I assumed that with all of the orange people running around Revere that tanning salons should be…read moreeasy to find. I scoured Yelp reviews and honestly didn't find too much, so I took a chance and bought a 2-week package here. The first girl I spoke to wasn't really that knowledgeable, but then I found that one of the girls who worked there had the exact look I was going for - a deep, bronze tan with no orange undertones. I started asking her how I should structure a package so that I could get the kind of color she has (without tanning 7 days a week for the rest of my life). The second girl was incredibly helpful and didn't immediately try upselling the most expensive packages or products. I appreciated that. Since I'm an olive/Meditteranean complexion, I did get some color on my first Level 1 6-minute tan (go figure!), so I'm sure the results will continue to build. The beds and private rooms were clean too, which was awesome. Now I'm off to tease my hair and apply the blue eyeshadow.

Revere is the epicenter of the tanning world. Last week, I was stuck on the other side of town and…read morewas looking for a place where I could get a single visit. That's when I came across Revere Tanning Salon. It's no too far from Revere Beach, just east of the Rte. 107 rotary. 7pm on a weeknight in April is high volume time for tanning salons, and there were about 6 people waiting for service at RTS when I walked in. Some were regulars, others were one-timers like me. I believe they have package deals, but all I wanted was a single session for $10.50. Why $.50? Because they make you purchase a cheesy pair of stick on eye-covers for $.50 to cover your eyes while you tan. Seriously. And you can't get out of it. Even if you show them a pair of UV protected goggles - you have to buy the eye-covers. The line moved along well, but here's a tip: If you're in a hurry, and not all that headstrong about preferring a bed over a booth, take a booth. At RTS, booths seem to be more available. The beds/booths are located in private rooms, and the staff is very helpful. When I couldn't find the friggin' start button to my booth, they kindly showed me where it was - on the wall. At $10.50 a pop, you might be able to find better deals, but I thought it was reasonably priced for a single visit.
