It was fairly empty, but I'm assuming it's because they only recently extended their hours to 7pm on weekends for the early dinner crowd. I'd love it if they would further extend dinner hours and market themselves as a dinner option. My wife ordered an egg on croissant with a side of fruit. She also ordered a latte. I went with the chicken pot pie with a side salad. I didn't catch that the pot pie was actually a hand-pie (kind of like an empanada) but it is listed on the menu. Both the croissant and hand-pie crusts were excellent. Buttery and flaky. My chicken pot pie did not have much chicken, but did have flavor. There were nice spices like thyme in there. Definitely you can taste the homemade in there. My salad had micrograms and very fresh grape tomatoes and cucumbers. The side fruit was fresh and crunchy in small pieces. The place seats a couple of dozen people and had quite comfortable cloth seats. We decided to get a whole pie to go home with us and chose the key lime. Wow. Tangy and tart with the sweet graham cracker crust and whip cream. Loved it. The pie was just under $40 and the food about the same. I don't remember specifically this time. Pie and Plate Cafe is a winner with homemade scratch made food and nice coffees. The pies were excellent.

The flavor was good and presentation was nice. The shrimp were small, but there was a generous amount which helped offset the size. The space is open and has a nice mix of tables and booths. There are a lot of large windows, and it was freezing on the day we went so the restaurant interior was also freezing. They do have a fireplace, which is a nice touch, but didn't help with warmth. We were looking for ice cream after dinner in Ambler and quickly found Sweet Briar. The line of people waiting for ice cream was an indication it must be good...and it was!! I had the Espresso Explosion, a scooped ice cream, and my partner had a cone with the chocolate soft serve. My favorite ice cream is coffee, and the Espresso exceeded my expectations! It was rich and creamy with a deep coffee flavor that was accentuated with coffee beans that were coated with chocolate! The crunch of the beans with the ice cream was definitely an 'explosion'! My partner had the chocolate soft serve - which was a creamy and chocolaty as can be - you could see tiny little specks of chocolate in the ice cream which confirmed the luscious taste! We will be returning to Ambler the next time we want an exceptional ice cream!!

The drinks refrigerator sits next to the counter as well and over to the very right is the main dining room. We ordered the following: Daughter had the 2-2-2 combo, which is 2 eggs, 2 sausages and 2 blueberry pancake. She thought that it was great.
