I love Spot coffee! They have a good selection of drinks, a bakery case, and food made to order. I recently came in the morning with a group of people and we had no problem finding a table. We got there 10 minutes before their 7pm closing. Kids made fun of me when I said, "When I was a kid Spot Coffee was a late night spot"... then proceeded to remind me that was 20+ years ago. Kids ordered a mango smoothie and all the fighting of who would get the first sip led to it spilling all over. So, not only do we show up and create a big order 10 minutes before close, we made a sticky mess. Despite that, the girl at the counter was very sweet and made them a new one. The rest of our meal was delivered in a to go bag, so we took the hint and came home to eat. Atmosphere was enjoyed by the kids, who all wanted to sit at the couch by the fireplace. It felt homey and they liked the art on the walls and music. We got 3 bean veggie chili, a strawberry almond salad, chicken feta wrap, and pizza bagel. Spot is okay as far as coffee shops go. The people are always nice but the prices are just too much. Literally almost $3 for a banana. (Needed an immediate child-friendly option on that day.) The food is fine and most of the time the drinks are fine. It's a solid option for a place to meet up with someone or work. Okay this needed updating! I was pleasantly surprised this morning by how good the dark roast - a single origin blend - tasted! I have been a pretty outspoken opponent of Spot Coffee as it always was just not good to me unless I ordered an Americano. So, it was a happy accident today when my friend and I found my usual Starbucks closed - two of them in fact so I VERY reluctantly suggested Spot and resigned myself to a mediocre Americano. I saw the dark roast sign - it was featured - and okay, you've redeemed yourself - at least at this location (1 Delaware Road in Kenmore) The croissant was pretty tasty too. Ive always loved ALL Spot locations and will continue to frequent their locations. Tonight, however, wasn't such a good experience. Arriving roughly at 6:30pm there were a couple ahead of me ordering a dozen donuts. I was dying for a Cincoshake and was ready to order a grande. The young girl at the counter had her hands full.... Literally.... Wrapping each and every donut up in plastic wrap. Her helper was busy darting around doing cleanup work. I was there with two others who had asked that i order their drinks too. Without so much as acknowledging I was there, I stood for 7-10 minutes while the girl continued mummifying these donuts. Then she took the drink orders. I've seen sap drip from a frozen tree faster than this girl cared to move. After watching this debacle, I gave up. Frankly, it's poor form to not only ignore waiting customers in line, but also to not ask for assistance at the counter. Once she finally finished the couples order she was busy chatting with her coworker in-between texting on her cellphone. 3 more orders could have been had before the three of our group finished our meeting. We will be looking for another place to hold interviews at as it would seem that the folks at this establishment have better things to do than supply a modicum of customer service. read more

It's been a while, after eating here almost weekly a couple of years ago, and I swear It's not the same. The balsamic dressing and the whipped cream are noticeably different. They taste cheap. The whipped cream left a gross film on the roof of my mouth. After a lifetime of craving spot, I won't be returning. I like Spot Coffee. I like supporting the local guy. This is a newer location for the chain in the heart of the Kenmore village, maybe been there a couple years now. It still feels fresh and new. The inside is bright and trendy. As much as I like Spot, I do wish the local guy wasn't so expensive. A medium skinny latte with a flavor shot is over $5. A medium black coffee is over $2.50. Yes, the beverages are good, but IMHO a Tim's black coffee is just as satisfying. Spot clearly puts their money into the aesthetic of their stores. If you don't mind paying for the experience of being in a chair in a hip place, you'll like it here. I like it here myself. But just know your coffee will dent your wallet accordingly. read more

Local coffee shop in the heart of Kenmore is just what our town needed! Dan and I enjoy walking here for a coffee or lunch occasionally. You can even call ahead now and do curbside pick up! Spot makes homemade focaccia bread and you can have it on any lunch or breakfast sandwich. My favorite is the chicken pesto with pepper sandwich with the side salad. I usually save 1/2 for lunch the following day. This Spot Coffee location is always clean and the employees are always friendly. They can't seem to get orders right. I ordered a grilled cheese - extra done on the grill, and two Saranac Shirley Temples. I requested the "extra done" because the last time ordered the sandwich, the center was unmelted. I received two Saranac Orange Creams and another undercooked grilled cheese. This place is absolutely disgusting, The floors are dirty, All the tables have dirty dishes or food crumbs on them and the service is absolutely horrible me and my family had to wait 20 minutes while no one was dining in the restaurant. I really dig this SPoT Coffee. It's situated on the corner where you don't really notice it at first, but it's a great location at 1 Delaware. I wasn't sure where to park at first, so I drove around back & saw a lot for customers of 1 Delaware. The coffee shop itself looks brand new. I'm not sure how long it has been here, but everything is in great repair. The fireplace area is very cozy with big comfy chairs & a massive ottoman straight outta the 70s! It's awesome! The decor is modern & clean. There's plenty of room to work, and the day I went it wasn't busy at all. There were four people working on their computers, a couple of tables with people visiting with each other, and an older lady sitting by herself enjoying her coffee. I loved seeing the diversity in age of customers. The menu is the same I have come to expect at all the other locations. Food & drinks were fast to be served. The guy who took my order was a bit low-key & reserved. He never said hi or asked if he could take my order. He just stared at me until I ordered. AWKWARD! This 5 stars is for atmosphere and service only. I came after breakfast, so I didn't order any food or drinks personally, just a tea for the wife. I'm so happy that Kenmore has a coffee shop! I find when businesses open they are often understaffed for the rush of excited patrons wanting to check out the new place. However, they had lots of staff working, which is great. It was definitely packed, but things seemed to move swiftly and smoothly. We caught a table toward the back. Though the tables are closer and it's smaller than other Spots, it didn't feel crowded or uncomfortable. I also like the board games they have for use. Menu extremely misleading, poor advertising, "black bean and corn quesadilla" comes with no beans or corn unless specifically requested, which will lead to additional charges for filling -- I really wanted to like this place, as it had a generally good ambiance, what looked like good food, and truthfully kind employees. But my experience here was terrible, and I almost ended up paying $30 for two "black bean and corn" quesadillas that were just bread, cheese, and chicken. The store menu and online menu offer a "black bean and corn quesadilla" with beans, corn, onions, tomatoes, etc for $11.25. Adding chicken increases the price to $13.20. So you think if you pay $13.20 for a quesadilla, it better be decadent. Except I noticed I was charged $14.45 for one quesadilla, I was charged extra to "add quesa". I asked twice if the additional charge was a mistake, and they explained, the "add quesa" is to include the black beans! Apparently, the price listed on the menu doesn't include beans? Even Though It's Called A BLACK BEAN Quesadilla? I was disappointed I paid extra for beans, almost $30 total, but I left resigned. When I got home, neither of my quesadillas had beans...or corn or onions or anything! I called the store and asked for a refund, which they agreed to, but said I needed to go back to the store to swipe my card. Having wasted two hours already, I wasn't eager to go back. When I finally did however, they apologized because they were able to refund me without my card, so it was all just a waste of time. read more

This was my first time at this location. There is a gazebo outside with a piano inside of it that I heard got donated. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, omelettes, waffles, pizza (yes, I said pizza!) snacks, desserts, and oh yeah... coffee! I had an iced caramel macchiato with almond milk and a western omelette with focaccia. The omelette was probably the best one I've ever had, which is surprising! The focaccia just kind of fell apart. They have free WiFi, and water. There's amble amount of seating both inside and outside, even a few comfy coaches and board games! Some of the tables are awkwardly positioned - if you had 4 people at your table, and 4 at the table next to you for example, that just wouldn't work. There isn't enough room. Today I was very impressed by the employees at the spot at 1 Delaware road in Kenmore. The place was spotless(sorry) coffee was fresh and hot. They were so cordial and accommodating. They made a fresh pot of coffee without me asking. I was very happy to have stopped into this location. They have a beautiful side patio that looked inviting. They do have parking in the back that is shared with the school. Look for the yellow circle on the pavement that says Spot to indicate what spaces are for spot customers. New Spot coffee in the heart of Kenmore. Just recently opened and I'm a fan. I stopped in for a quick break and a cortado and the espresso was pulled nicely and the steamed milk was perfect. I love places that have a Cortado on the menu and I'm not quite sure why everyone doesn't. It's quite simply a double espresso with equal parts milk. Spot is consistent and has expanded pretty aggressively throughout Buffalo. The breakfast sammy's are always on point and it's a nice coffeeshop. I'd pick Spot over Starbucks any day of the week and think their coffee is pretty darn good. Glad that Kenmore now has one and there's an option for some tasty coffee and baked goods! read more

The day started off like crap. My car wouldn't start I didn't get to go out for breakfast I'm waiting for AAA and I decided to order from this location via Uber Eats I placed an order for a Mike's sandwich a dessert bar and a coffee. Only the Mike's sandwich arrived. So I called and spoke to the manager who's name is Alex and he basically could do nothing except to tell me that I would have to jump through hoops or two or three and call Uber customer service to send another driver to get the items that I did not receive. His excuse was that it must've gotten busy and those items were forgotten. That is in no way shape or form acceptable. There was no offer to make it right in a customer service sense, and all of the responsibility for the issue was placed upon Uber to take care of. I was given a refund from Uber and will think twice about ordering from this location again because apparently they can't handle it when it's busy. Not for nothing - the Mike's sandwich was delicious. Now that my car is working again I will go someplace else to get my coffee and a breakfast dessert items. read more

Since it's opening, this location has been my favorite. From the management down, you are always made to feel welcome. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxing cup of coffee with a friend or a few hours to cram in some work. During the summer months their outdoor patio is the perfect place to unwind. Employees are knowledgeable about the gluten free items on the menu and helpful as I struggle to make my food choice. My favorite item is definitely the Mike's Sandwich on a gluten free roll. It seems smaller that the Chippewa location, but they sure did a beautiful job decorating! It exudes the exact sort of warmth that a coffee shop should; I loved it on first glance! The staff was helpful, and patient. They are clearly learning a new system, but we're kind and bubbly regardless. I was there for a quick breakfast, and got my staple; a chai latte and a bagel. Both were good, but I am definitely looking forward to coming back for lunch! They have a wide variety of sandwiches and pizza. Each have a unique inside, but serve the same delicious coffee. Spot Coffee serves both drinks and food. I can only speak to it's drinks. I primarily order the Chai Latte and during the fall season, the Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte. Once you come here, you won't be able to drink at Starbuck's again. The Chai Latte is 'out of this world' with its thick and rich flavour. The Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte is phenomenal and beats an PSL that you may find. Order it while it's still in season. Spot Coffee is a great place to grab a coffee on the go, catch up with a friend, and study for an upcoming exam. I especially enjoy drinking a Chai Latte while grading exams and reading for my classes. Just be sure to bring a charged laptop, in case there are no free outlets. Overall, I highly recommend Spot Coffee. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it is well worth it for the quality. read more

DRINK: I usually get a jasmine iced tea, which is delicious. I used to be a coffee drinker, and SPoT always had some of my fav coffee. I've taken sips of my friend's drinks and they're always delicious. I would advise against getting any of their smoothie or slushie drinks, as the quality of ingredients isn't great and they use a lot of ice. FOOD: Here's what I don't quite understand what happened- I used to come on the weekends and get the Monte Crisco waffles, stopped going because of school, and this summer the price went up a dollar, but the quality of the food is absolutely awful. This is 100% a comment on the business owners and not the employees, because it's the actual ingredients that are being used that are subpar. Last year the eggs were not cooked in a circle ring and rubbery, but looked like actual eggs cooked to perfection, and the cheese was shredded and real cheddar, not just a square of american cheese. The waffles also got soggy and used to be super crisp which makes me believe the batter recipe was changed. Unappetizing to look at and to eat. I haven't bothered to pay the $11 it costs to get a sandwich here but whenever my friends have all I see is a sandwich I could make at home myself for a quarter of the cost. (also if UB can sell Paula's Donut's for $1.50 then why are you charging $2.50?) tldr; staff is great, drinks are good if you stick to the ones that aren't blended, and food quality has decreased substantially in the last year at all SPoT locations. read more

I think this is the first time I've used that word in a review. The setup of Spot is cozy, they have have a nice outdoor area, and it really just looks like a place you want to sit it all day. It just looks adorable. I was simple when I ordered and went with a black iced coffee. It has some fancy name there, but really, it's black iced coffee. It was good. It tasted exactly the way I wanted it to taste...like cold, black coffee. No complaints here! As a bonus...I noticed they sell local chocolates. WARNING: NO PETS ALLOWED ON THE PATIO I've been a huge fan of SPoT for years and have always enjoyed the laid back, chill culture of the brand. At the newer location in Kenmore, I must say though, that this experience changed my overall opinion. I've been to every SPoT location in the Buffalo area, and always see people hanging out on the patios with their pets. Today I decided to visit the new location on Delaware in Kenmore with my 5 LB MALTESE that literally lays in my lap at all times. I brought him to the patio thinking it was no big deal since I've seen it done so many times at the other locations, but was approached by one of the workers who said "we're not a dog friendly patio" for future reference, but that I could stay this time. Fine. Slightly embarrassed, I continued to enjoy my coffee, but 2 minutes later, a man walked outside and began watering the plants. He then introduced himself as the owner, and politely reiterated how there are no pets allowed but was welcome to stay this time. I must say, the owner was a really nice guy, who thoroughly explained the rationale as to why there are no pets allowed, but I found it awkward that two people informed us that it wasn't okay to have my harmless little dog with me outside while saying it was fine to stay. Because of this awkwardness I decided to just leave with my coffee half finished, and shamefully walked back through the storefront holding my dog as everyone stared at me like I was a criminal. Mind you, there is no signage whatsoever saying there are no pets allowed outside, so patrons would have no idea until they are scolded by the workers. So be cognizant of that when you go to any SPoT locations because it's apparently against the health code and you will be asked to leave. Very offputting experience. A shame, because it's a great location with a great owner. read more
