Breakfast here was a totally awesome experience! We were greeted by Lori with hot coffee and friendly conversation. We ordered breakfast, and I am in awe of the crispy bacon - done just the way I cook it at home. Wayne went for the mountain bowl and couldn't finish it. And, real home fries!! We also really enjoyed talking with other diners and kind of felt like a "local". When we were ready to leave we were offered to-go cups. I have been here twice now. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Breakfast was very good with the highlight being the biscuits and gravy. I had the buffet for lunch and it was ok. The shrimp, oysters, clams, and fish (all fried) were very good. The fried chicken was a little bland and the ribs were bad. Neither my wife nor I ended up deciding to finish one. They had an odd consistency and flavor. The service was ok both times although someone was complaining about their service when we left. The value was great with a small cash discount we were under $50 for 2 buffet meals and drinks. Really lunch would be 3 stars and breakfast would be 4 but overall I would give it a 3 read more

I stopped here during my trip for breakfast. I ordered a diner omelette, home fries, and coffee. When the waitress came with the coffee, it also came with an apple cider donut which was freshly baked and delicious! The omelette was very tasty and good. The service was good and quick. Although it's decorated in a welcoming manner, the breakfast we had was disappointing. I would review this diner similar to my one of LaCocina in Hedgesville, which is no longer in business as a restaurant. There were no tablecloths or placemats on the table and the small, oval melamine plates would scoot on the tabletop as we were trying to cut our sausage and eggs. The plates were so small that we had to use a napkin to put the toast on so we could find our meal underneath; the plates were hardly much larger than the eggs, hash and frozen potatoes. The eggs were very small and didn't have much taste or yoke to them. My husband got sausage with his breakfast and he said the sausage was good but he was disappointed in the size and taste of the eggs themselves. I ordered the corned beef hash with two over easy and potatoes. The corn beef hash was good, but the potatoes were frozen, not fresh. This is a big no-no for me. If you call yourself a diner, or a restaurant, you need to have breakfast potatoes from fresh potatoes, not frozen from a bag. Although I/we would not go back for breakfast, I would tentatively try the place for lunch. read more

Found this place on our travels and decided to give a try it for dinner. It's only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday for dinner the rest of the days it's open for breakfast and Lunch only. The special was spaghetti and meatballs with a salad bar. We decided to do a sandwich and the country fried steak. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food came out quickly even with half the restaurant full. I got the tuna salad sandwich which was good but the fries were not cooked enough and very greasy I would not recommend them. The hubby got chicken fried steak and said it was great but had the same issue with the fries. The brand they use is not good at all. All and all the food and services is good just select a different side and the ice tea is wonderful and fresh. read more

We ate here for the first time. It was during breakfast and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, the place was very clean and the prices were good too. They give you two complimentary cinnamon donuts while you browse the menu. I could've have eaten 20 of them....so good. We will definitely be back to try the lunch menu. PEOPLE remember this is a diner! I read comments about no table cloths and small plates. What BS. Diners are where you go to eat good food, not where you go for romantic candlelight experiences! I swear some people would complain if they had a tit in both hands. Breakfast was very good. Had a large piece of really tasty scrapple and 2 eggs with potatoes and marble rye. Service could not have been any better and believe me I am a stickler regarding service and here the gratuity I left was more than 20% The diner is large, clean, and has seating for large groups. We were served warm donuts as soon as we sat down, the server brought us coffee and menus right away and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. I have been there on a Sunday when they have their buffet and the food is kept hot and fresh. I have also been there twice during the week and had a great meal. I have not been here one time I didn't have to wait over 45-1 hour for my breakfast. Waitress typically do not ask if you want coffee refilled. Plenty of room for improvement. Not the best fish n fries or Caesar salad we've ever had but about what you'd expect. I did however expect romaine lettuce rather than iceberg and the fried chicken nuggets likely came frozen from a bag. I've had better from the grocery store actually. Our waitress was very slow to respond to requests and we suspect she'd actually forgotten as soon as she walked off. We may return to try breakfast or burgers but there's better diners in the area. The wife and I had our first trip there for breakfast and it was great. Inside it's clean, nicely decorated and the staff was cheerful and friendly. The Mrs. ordered Belgium waffles, sausage patties, and eggs. I tried their house omelette which had the works in it and toast. My omelette covered the standard 12" oval plates and she had 1 plate for the waffles and another for the eggs, and sausage. We both needed a togo box. We decided to give Spring Mills Diner a try for breakfast. We walked into a beautiful and clean diner, and were greeted and seated by friendly staff. Looking through the menu, there are many options to choose from. Our waitress brought us a basket of sugared doughnuts, which we enjoyed. I ordered the pancake and bacon platter that come with 3 pancakes, home fries, 2 eggs, and bacon. My husband ordered the same except he chose sausage instead. Coffee is something I am quite picky about, and I must say the coffee there is better than most diners in the area. They offer French vanilla creamer as well as regular creamer. Which is a plus. Our food came to our table promptly. Our waitress very friendly. Now our review of the food. Pancakes are big and fill up a plate, but are a little tough. Still tasty. I ordered over easy eggs and they were a bit undercooked but still edible. Home fries are sliced instead of the normal cubes, ours a bit overcooked and hard. My bacon was very hard almost inedible. My husbands sausage patties were tasty, just wish they would have drained the grease from them before serving. All in all we enjoyed eating at Spring Mills Diner and will probably go back to try out the lunch items. It's nice to have another sit down place to eat in Spring Mills. read more

I've eaten here three times in the past six weeks. The first experience was fabulous! My husband and I went and had breakfasts, both of which were just wonderful. Especially those house-made donuts! Yum! The second visit was disappointing. I ordered another omelette (mushroom) and it was too liquid-y. My three friends all had lunch food. Two had the chicken salad sandwich which was so runny that it was falling out of the bread. The other had the fried chicken salad and it wasn't at all appetizing. Just chopped head lettuce, a couple of cherry tomatoes, some packaged grated cheese, and a bunch of things that looked like Chicken McNuggets. She left a good deal of it. I went back a week ago and ordered the exact same omelette that I'd had on my first visit ( feta and spinach) and home fries. The potatoes were chunks instead of the round ones I'd had at first time. The omelette was runny, filled full leaves of spinach and chunks of feta, all oozing out the sides of the omelette. Not pretty and not good. The first was filled with ground spinach and feta and was beyond yummy. Where is the consistency? Did you get a new chef? If so, bring back the other one, please! I am not sure I will return.
