My compliments to Springfield Yellow Cab drive #78. I left something in his cab and he returned it to me 10 days later. Good to know there are honest people left in this world. Forever grateful. Pat N. read more

Springfield Yellow Cab 703-451-2255 has excellent service. We call them the day before for 4AM (for example) pickup. Always out there waiting early. I leave my bag on the front porch and they'll get it for me and put in trunk. When I had to use a walker they helped me get into the car and then they put it in trunk, and reverse when we arrived. Cabs always extremely clean. I highly recommend. Do not be fooled by other companies calling themselves Yellow Cab or other similar names. It's confusing! I always go by the phone number. They've been around 40+ years. FYI, YELP, some of these reviews are VERY old and credit card issues people are complaining about are no longer an issue. It will be helpful to put the most recent review at the top. read more

This past week , I've needed your services multiple times. Pickup from my home to by job has been quick, pleasant, and uneventful. However, pickup from my place of employment back to my home has been a nightmare. On Sunday, Feb 2, I called for pickup at 5:45 pm and waited till 7:15pm for a driver to arrive. This was after repeated calls. Someone said they had no drivers " maybe for an hour, maybe longer"! The next day, yesterday, I tried booking the ride ahead for 6:30 pm, thinking that would solve the problem. Instead, I waited two hours, called repeatedly, and got multiple texts claiming a driver was on the way. My sister arranged an Uber for me so I could finally get home. This would have been 20 minute ride. My job is at the Loisdale shopping center. read more

I was overcharged. The day before, I booked online to be picked up for a ride to DCA at 11:00 a.m. I got an estimate for the fare between $16-$18. The day of I received a text asking if I wanted to prepay the fare by credit card. I clicked on the link, was shown a fare of $17.20 and I added a 25% tip, bringing the fare to $21.50. I was waiting early at 10:45 because I received a text that my driver was 5 minutes away (he wasn't). I put my suitcase on the sidewalk and waited. At 11:01 the cab turned around in the driveway and pulled up to the curb. "Moses" took my suitcase and put it in the trunk. I got in and we drove away at 11:02 according to the dashboard clock. When I got to the airport I was told the fare, with 25% tip, was $28.25. I went inside and called the company to complain and was told I would get a refund for the $6.75 difference, but later he called me back and said the fare was $18.80 (above the $16-$18 estimate) and read a bunch of extra charges that shouldn't have pertained to me. For example, a $2.80 wait fee, even though I was the one who was waiting. (That equates to him waiting 7 minutes for me, which is totally false.) Other than their shady charges on my card, the ride was fine (and only 1 minute later than I requested.) read more

On time, professional & courteous! Arrived a few minutes ahead of time but waited for me to gather a few last minute items.

Exceptional service. Our cab was prompt and ready to go at a very early time. It made a great start to a wonderful trip.

A shout out to cab #44 and #36. What a great couple of guys. Our guest love it when they pick up and drop off for us. A shout out to Lisa and Zack as well. Thank you all for what you do. read more

I was picked up in the rain this morning. Supporting the need for taxis to continue to be available, I chose to book with a cab instead of Uber. Usually the drivers from Springfield cab are really nice and really helpful. This driver sat in his car watching me struggle with my bag all dressed up in the rain. He sat there and opened the tailgate so I could load my bag as well and then figure out how to open the van door myself - all while standing in the rain. Next time Uber may be the better plan. I miss people helping each other. read more

As I sit here in Union Station, I stew. Having just missed my 5:30 am train to NYC, I have about an hour to kill before the next available train and I've decided to take this time to try and figure out what went wrong. I guess my first mistake was calling Springfield Yellow Cab 24 hours in advance to schedule a pickup time that would allow me 45 minutes to take an easy, 30 minute trip. Big mistake. After going downstairs and seeing no cab in sight at the scheduled time, I figured I could give them the courtesy of a few extra minutes before calling in to ask for an ETA. After 3 or 4 minutes, I called in and was told "Our driver is running just few minutes late this morning". And here I thought the idea if pre-scheduling of a pickup time the day before might prevent any need for 'running', silly me. Little did I know just how much running would actually be involved, literally. I'm giving them 1 star for balls. After the driver eventually showed up 15 minutes late, he ran his meter while we idled in the cash toll lanes, he ran red lights, he ran stop signs .... and I ran for my train, only to watch it pull away as I ran up the platform. Finally, Amtrak ran my credit card for an additional "no show" charge and reservation change fees. If you're thinking about using Springfield Yellow Cab, don't walk away - RUN!!!! read more

Filled out an on-line reservation for a taxi trip with Yellow Cab Services on 2/19/20 for a 10 AM pickup on 2/20/20 for a ride to Reagan Airport. I shortly got an email confirmation, Also asked for a telcal as they were on their way for pickup. At 10;05 AM I finally called their dispatch and was told they did not have my reservation, but would send someone. But then would not give me an estimate on how long until pickup. Thank Heavens our neighbor happened to be home and volunteered to take us. Therefore we did not miss our flight. If you like this kind of service, I suggest you call them. If, like me, you do not like that, then I highly recommend you do not call/email them. UPDATE!!! Springfield Cab has looked into it and found my experience was actually with Ashburn Yellow Cab. My apologies to Springfield Yellow Cab. Doug R read more

I have used this company for years UNTIL today. Glad I tried Alexandria Cab-no hassles over credit cards and you swipe your own card. Every single airport run lately your cabbies have hassled and argued with me over accepting my credit card and I'm sick of it. Curbside at 5AM is not the time to demand cash from me. When I get into a cab the first thing I do is verify that AMEX is accepted. Last time my driver argued about accepting my Visa and then pulled out an old paper knuckle buster and proceeded to make a copy of my card on paper claiming his terminal Was broken. Gimme a break. Guess what? Within a few days my card was compromised and closed due to fraud and I immediately assumed it was the driver. Anyway, farewell and fair warning to you. The cab commission is my next stop. read more

I really wish I had read the reviews before getting a cab from this company. I needed a cab from Woodbridge to the Springfield metro and booked a taxi through Springfield Yellow Cab in the early morning for later that evening. The customer service on the phone was fine, but the driver was 35 min late and the cab REEKED of smoke. Before ordering the cab I had made sure over the phone that they accepted credit cards, so imagine my surprise when I get ready to pay and the driver pulls out a credit card slip to write on (because apparently they think it's still 1998). Fine, I'm already 45 minutes late - because the driver had to stop and get gas too - so what's another 5 minutes. As we're finishing up our transaction, I sign for the amount of the fare and didn't add tip because I was going to pay the tip in cash. The driver notices I didn't add tip and starts pressuring me to add a tip amount. Un-freaking-believable! This guy is so lucky I'm bad at remembering names, otherwise I would have called the company directly to complain. Bottom line: if you have a choice, don't give your money to this company. There are so many other taxicab options in the Northern Virginia area. read more

Due to me being hit in an auto accident which resulted myself w/a broken leg & a totaled car, I reserved a cab ride online @ 9:30 am the day before to pick me up in w. Springfield & take me to my dr. in Burke, a 4mile ride basically! 9:35, i call them to ask why isn't my cab here to take me to my 10:15 appt! What I was told: "We cannot find a cab to come to your location"! I call back @ 10am, the same answer even though I made reservations the day before & I only live like 6miles from the Springfield metro station. You mean to tell me it's that damn difficult to make abt a 10 mile trip?! Glad my dr. didn't charge me for a no show!! You would've thought I was calling them from Orlando, like im that damn far! Springfield yellow cab=simpletons! Unacceptable! read more

I've only used them once as I usually drive to the airport, but I have to say I am really, really confused with the poor rankings. One has to question why a person uses them for four years, has a bad exprience & gives them one star. The ONLY negative was the estimate on line was $30 & it ended up costing up $40 (Burke to Reagan). No problems at all with the dispatcher -- the driver arrived within 5 minutes of the estimated time. We say the driver pull up, so he didn't have a chance to call. When he got there, he immediately hopped out, opened the door for us, used a towel to wipe the seats (I guess to get dust off as they were spotless) & opened his trunk. When he saw us with bags, he came at got them promptly This was the cleanest newest cab that I've taken in quite a while in this area. The driver was very courteous, professional, and a good driver. I will definitely call them again the next time I use a cab in the area. read more

Hey springfield yellow cab, can you stop screwing over your drivers with 7% charge on credit cards so I can actually do credit card. The drivers ALWAYS complain about it... it's annoying. HOWEVER, that being said. They have the nicest drivers statistically. You're looking at a 1/3 chance of a douche driver. Far better than the other taxis in the areas 2/3 douche rates read more

I lived in Alexandria for a year. I never rely on Springfield Yellow. I try to call Alexandria Yellow but being on the other side of the bridge. I can take there cab. Every one own there own cab. by doing that their heating there own company. To many hot head and jude mental. They chose who they pick up.People in wheel chair hard time in getting around. While the cab arrived in short order after being called, there was clearly a communication problem. I said "National Airport"; the driver heard "The most expensive route!" We left Sheey Ford on Loisdale rd, Springfield. I told the driver to take Glebe road. He said "this way faster". I said, "Take Glebe." He passed Glebe, and took the interstate. I was following the route on my phone, and as soon as he passed Glebe, I saw the miles to the destination shoot up by 3 miles. At least give the passengers a choice: faster or shorter. And, to add one point, I don't see Yellow Cab defending against ANY of these allegations on here or other sites. I hope he doesn't spend his .15 tip all in one place. read more

This Springfield Yellow Cab was at the head of the line of taxi cabs when we arrived at the West Falls Church Metro station. We had a nice chat with the driver about the hybrid that he was driving as an independent. Our trip to the hotel was a bit faster and cheaper than the evening prior. read more

The drivers are great however their company customer service, coordinators, and management is sub par! If you call them to schedule a ride, 9 out of 10 times they do not communicate that to a taxi driver and so you are left without one. They really need to revamp the company and teach them how a business works. Really disappointed in the overall company. Will not use the company again. read more

Totally agree with the other poster who said they have the nicest drivers. Had a great experience with Springfield Cab 99 driver yesterday - wonderfully polite caring individual who helped me get where I needed to go. Looking at some of the other posts - obviously people make mistakes, but not everyone is a truly good person like this gentleman. read more

First review: I did not have any issues with this company. This is my first time using them but the dispatcher was friendly enough and the cab driver was nice. They called when they were out front. Prices were the standard cab fare for the area. Second Review: the first time I rode with this company I would've given them a 4. This morning however I had a completely different experience. The cab driver showed up and didn't even get out of the car to open the trunk or anything for me to put me luggage in so I threw it in the back seat. Then, he tried scamming me by telling me that the metro was backed up today and that he should probably just drive me to the airport. Well, I checked out the metro status and knew he was lying so I just had him take me there. That cabbie just lost this company a customer. read more

Let me tell you about these douchebags.. My brother is a cancer survivor on full disability. he's so messed up he can't drive. He lives in springfield, va. His companion animal, a cat, got bit and has a huge infection. He lives on $680 a month plus food stamps. So I find a vet 1.8 miles from his house on rolling road and set it up so I can pay the vet for the cat via credit card (I live in california). I call these guys to order a cab for him (based on google maps, it's a $9.75 trip). I have the appointment for 5 hours before I call. These morons absolutely refuse to take my plastic, insisting that the only way they'll do it is if he has the plastic! End of the month, he doesn't have $20 to his name. So, no vet, cat not treated, these idiots blew the whole thing. If there ever was a case for Uber or Lyft, this company made it in spades! Never ever again! read more

This is THE WORST company.... I made arrangements 4 days prior for them to pick me up at 4am for a flight. The night before my flight, I called to confirm and they said I was "all set." At 3:45 I called to make sure a driver was on the way and I was told there were no drivers available and I wouldn't be accommodated until 4:30 or later. I don't even understand how they are still in business. read more

The phone operators are total a-holes!!!! I could hear the trailer trash dispatcher talking bad about the Senior Resident I was calling for.. I phone in a lot for my job at a retirement community. The drivers hardly speak English so make sure you have a translator on your phone. read more

Did not make scheduled time. Did not call to let us know. Scheduled a pickup to be driven to the airport for 6 PM on a Sunday night. At 6:05 PM, I called them to check on the cab. They said, without apology, that they were trying to get me a cab. I would have expected that they would have notified me prior to 6:00 that they were not going to make it on time. I told them to cancel the reservation and had my wife drive me. At 6:06 PM, we received a call from Springfield Cab and they indicated, non-chalantly, that the cab was on the way. My wife asked how long (5 minutes would have been OK). They said, 15-20 minutes. You would think in this kind of business that the company would understand the importance of time, especially when someone has arranged for a ride to an airport. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will not allow them to fool me again. read more

Can showed up late, took me to the wrong place, stopped for gas and then made me pay for the entire fair? A $25 ride became a $50 ride? Fuck this company. I'll never use them again read more

Was apprehensive at first due to seeing the Yelp ratings. However, I had a very very pleasant experience from start to finish. The agent on the phone who booked my cab was very pleasant and spoke great English. I truly appreciated getting my texts updates from my booking reservations to the cab being on his way to the cab arriving at my front door (3 seperate texts). Cab driver was very pleasant and courteous. Car was clean. Most importantly on time!!! I will surely use them again in the future. read more

I have never had a worse experience than I just did with a cab company. The man answering the phone was rude, dismissive, and didn't care what I needed. Then I had to wait in the car for 20 min while the driver called the taxi company to authorize my card, and borrowed my pen. Worse experience ever, I will never use them again...I'd rather walk home. read more

I wish i could leave a better review. I depend really heavily on cabs for transport to medical appointments. But I genuinely dread the ride when the cab is sent from these guys. The cabbies drive like a moonshiner trying to outrun the law and often seem alarmingly unsure of how to operate a navigation system. Please Yellow Cab, I am begging you. Train your drivers. read more

They have the NICEST drivers but the MOST RUDE customer service. Cant even get a sentence out without getting hung up on. I have used Springfield Yellow Cab over the past 4 years for trips between west Springfield and DCA. They are always on time when I preschedule the trip and always arrive within 15 minutes of ad-hoc call. Their drivers are always professional. This company is horrible. I've used them for 4 years and have no idea why. Every time I order a cab, they don't call me when they arrive, so after a while they just leave. Then recently, twice, I ordered a cab and it took more than 40 min to get to me so I cancelled them. Now they won't come because my "high frequency of 'no shows'" wtf?! First off, your drivers aren't notifying me upon arrival like I asked, also, you're telling me 10-15 min and 40 min goes by and no one can tell me where my driver is, and now no one is even being sent to me? Because of YOUR bad?? So I called this last time to complain to someone about the situation and how unsatisfied I was, and they hang up on me. Real professional guys. I'll never use this company again, and I've been a customer for 4 years. read more

During my last 5 experiences, I have had cab drivers that were at least 15-20 minutes late. One of the cab drivers blamed dispatch. When I call dispatch they usually say the cab will be there in minutes, which usually translates 10-15 minutes. Luckily, I always pad 30 minutes in to the time so that I don't end up being so late that I miss a bus, train, flight, etc. In each case I usually called the night before. read more

The absolute worst. Stick with Uber and Lyft. Even a city bus is preferable. The online reservation was incredibly easy to book which makes the horrible service that much worse. I have a disability that necessitates that I pad my travel time so that I am not exhausted by the effort it takes to travel. Not only was the driver 40 minutes late, but neither he nor the cab dispatcher made an effort to notify me of the delay. I finally reached someone in the office after a fifteen minute wild goose chase on their answering service. The dispatcher was indifferent, and unhelpful. While I sought another taxi service capable of transporting me, the driver called with defensive rationalizations as to why he was late. I couldn't find another cab so I was stuck with this company and arrived 45 minutes late to my destination. This service sucks. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I tried to schedule transportation for a corporate event. I had 12 people at a hotel that needed to get to an event. The hotel gave me the number for Springfield Yellow Cab when I called. After this review, I will call the hotel and advise them to NEVER recommend this company. I called well in advance to schedule pickup at the front of the hotel. I called back to confirm. A few minutes after the scheduled pickup time, no transportation. I called again and was told "we're working on it." Seriously? The girl I booked with was rude, defensive, unapologetic and offered no solution other than "we're working on it." After several unsuccessful attempts to get even a single cab there, I quickly cleaned out my personal vehicle and loaded some passengers. The rest of my group formed their own carpools and navigated their way to the event. It was really embarrassing to tell everyone that I had transportation for them and then watch 12 people stand outside of the hotel with no ride in sight. They ended up driving themselves in an unfamiliar city during rush hour and then trying to park in an area with limited parking. Not a great way to start the evening, but, luckily, things improved from there. Of course, there was nowhere to go but up after dealing with Springfield Yellow Cab. read more
