the room. My revised plan was to just put the presents under the blankets and have him peel the blanket back one present at a time but looks like I didn't have to do that.....thankfully. I left her with all the gifts and wrapping paper and said she would have it all taken care of by the time I returned in a couple of hours. I left at 2:45 and returned about 6:15. Owen slept on the way and I carried him to the room. He knew he had presents there but neither of us knew what it would look like . I opened the door and found the best looking display of gifts that even I put together myself. It was a wall of presents, nicely wrapped and I didn't notice till later that Nickie also brought him cupcakes and a YUGE trash bag for the used wrapping paper. She even placed some of the fragile toys in boxes that I didn't provide and bubble wrap around one that really needed it and that again, I didn't provide. At first, Owen wasn't impressed. He was tired and waking up from a 30 min nap that could have lead to an all night slumber. Once he saw it, he got into it and unwrapped them all like a mad man......a 4 year old mad man. As a father, especially as only being physically present part time, I felt the biggest sense of relief that that went better as planned and the track record that I keep for myself is unscathed. We caught Nickie before she left and thanked her for something that she clearly didn't have to do and went above and beyond for. She and a couple of others are great every time we visit; Mary and Teresa are a couple that I always interact with during my stay and there are a lot more here who are just some awesome and caring human beings. If you ever find yourself traveling through North Carolina, whether you are staying for the night or just passing by (lots of eating, activities, and shopping opportunities surrounding this hotel), stop on by and say hello and that Owen sent you.
