Listen Spring Creek Barbeque is a chain restaurant. There isn't a Pit Master with his own special technique smoking the meat. The guys doing the BBQ today were 2 young men and they did it right. I didn't ask their credentials because it doesn't matter. I like Spring Creek Barbeque! I think their bbq chicken is among the best. Yup, I'm saying it and I don't give a damn who says different. My wife and I decided to eat at Spring Creek on 290 because she had a teacher appreciation coupon. I had the 3 meat combination with Lean Brisket, dark meat chicken, and St. Louis style ribs. My sides were beans and green beans. My wife had a baked potato fully loaded no meat. Today the ribs were really good. They were firm yet tender, didn't push back on the bite through but nothing stuck on the bone. The chicken was good, but it's been better. The brisket was lean and pretty good. Honestly usually get marbled brisket because I like the fatty pieces. My wife's baked potato was great, the cheese was fresh and the sour cream kicking! This one is quite easy. We walked in. Had a horrid experience with one of the managers as we asked questions and they seemed rather annoyed I was asking specifics about the fares being left, others that were not available, a filthy flat top, aside unclean surfaces, and then they walked off. We then decided to leave and had wings instead. My sides were coleslaw and green beans, and my daughter had mac and cheese and coleslaw. The only thing I liked from my plate was the turkey. The turkey was tender and juicy! The green beans were way overcooked which made them mushy. And I was not a fan of the coleslaw either. My daughter said the mac and cheese had not favorite at all. I tried and she was right. I did a take out order here and everyone and everything was great but what stood out to me while waiting for my food was a young lady who didn't have a welcoming attitude towards customers, huffing and puffing when they come up to ask for hot rolls, rolling her eyes , not greeting them when they first walk up to her and not having a welcoming attitude in general although i didn't have any interaction with her that's what i noticed and didn't really appreciate it at all. Yikes. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with my mom. The place is extremely understaffed. They had one person slicing up all of the meats, filling the in-person orders, and taking care of online orders. Heads up that the chopped brisket on the baker is their version of "chopped beef" which is more like marinated sloppy Joe mix. Not my style, but also not worth $20. I did have them remake it with actual chopped brisket as described, but not without getting a lecture on how this being how they usually do it (which is news to me having had the baked potatoes many times). The gal who must have been the manager on duty was actively scolding the staff about break times while also checking us out. Rolls were also burnt. Second time we've ordered through UberEats. We ordered the Family Pack Standard and chose pulled pork, chicken, green beans, potato salad and the bbq pinto beans. But since it looked busy I thought maybe they were just too busy to do curbside and didn't care about it. The next night my family wanted bbq again so I foolishly did curbside again. Big mistake. This time they straight up told me that they won't bring me my order and I had to go in to get it. I asked them if they weren't doing curbside anymore and they said they were but can't bring my order out because of safety concerns. Ok I get that there are some dangerous place out there but this is a relatively safe part of town AND when I placed the order for curbside they were ok with it but 15-20 mins later when I get there it's suddenly not ok? We walked in and were engulfed in an experience. Expected old school line, wooden furniture and soft bench seats, but when we hit the corner the aroma of fresh cut barbequed meats took us to another level. We watched at Katara sliced the meats with skill and artistic perfection. She handled the meat and her knowledge let us know we were in the right place. The service was as southern as it gets.
