Enormous store. Amazing high-quality selection. I made sure to visit multiple times before writing this review. I'm sorry that Rip T. had a bad experience, but let me assure you that it must've been a rarity. Every time I set foot in Cabela's, I'm met with professionalism, and great customer service. They've got EVERYTHING you could possibly want, need, or dream of to make your outdoor adventure complete - whether you're going hunting, camping, hiking, fishing, bird watching, kayaking...you name it! They've also got licensing for fishing/hunting and concealed carry classes. I've purchased several items from Cabela's, including some clothing items, holsters for concealed carry, ammunition, and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. BTW - their firearms selection is GREAT and so is the knowledge & expertise of their firearm sales staff. They've got a couple of rewards program options as well - free membership card with reward points & a rewards Visa. I keep forgetting my membership card at home, so I can't speak with much of a perspective on how the whole reward system works just yet. Don't let the one bad review keep you away. I went to Cabela's in Ammon Idaho today to buy a pair of Vortex Furry HD binoculars. When I got to the binocular counter the employee was behind the counter talking with another gentleman. As I was looking at the binoculars through the case I sat there for about 5 minutes as they talked about how bad the government was. He wasn't showing him any products, or trying to sell him anything as I sat there waiting. I continued to walk around the counter to try to draw his attention waiting for a, "Can I help you" ,or "Would you like to see a set of binoculars", but he continued to talk to this other gentleman about the government and never even acknowledged me. I then left Cabela's and drove 2 minutes down the street to Sportsman's Wearhouse and bought them there. The only reason I am posting this is because if I was a manager at Cabela's I would want to know about the piss poor customer service I received. Hopefully they will read this. read more

Super disappointed. We stopped at Cabela's to shop for some camping gear on our way to Yellowstone from California. Upon entering the store we felt like we were being followed by the employees and given funky glare. Only one of them asked if we needed help and that's because we flagged her down. She was nice but once we got the shoes we wanted it was kind of insinuated that we pay for them right then and there instead of holding them while we shopped. Anyway, we bought our Salomon's and left. First time in Idaho Falls, I hope the people aren't like the employees here. Giving two stars for the selection. read more

Went to Cabelas on 9/8/18. Wanted to get a look at a shot gun I had been researching. One of the sales people was helping a couple looking at the hand guns. I started browsing the shot guns that are behind the counter. I was waiting for the the salesperson to finish up with the couple looking at the hand guns and noticed three employees all standing around down by the computer joking around so I made my way to that area. Not one person asked if I needed help. I know that they all don't work in the gun department but the one lady did. I was very disappointed that I wasn't asked if she could help me with anything. read more

While I am disappointed at the size of the store, I'm super happy I can order online and get free shipping to the store. I've had great luck with this process. I have had a couple great experiences with customer service in the optics department both on scopes and spotting scopes! Happy with my purchases! I have also had a couple issues with using a combination of my Cabela's points ,gift cards and promotions together. But the Store Manager, in both cases, was AMAZING and AWESOME, and she helped me resolve the issues. I left the store happy happy happy! Thank you Idaho Falls/ Ammon Cabela's ! read more

I have been backpacking for 2 years this week, all together 8 countries. While I was in Peru I found out my friend was in Idaho Falls close to the store. My 2 year old shoes was just about to be duck taped so I asked her to pick me a pair of shoes up for me then emailed the store manager Preston. Not only he was very patient with my wifi going in and out, but was able to help me stay on budget with the best deal on shoes I ever got. If it wasn´t for him I wouldnt have been able to find size 12 in the world of little people. I hope one day I can pay a visit and thank them personaly. Michael B read more

So, I am happy to have the store here but, it is the SMALLEST one I have ever been in. That said, they have a bit of everything and enough to keep you going. I second the friendly/professional store personnel. Gun prices, like most Cabela's, can be beaten in town. We can never have too many places to be sports equipment. read more

Going to Capital one credit card, in my opinion, was a big mistake. Have had nothing but problems since, not easy to work with. Cell phone charges don't go through, credit limit raise was denied because they haven't had the account long enough, ridiculous. read more

I was just in to Cabelas in Idaho Falls, Idaho and I spent quite a bit of time in the fly fishing department. I found a couple of great deals on streamer flies and eventually made it up to the front to check out. Once I got to the front the lady at the check out scanned the first fly and it come up as double the tagged price. She scanned the second fly and that fly came up as double the price as well! They admitted that an employee must have put the flies in the wrong spot. (Oops!) They nonchalantly said "sorry" and then tried to tell me my total as if I was going to pay more than double the price. They couldn't have eaten a few dollars to make a customer happy since one of their "trained" employees made a mistake? I would call it a customer service fail. Their employees must not be aware of customer acquisition cost. For these reasons I would recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

I LOVE this store! Every time I stop it takes me longer than I tell my wife it will be! Not on purpose, but I get distracted by all the stuff. My wife finally figured out why it takes me so long when she went with me one day. She was looking for hiking boots and by the time we left we had been in the store for 2 hours. She turned to me and said "Now I get why it takes you so long!". I've read other reviews that say it's not as big as other stores or as nice or blah blah blah. Whatever. I suppose that if you're from a more populated area like Salt Lake City or the coastal parts of the country, than this store won't seem like much to you. That being said, it works for me because the people are NICE! They're friendly, helpful and pretty knowledgeable. And if they don't know the answer then they try to find the answer/product for you. This store will probably have what you need. The products bring me in, the customer service brings me back. read more

I just want to start by saying I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Cabela's with flawless professional results.... However after this recent Firearms purchase I will take my business elsewhere and I will also advise my clients, I'm a outdoors guide in Idaho, to search elsewhere for products and service, license Etc. I purchased a firearm at the stores kiosk with promise delivery a 5 to 8 business days. I paid in full and waited. After three calls to the customer service desk at the Ammon store in Idaho Falls LEE was her name, five calls to the gun counter and their corporate customer service line which you shouldn't and don't waste your time it is just as automated as LEE there customer service counter person... month later no gun. Only after throwing a fit over the phone with Lee the customer service rep at the Ammon Cabela's in Idaho Falls. I would not give her a job feeding my dog said she could not access any gun purchases, then why do you refer me to customer service after begging her to look up my order form which she....LEE continually told me my order was in progress she said , oh wait your order was canceled the day after you ordered it. No phone call , no warning , no money return ridiculous.... I've already paid interest on the credit card I bought the gun with not to mention it was a birthday gift for my father. I was told the gun sold out for the season and she asked me why did you buy it, why did I buy it!!!! REALLY she said that.....WOW I said why did your gun counter sell it to me as if it was my fault, another ridiculous question by this worthless Lee customer service individual Ammon Idaho falls branch. They took my money without question. This is my first complaint of any kind online I make my living with customer service if I treated my customers like Lee at Cabelas Ammon Idaho...I would be jobless and broke. read more

Meh. Smallest Cabela's store I've ever been to. Even smaller than the original in Nebraska. Limited selection. This was one of the "Cabela's Express" sized stores I think. Knowledge base is also hit or miss in this store. Better luck online unless you need to have it in hand before you buy. If that's the case good luck, the store may or may not have it. read more

Horrible store. Rude workers. I don't think Cabelas as a corporation even cares about its customers. Google it, most bad reviews I have found on a company in a while. I will spare everyone the details because not worth going into it but was treated very rudely at this store. Basically, the first review on here is negative, and I figured I would back that up and agree. Go somewhere else, not worth spending your money at a corporate place that doesn't care, even if they have cheap prices on certain things. Other things are way overpriced. While at the store contacting a store representative for help in locating an item that was in the ad. The store personnel called and stated that they would bring our item from the back. After 10 minutes we were told it was out of stock. Then proceeded to pay at the Kiosk for the item. Requested a receipt so when it arrived we would have a record. Clerk stated that we would have to go to customer service to obtain the receipt. This was done the day after Christmas and we were forced to wait in line another 20 minutes. When arriving at the Customer service counter the clerk did not know how to process the receipt. I had to give all of my information again and found that I would have been much better to have ordered it from home. It appears that the training and supervision at this store leaves alot to be desired. Of course when I call to give the information to the Store Manager, he is not available. Will do my shopping at Bass Pro from now on. read more
