My sister and I treated my mom to some high tea on Mother's Day. It was quite lovely. Since it was a holiday I definitely made reservations a few days prior. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess and escorted right away to our table that was located in a spacious, moderately lit venue on the second floor. The ambiance and decor was cute and whimsical. They also had a gorgeous flowery backdrop for photo ops and provided adorable hats to wear. As for the meal/tea we had the Mother's Day Special. Our sweet server brought out a basket of warm scones, a three-tier stand filled with delicious sandwiches and desserts and we each ordered a different flavor of tea. My sister got the vanilla almond. What an excellent choice. I enjoyed the sweet and subtle nutty flavor. The vanilla wasn't heavy at all. My mom got the ginger peach. Ginger can be pretty abrasive to some palates but this was very faint and smooth. I ordered the peach blossom and it had the right amount of sweetness and peach. Afternoon tea has been getting more & more popular in the OC area in the past few years. I came here this past weekend for a friend's birthday. The restaurant itself is connected to a banquet/hall as well and is a huge, airy space. But I also personally think it felt a little toooo open and there definitely could be a little bit more design and decor in the place. Now onto the most important things- the tea and the food. A thumbs up to this. I enjoyed the teas my group got and the sandwiches and desserts were yummy. It was actually pretty filling, which is good since some other tea places I've had I left still feeling hungry. The only con was the tea restriction they have for larger groups. If you have more than 5/6 (it's one of these numbers) in your group, you're limited to only 3 teapots. Luckily, my group all wanted similar teas so it worked out but I could see this being an issue for a party that all has different preferences. Loved the glittery ribbon and chandelier hanging in the room, and thought it was cute to have a floral backdrop and fancy hats for picture taking. I liked the violet table cloth as well. We were served blueberry scones that were good and fresh hot!! we enjoyed that. We also had finger sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, and some desserts. We were each given a pot of tea. We tried the mandarin rose petal, Ceylon, and ginger peach black tea. The ginger peach was the best, and Ceylon was a bit too bitter and tasteless. There were also bottomless mimosas (awesome!). Only downsides were the smell of where we sat/the room (I couldn't stop noticing it). It was like sorta expired cleaning detergent and a strange rubber glove kind of smell. Didn't like it. Also didn't like that there was a lot of setting up and cleaning action going on as it was sorta distracting and made the atmosphere slightly less extravagant. We also were seated in the very back. The bathrooms are kinda old too. I also wish we had cuter teapots and cups! I think things could have been prettier in presentation overall. I took my mom here for high tea for Mother's Day. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated right away at a cute little table by the window. We started right away on mimosas (included in the $26) and ordered the Orange Blossom black tea and Organic Tropical green tea. We really liked the Organic Tropical green tea a lot. My sister and I took my mother here for a treat, but all we got was disappointment! We had actually had tea here a couple of years ago and really liked it, but this place has clearly gone downhill since then! We all got the Royal Tea for $45 each. Since none of us wanted champagne we were each given an extra scone. Unfortunately, the scones were flat and dense; the fruit (honeydew melon, cantaloupe, & pineapple) was clearly from the Costco down the street; the selection of sandwiches was meh - same with the deserts. For $45 I would have expected "upgraded" fruit like blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. I also would have expected that each person would be able to try each type of dessert, but for the 3 of us there was 1 lemon/white chocolate, 1 cheesecake, 2 lemon blueberry, and 2 caramel, so we ended up having to cut these tiny desserts up so we could each have a bit. On the other hand, it wasn't that big of a deal because they weren't that good! And for a tea house where one of the main staples is scones, I would have expected that they were actually made properly. Regarding the service, mediocre would be kind... Before being served, my sister was very clear that she had allergies to strawberries and walnuts. When the scones came out, the server gave us all strawberry jam! My sister asked if there were another type of jam - nope! What tea room doesn't have more than one type of jam?! Turns out, after talking with the owner/manager as we were leaving, they did have lemon curd - oh well! When the salad came out it was served with a vinagarette dressing. We later found out that they also had ranch dressing, but the choice was never offered to us. The Costco fruit was served on a single plate with no spoon to portion it out with and one of the sandwiches had a pesto spread and when we asked if the pesto was made with walnuts the server didn't know. Clearly, warning her that my sister had allergies to strawberries and walnuts was a waste of time! When we pressed about wanting to know what was in the pesto, our server asked the owner/manager and all we got was that it wasn't made with walnuts, but no clue as to what kind of nuts which was not reassuring. Finally, as we were leaving I spoke to the owner/manager about all the issues we had and how the server didn't even seem to know anything about the food or offering us salad dressing options or even knowing that that there was another option besides strawberry jam. She basically said that she would take it into account and offered us some lemon curd to take home with the 3 extra scones we were given since we didn't have the champagne. This was my first time doing an afternoon tea date with some girlfriends. Spring tea garden is located inside a banquet hall and is super cute the way it is decorated. There were so many different options of teas to choose from! Their were three of us so got three pots. Peach blossom oolong tea, pomegranate green tea, and early grey black blended tea. They were all very good and if you wanted to make it sweeter, there were side sugar packs you could add. The croissant and finger sandwiches were very good and definitely filling for the three of us. It also came with fruits, as well as three little cute dessert pieces. Another plus this place has are cute hats for you to wear! We made a reservation for Sunday at 10 since we were worried it might've been busy or packed. I booked a reservation for my granddaughter's birthday by phone two weeks ahead of time. I spoke directly with someone at the Spring Tea Garden who offered me an 11:00 AM time, in the Tea Room inside, for three people. When we arrived, I approached someone at a desk in the lobby who took my name and went to check on our table. She returned and told me there was no reservation. I reviewed my booking with her, and she had staff set up a separate table in the foyer outside the "Tea Room" (which was filled with other diners). The foyer table was by itself and away from the atmosphere and fun of the other guests. And, while I appreciated the effort, we were separated and out of the way, by ourselves for the entire time. We ordered different items (2 of one and 1 of the other meals/Teas on the menu). All the items were brought on one 3-tiered stand, mixed together with no explanation about which sandwiches, or which deserts belonged to who and there were no serving utensils provided. The service was minimal, and we had to ask for used dishes be cleared to make room on the table. We were essentially left on our own the entire time, with infrequent visits by staff. We felt isolated and ignored, like uninvited guests that arrived unexpectedly at dinnertime. At the end of the meal, I took my bill inside the Tea Room to the cashier and noticed a floor plan on the desk which showed the various tables in the room assigned by name to guests, and I saw my own (first) name written under one table with the time of 11:00 AM underneath. I mentioned this to the cashier and asked her why we had been seated in the foyer by ourselves when my table was clearly written on the floor plan. She guessed that my first name was not matched properly when I gave my surname upon arrival and therefore, we were not identified or seated correctly. This review is for a bridal shower I recently hosted at Spring Tea Garden. I found the entire experience quite easy. From booking a tour of the space to actually having the shower, everything was seamless. Every staff member I interacted with was professional, friendly, and so helpful! They made everything so easy and even fun to plan. The sandwiches, scones, jams/jellies, desserts, and the tea were all scrumptious and satisfying. The serving staff were exceptionally helpful and truly made the event perfect! The one reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is that, unfortunately, the seat cushions were in bad shape...they had stains and even some tears. This was disappointing, as you can imagine. Overall, though, everyone had a wonderful time and I'm glad we chose this venue for the party. By the way, I highly recommend the peach blossom and pomegranate teas! You won't regret it! read more

Our Red Hat Society chapter decided to do a Black and Bling Tea 10/16/20, which had been planned early 2020. Due to Covid, it might appear that we would have to cancel; however the Tea House was open and we met with the owner to see how we could pull off this event. Originally we planned on 100, but due to Covid & social distancing, they decided that 60 in the large banquet hall would be max. They paid extra attention on safety and implemented a check in temperature station as we entered the building. We also chose served plate vs fancy sandwich trays. We ended up having 58 ladies and everyone raved on the excellent job serving and accommodating with tea. The room was beautifully draped from ceiling with twinkle lights and allowed us to bring our own centerpieces (10 tables). The served plates were eloquent, with the sandwiches, salad, fruit, scone and dessert. everything was fresh and delicious. We will be planning our 2nd Annual event in 2021. read more

The flutes of sour champagne were shorted by one half-glass so they could avoid opening another bottle. Each order, which was to include 5 finger sandwiches, two desserts and fresh fruit. Being served on one tower was an ideal way for the kitchen to lose count. They need to change the menu to add the word "approximately" because everything is random. If you want anything like clotted cream and jam for your scone, you have to ask. If you want water, you have to ask. If you want a second pot of tea, you have to ask. Don't want to serve your sandwiches and fruit from the tower with something other than a teaspoon? You....have .... to.... ask. If you want to know whether I'd recommend this place.... If I could give this place 10 stars I would. This is a review for a bridal shower I hosted here for one of my best friends a few weeks ago. I don't have absolutely any cons about this place so I'll just list everything that was perfect 1. Staff are attentive and extremely helpful; I should know i pestered them quite a bit, 2. For a set price (depending on which shower you are having) and certain amount of people you can book a private room. We got the Azelia room and it was perfect; beautiful and airy with plenty of room for a rather loud bunch of females, 3. They provide everything from the linen, to the chiavari chairs, to the serving platters, ornate ice buckets (for the mimosa bar) and cute china tea pots and plates (no plastic or paper plates or utensils here), 4. The food was wonderful and delicious and in abundance. The sandwiches alone will fill you up and the desert (even though there weren't a lot of it) was beautiful and quite delectable, 5. They let you bring food from outside, 6. For a few extra bucks you can get lemonade, more tea selections & etc. All in all the staff and the venue made for a memorable Bridal Shower and will recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable girlie venue for their next bridal or baby shower. The sandwiches are your average sandwich you can get anywhere else. I think you can choose from the turkey, veggie, and ham croissant. The dessert is yummy (they have a variety) and the chocolate scones are to die for! But my favorite out of all is always the peach blossom tea. IT'S BOMB. Make sure to get the peach blossom tea when you go for whatever reason. The service can be a bit slow, but overall I've had a pretty good experience both times I went. We celebrated our friends' bridal shower here. It was a small reservation for a group of 6 so we were seated in the common room which was beautifully decorated with Christmas decor. We chose the Bridal Package which Included tea, sandwich bites & scones, a mimosa bar, linen change, cutting cake fee, and a Bridal Sash for the bride. Everything was great including the service. A special shoutout to Gracia, Chelita, Alex, and Judy who took great care of us and were so flexible in letting us add a bit of Bride decor and our pink poinsettias. The only constructive criticism I would point out is for the mimosa bar. The mimosa bar simply came with champagne and 2 juice crafts, no berries (we brought our own berries), or anything else special to highlight the mimosa bar. In all honesty, if I go back I don't think I would do the mimosa bar. I realized I did not want to drink mimosas and tea at the same time and the sandwich bites are not enough to help you control the mimosa high(just my personal opinion). I had to walk up to ask for something because nobody checked in or anything, and after that nobody checked in on us still, so we had to try to wave someone down just for some water. I, along with four other bridesmaids, hosted a bridal shower at Spring Tea Garden at the 5th floor private balcony area this past weekend. Everything was overall a great success and I'm happy that we booked with this venue. There were a few minor things that I wish had been better but we were happy for the most part and more importantly, our bride was happy! I'll summarize my experience in a list of pros and cons. PROS: - VENUE AND SPACE - This venue is large and beautiful. They did a great job of providing us a large and clean space to host our shower. I loved that we had the balcony space. They provided a choice of linen colors as well as simple floral centerpieces. - PRICING - We were able to secure our pricing at about $25-$30 per person which was totally worth it because the food, teas, and mimosa bar were all included. The food was more than enough and I had multiple guests comment to me how much they loved the pastries. The mimosa bar is bottomless and they were generous with opening more bottles of champagne for our party. If you shop around for venues, you'll find that $25-$30 is a very reasonable price that includes food and drinks. - SERVICE - We had one lady helping us and she was very prompt with refilling our tea pots and making sure we had everything we needed. I felt bad that she was running back and forth the entire time by herself but she was great. - COMMUNICATION - I had no issues with getting in contact with someone and I called several times to ask questions about our reservation. I spoke to multiple people and they were all polite and patient with my questions. - FLEXIBILITY - They allowed us to bring in our own food and set up decorations. Some venues are very picky about what decorations you're allowed to bring but they were lenient with allowing us to use the space we wanted. - MICROPHONE - They provided a microphone and stand for us! This was a nice touch as it was something that was needed for our large party. CONS: - PRIVACY INVASION - During our shower, I noticed that one of the employees at Spring Tea Garden had brought up two people and she was showing them our space during our program. I overheard her explaining their packages and I wish I had been asked before they brought people up to our private party. I specifically requested the balcony area so that we can have our private space and I wish that they hadn't brought random people up during our allotted reservation time. - LATE FOOD - Our reservation was from 11AM-2PM and I was under the impression that our food would be ready at 11AM. Our food wasn't ready until it was almost noon and it made us push our program back because our guests had been waiting to eat for an hour. I had to ask our server multiple times if the food was ready yet and she continued to reply that it would be out soon. Spring Tea Garden is a beautiful venue. The food was great. The tea service could have been a little better. The tea was good but it was difficult to get refills. When they did refill, they didn't use a new tea bag in the teapot so it was just hot water. Also, they didn't serve water. I had to ask and the server would only bring one cup for whoever asked. Probably should have a pitcher of water for the tea events booked. The service at the event could have been better. It was difficult to communicate with the servers because they were busy with other events. I don't think I would book again. read more
