My husband never actually used them for hiking and wore them for work as a delivery driver, where a lot of time was simply spent driving. We brought them in 9 or so months after getting them and after only using them moderately to see if we could warranty them. We figured that since it was a Cabela's brand product it would be covered under the guaranteed "lifetime warranty". We had the original box, packing materials, and the receipt. We were told by the staff that these boots didn't qualify because they were "worn" and that means we got "our money's worth" out of them. How else is someone going to know whether or not a product is going to last without using them? You can buy $250 boots at Cal Ranch or elsewhere that will last several years. A $25 pair of Walmart hiking boots will last the same amount of time, if not longer than their "premium" boots. These boots clearly aren't meant to last. If the "lifetime" of their boots is 5 months, I'm truly not impressed with their products, guarantees, or service. I make an effort to review fairly, and I would have given this store a higher rating if this was the only incident that left me feeling irritated when shopping here.

As most gear shops, the prices reflect quality and lean towards the moderate to expensive side, but that's less IMT and more the general gear, but again solid sale sections and not above normal market cost. Though we have a pretty solid collection of gear we have accumulated over the years, we will get a few small items when we visit, as we always seem to find some cool pieces, including my favorite fleece coal baseball cap! Having heard nothing for a week, I called them the following Wednesday and they cheerfully told me that there were only a few bikes in front of me and they'd get started the upcoming Friday or Saturday. I was supposed to leave on Friday. If they had told me they couldn't get it done up front, it wouldn't have interfered with my trip. Instead they chose to hang me out to dry. I would take my bike any place but Bills from now on.

We had a great experience buying the RV, and we felt that everyone was very kind, straight-forward and patient. In retrospect, though, I have two complaints. The first is their partnership with Good Sam's. Nothing good about it. Aaron, her sales person, convinced my mom to buy the extended warranty plan from Good Sam's, which seemed to make sense, as she was buying a used RV and we have no skills in fixing it ourselves. But when the heater stopped working in the middle of the night (and it was 8 degrees, by the way), Good Sam's claimed not to have her policy. Our experience with Camping World's customer service has been less than stellar (second complaint). It's very hard to get someone on the phone who can help with any issue. That said, Mom was able to get someone on the phone finally yesterday. Her name was Leslie, and she was very helpful, tracking down all the records that Good Sam's claimed not to have, including the date Good Sam's cashed the check for her payment on that warranty, since they also claimed to have never been paid. Bottom line: don't be convinced to do business with Good Sam's. Find another policy. It's too late for my mom, and I'm very disappointed that Camping World would recommend that anyone, let alone a retiree who is using her RV as a residence, do any business with Good Sam's.

No specific reason for purchasing from CW other than Coleman trailers are exclusive to them. I was a little worried because of all the negative reviews I'd heard. Our purchasing experience was pretty smooth. We did our homework and knew we did not want to purchase any of the additional warranties/coverages. We have used our trailer regularly over the summer and early fall. The only issue we had was not the fault of CW. We had an ongoing problem with our trailer slide. The service department was great about getting us in and when the problem wasn't fixed initially, they followed up with the manufacturer until the problem was fixed solved. Casey and Jesse were great! Overall a good experience. I'm a firm believer that you 'get what you pay for' in the sense of being educated before making a big purchase and don't blame everything on the dealer.
