Im never made to feel bad because I don't know much about my bike mechanics, and they always tell me all the fees and time it will take up front. They changed out my flat tire on the spot, where at another place they held my bike overnight! In the past they helped me install my bike lock mount for free (which I had struggled with on my own), and they also gave me a free tire fill-up! The store is clean and well laid out and they always give me all the facts about products instead of upselling me like other places.. I really can't say enough great things. I also love that they have women working there! It feels very comforting to enter a bike shop that's not a dude fest. There was also a very friendly golden retriever one time and he was soft and adorable.

My experience with Cyclemania Danforth was beyond disappointing. I brought in my e-bike in to have…read morethe brakes tightened and checked, as I was beginning a new job in a few weeks and intended to ride to work. The service itself was quick (about an hour) during a weekday afternoon. Worker didn't take down any information when I left my bike, and I just claimed it from the pile when I returned. My left brake was upon first inspection was tight, but the right side wasn't considerably tighter than how it came in. Despite requesting they inspect the brakes for issues, I wasn't told anything about my bike's condition. The work cost me approximately $60. On the third day of use riding to work, one half of the front brake system fell off and was lost to traffic. On the ride home, somehow despite not using the front brakes anymore, the other half of the front brakes were lost as well. Other than not being the tightest I hadn't had any issues with my brakes prior to taking them in for service, and coincidentally only 3 uses after getting my brakes supposedly tightened and CHECKED do they happen to fall apart completely. I thought I was paying for experts who could ensure this type of situation doesn't happen specifically. In my mind, either the pads were old and needed replacing, which should have come up when I was PAYING to have them checked, or the brakes were fine otherwise and it's the job the shop did that caused their failure. Either way, I'm unhappy with the results. I contacted the shop via email to explain the situation to see if there was anything to be done. Their reply verbatim was "Tighten and check doesn't guarantee that 3 weeks later your heavy e bike brakes will be still good . You bring bike and get inspected and we tell you what to do and cost of fixing". After already having paid for them to "inspect" my brakes, and only having used it less than 3 times, they somehow thought I'd give them more money. They not only refused to take responsibility for the poor quality of work done on the bike, but they also acted condescendingly towards me, as if I was at fault they didn't put on the brakes correctly or adequately inspect the condition of the brake system when instructed. I was disappointed by their lack of accountability and poor customer service. I had no choice but to take my bike to a different bike shop to fix the issue. At Cycle Solutions on Parliament, not only were the missing brake pads replaced, but they were also properly tightened (both sides!) all for a much cheaper price. Other than not telling me when I made the appointment I couldn't leave my bike battery in the shop (needing me to return home to get the key to remove it), The staff at this new bike shop was friendly and knowledgeable and even took down my information when I left my bike as if they were a legitimate business unlike some competitors. In comparison, Cyclemania's staff seemed careless about the safety of their customers. The experience really made me question the quality of the work they do. It was quite clear that they place profit over customer safety. I would strongly caution anyone against doing any business with them as they clearly are unable to provide the quality service that is required in the cycling industry.

So I emailed last Tuesday to inquire about an estimate timeframe for delivery. I could wait, I just would have liked to know if it was coming this month, if they accidentally sold out, etc. No response. I called last Friday and was told someone would call me this week. It is now Wednesday and no email response and no call. Then I got my husband to call and all of a suddent the owner Don will deliver tonight and he will delivery to the door. Then when he finally got to our place, he pretended not to hear me over the phone (I was typing and talking on speaker at the same time - repeatedly asking if he could hear), pretended not to get my texts, and he hung up on me. He didn't pick up the phone when I called him back but he answered the phone when my husband called him and it was only after my husband called him was it that he was finally able to find the front door. This guy is the owner? TLDR: TERRIBLE customer service. There are plenty of other bike shops in Toronto to support.

All seemed good--until they brought out my husband's bike, which turned out to have completely different specs than what was originally offered. We began discussing alternatives with the salesperson, and my husband started trying other models. Suddenly, the salesperson walked off to the parking lot because a friend of his had arrived. They came inside, but instead of continuing to help us, the salesperson turned his full attention to his friends and completely ignored us, it wasn't just a moment, it was at least 15-20 min, So we left. Thankfully, we then went to a store in Whitby where the experience was completely different. We were warmly welcomed, given clear explanations of so many options, and ended up purchasing two bikes very quickly. That's how customer service should be.

There were two young guys working in the shop. Both said hello and asked if I needed help. I explained what I had done and he gave me two options; buy an inner tube and replace myself, or leave it with them for an hour and they could replace it for me. I opted to leave it. In the end, it ended up taking longer than expected- but for $28 - it was worth it.

I went into Ya Bikes preemptively before dropping off my bike to see what the guys were like and if I could trust them with my bike. The first person I spoke to was really nice (wish i could shout him out) and gave me options for replacing my tube including coming back and having him replace it in an hour for $30. I was clear on the brand of bike and that it was a big heavy step through Dutch style. I never saw this man again unfortunately. I came back a few days later and dealt with the mechanic who's photo is all over the wall and upon me telling him my one tube was popped and the other possibly had a slow leak (I asked if they could check before replacing) tried mansplaining to me "have you tried putting air in them". He was rude, didn't listen, was short with me and told me it would take a day to fix the two flats. I didn't get a call back until the TWO days later. $100 later I picked up my bike. No one gave me any information on the fix or held the door open for my to walk the bike out. I was on my bike for less than a minute when I heard a horrible grinding noise and realized that they hadn't properly reattached my skirt guards. One fell off immediately and was instantly run over by the streetcar putting me in danger trying to save it and it got completely bent. The other continued to grind away as i made my way back to the shop. When I arrived to explain what happened I was interrupted again while the mechanic tried to mansplain my experience to me once more. I left again and had walked the 20 minutes home when I received a phone call that the bike is ready to be picked up again (it would have been nice to be given some timing or be told to wait) and that they will refund their labor because i was "clearly upset". The labor portion of a $100 invoice is not enough to cover a new skirt guard on a hand built British bike. When i returned again for the bike they wouldn't speak to me, didn't apologize, and when I drove away it is still making a horrible grinding and rattling noise that wasn't happening when I dropped it off. This is my closest bike shop and I will never bring my bike back here and will tell everyone I know to avoid this place. So utterly sad and disappointed about all of this.

They just want your money regardless of the shitty service they provide. After every time I assume it's an individual issue, and maybe I got the wrong guy or at the wrong time, and still give them my business, I regret it the following time when they prove me wrong. One of my bikes was stolen, and I went with my receipt to get the serial number for the police report and I was made fun off ! If you don't believe me, read all the other reviews that confirm the same issues about how they treat their customers. Another occasion I went to upgrade my handlebar, and the sales man was so condescending to explain the difference in sizes, and was so impatient. I bought 3 bikes from them, worth more than $15,000 plus more accessories, but I don't wish to ever go there again even if they were the last shop on earth.
