This hotel is mediocre. Dirty, bugs, horrible beds. The breakfast is atrocious! We'd recommend staying anywhere else.

Yes, it was also clean and there was plenty of space in my assigned room that faced the front parking lot. Sunday afternoon into evening was loud from motorcycles at the nearby biker spot but the rest of the week was quiet. Breakfast was standard Hampton with scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat, bread for toasting, a waffle maker, fruits, yogurts and juices. Well cared for. They could perhaps use some more parking. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. I had a good stay. [Review 11906 overall, 1688 of 2019.]

Everything was landscaped nicely and debris free in the lot and walk up. The parking lot was adequate size, however most parking is side and rear. A nice greeting on check-in and no hiccups on an early arrival. Luggage carts were a welcome sight. The lobby is spacious with decor modern and attractive. They have a convenience area to purchase candy, drinks and even children's books. They also have computers for guest to use. My king room was ready for my arrival. I loved how much room there was and the kitchen with cook top, refrigerator and microwave was all I needed. It also comes with eating utensils and plates. The bathroom with adjacent sink outside the door was a nice set up and worked. There was also proper supplies of towel and soap. The climate control kept the room comfortable. I utilized the FREE breakfast once and found it more than adequate with a lot of variety of both hot and cold. There was visible staff attending it and they kept the bar and dining room clean. I did interact with the staff quite a bit before departing due to a snow short that hit the area. They were nice enough to lend me items to clear my car. The lot unfortunately was not cleared, but few businesses were. I do plan on returning to this terrific property. 4.5, rounding up.

When discussion was initiated pursuant to this discrepancy in room rate, the front desk concierge (Jay) was defensive, arrogant, evasive and unresponsive to addressing this issue with specificity as it pertained to a resolution of conflict. The answer provided was simply this is a 'mistake' and the ensuing implication was nothing would be done in my favor ...... period.

The machine did not take cards (who carries cash these days). Went to the front desk to ask for change. Told that they don't do that.... ???? My face must have shown my shock. The owner of the Garner, NC location stated that since he was there he would do it.... There were 7 of us for lunch - he gave me only 5 one dollar bills. I guess we didn't all need a drink after being out in 90 degree heat for hours at graduation. Continental breakfast, hope you don't want bread. The English muffins and bread were hard as a rock. The last morning there the one and only waffle maker was broken. There was construction EVERYWHERE, including directly in front of the hotel. There was no outside benches or anywhere to sit if you wanted fresh air, unless you wanted to sit by the pool. We didn't expect a 5 star hotel, but it wouldn't take much to make it a much better experience.

The breakfast at the Park Bar & Grill on site here was ok. Even though they have it buffet style, you can ask them to make you eggs or omelettes your way, so be advised, you don't have to eat the powered eggs they have on the buffet, you can get fresh eggs! Our room was a king with a sofa bed and it also had a mini fridge. It was quiet all night long. The location was great as we were in perfect proximity to Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. It's a great central location. As gold members, we were granted $15 in credit each day for breakfast. For $10 a day, you can enjoy cereals, breads, and other dry foods. For the additional $5, you can eat eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. We were happy to get this credit as it saved us a lot on breakfast in the mornings. The only silly part was that it was about $3 extra for pancakes or waffles. I've been to hotels all across the world and that's always included in the continental price. Odd and something to be aware of if you have littles, but didn't really matter to us. The gym and indoor pool were nice for the level of hotel. I'd recommend!

On the wedding day, they even steamed my dress as a surprise, which I really appreciated. Our wedding coordinator was organized and incredibly helpful in managing the timeline, making sure everything ran smoothly and on schedule. One thing to note is that the venue is fairly strict about outside vendors not on their preferred list. Thankfully, our photographer already had liability insurance, but there were a few extra personal touches we had to forgo due to these guidelines. The complimentary suite included in our package was a highlight--spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for getting ready with friends and family. The bed was very comfortable, though the multi-head shower took some getting used to. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches: handwritten notes, complimentary champagne and chocolates at check-in, and another bottle of champagne along with a small piece from the Michael Aram Anemone collection on our wedding night--such a special gesture. Food for both the cocktail hour and reception met our expectations, and many of our guests had great things to say about the quality and hospitality. Our signature cocktails--the Old Fashioned and espresso martini--were solid and well-made. Overall, they truly took great care of us and helped make our wedding day feel special.
