Let's start with the obvious. It's as they say a hole "in the wall". That's where the negative stops. Yes it seems like your sitting in someone's kitchen. It's that small. The food however is bold and delicious. Obviously cooked to order by two wonderful woman the food is definitely tastes like it was cooked with love. With or without spice it was satisfying and a great value. My son ordered a chicken po boy. Generous portion of seasoned chicken on a fresh grinder roll with a seasoned mayo, lettuce and tomato. My son opted for fries but other items were available. I had a spectacular dish of shrimp and crawfish etouffee and asked for the spicy version. Served with cornbread it was amazing in flavor and value. This place fills the void for chef Wayne's. Will be going back for more! read more

My wife and I love good Cajun food. Our meals at Springdale Lunch in Holyoke were delicious. Just the right amount of Cajun heat in my Chicken Gumbo. And the Chicken with Crawfish Étouffée, and my wife's Blackened Tuna were perfectly prepared, as was the tasty cornbread that came with our meals. The place is small, but comfortable. The prices are fair. And the owner/chef is awesome. Our lunch was a real treat. We will be back. read more

New owner is friendly and welcoming. The food is made to order with care. This is a quaint diner in Holyoke with a Caribbean flair. The gumbo (andouille and pork) was to die for, just enough heat to bring out the flavor. Today I had the meat pie made with plantain and ground beef, also two thumbs up. If you eat-in, every seat is a Chefs Table, that's how small Springdale is, but the food is terrific, plentiful, and very reasonably priced. My suggestion is buy a couple of appetizers and entrees take out. I stopped at this spot for lunch today and I couldn't have been more impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. Cajun Cuisine hiding out in Holyoke, Mass. the Owner/Chef really has the talent. I had the Shrimp Gumbo Soup with Fried Crawfish Bites on top and some home made hot sauce, which they bottle and sell as well. I enjoyed it with some fresh made Sweet Tea.
