I was at the Springfield Self Storage at approximately 10 AM on January 16th 2024,the doors to the office were locked, the blinds pulled shut tight, even though the sign in the window indicated they were open. I was starting to get in my truck when a lady wearing a stocking cap opened the door stating "I'm in a corporate meeting what do you need?" I advised her I wanted to rent a unit to store my car in, I could come back as she turned around walking back into the building as I followed her. She never invited me to sit down showing me a paper stating these are the only two units we have available. I stated "I wonder if this unit would house a Buick" to which she replied "This is what we have you can get one or leave," I walked out getting into my truck I noticed the gate was open with no signs indicating no one could enter. I drove back finding a door open on a unit that would be perfect for what I needed. As I pulled through the gate I parked at the office the same woman came out of the office door with the same AT-TI-TUDE she had when we first met. She asked me if I just drove back into where the units were. I indicated I had and she asked me very rudely, "Do you have anything in storage here? When I told her no she told me "DON'T YOU KNOW THIS IS A GATED FACILITY? COMMON SENSE WOULD TELL YOU NOT TO ENTER A GATED COMMUNITY! When I told her the gate was open with no signs indicating do not come in she replied THE GATE IS BROKEN and I advised her there were no signs indicating what she told me. I told her that I hope she got a better AT-TITUDE got in my truck and left. I was going to rent the storage unit I found with the door open but with her AT-TI-TUDE I left. I rented a unit awhile back to store my car in at Springfield Self Storage and wanted to store my car there again, With this ladies AT-TI-TUDE who did not introduce herself I will not go back or recommend Springfield Self Storage. Bought a unit from one of their auctions. First off they didn't cut a log they unlocked it. Which made me wonder from jump street.but I bid on it for the shelves and counters in it for my garage.after returning to load the unit we noticed that the unit had once been flooded and everything was rotten on the bottom from the flooding. Absolutely nothing was salvageable. So the next day I told the girl up front that and they were welcome to my money I spent to clean it out. The owner should be taking better maintence car of his units and if he did then he would of known this area was flooded. He probably did know that and still actioned it off wanting someone to buy it and clean up his mistake.the girl up front said she'd send me a cleaning bill on top of what I already paid now tell me that's good business.i would warn others of the problems there and do yourself a favor don't store anything of value there or go to a auction where they don't cut the lock off before the auction as required by the state law read more
