She'll tell you if what you're asking for will fry your hair off!! Which leaves me with SO much respect for her as a stylist. She has such a good energy and, she yaps with you!! Which is so big for me. Now, when you put aside alll of that, let's talk About my HAIR. I came to her with a mess that hadn't been touched in four years besides me dying over more dye. She trimmed the dead, and got to work. My hair looks and FEELS phenomenal, and beyond healthy. My appointment with her was a week ago and I'm still in shock haha.

It has been a year since my last cut so I'm so happy to have found Kelsey! Kelsey had great advice for my hair and seemed to know exactly what I was looking for in a cut/style. Interestingly, she specializes in long brunette hair - that's me - straight or curly. I'm thrilled with my haircut. My hair looks healthy, has movement and the cut is low maintenance. I feel like I've found my hair person in Kelsey! Also, Siren Salon has the cutest atmosphere and it is in walking distance to restaurants and breweries, in case you want to take your new hair out afterward!

I saw Kiersten first for a free 15 minute consult which is provided to ensure both client and stylist are on the same page for what is to be done. And let's be real: this is the perfect time to decide - as a new client - if you even like or trust the stylist. After feeling rather confident in what we talked about and Kiersten's proficiency, I made my actual appointment. Kiersten not only did exactly what I asked for (fixing years of Vancouver based stylist color/highlight mishaps) but she also gave me a great cut that flattered my messy, moody, curly hair. I immediate got home and recommended a friend to see her.

I am completely confident that I reviewed the correct business. My original review is accurate,…read morehonest, and still reflects my experience. I have not received any messages from your business through Yelp. If you do not recall this interaction, that is concerning. Original review: This salon butchered my hair for $60-80 and then banned me from ever receiving my promised "fix". In the salon chair I began coming down with a flu, and it was really horrible and hit me hard and fast. I couldn't really tell how bad my hair really was until 2 or 3 days later when I felt human again. I called the salon after looking at my hair from all angles clearly for the first time, trying not to cry because I was so upset at what I was seeing. I had originally asked for an A-line cut. This is what I received. The owner asked me to email a photo showing my haircut, so l did. She then told me she DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY HAIR..... I can laugh about it now but l sure was devastated when it happened. So after being dismissed I decided to open up a case with the BBB to try and rectify the problem since the owner wouldn't help me and was quite rude to me for no real reason I could see, considering this was not my fault. She tried blaming me since I was sick and didn't call them immediately. The salon owner told the BBB they would give me a free haircut to fix the problem. Ok, I accept that from another stylist, sure. I'm not looking to rip them off, I just want normal looking hair like I paid for. When I tried calling the salon to make an appointment for a fix a while later (brave, looking back) the person on the phone said I wasn't allowed there and nobody there would cut my hair! I didn't curse at these people, yell at them, or do anything disrespectful just to be clear. This was some time ago but I still want people to know how this business operates and I've never forgotten how horribly they treated me for no reason.

Thairapy PDX - Meet our stylists

Thairapy PDX

I want to take a moment to share my extensions install experience at Thairapy PDX (Vancouver)…read morebecause it has genuinely been transformative for me, both physically and emotionally. First, Lyndsay, the owner, is truly something special. I came to her in real pain from poorly sized/placed bonds done elsewhere, feeling discouraged and honestly afraid to trust anyone with my hair again. Lyndsay stepped in with so much compassion, care, and expertise. She listened, validated my concerns, and fixed the issue with an incredible level of skill. The end result was the most comfortable and stunning set of Great Lengths extensions I've ever had. I have very challenging hair: texture issues, thin density at the ends, and persistent frizz. Lyndsay handled it with confidence and precision. She is a true expert, but what sets her apart even more is her heart. She's a woman's woman in the best way: deeply compassionate, invested in her clients, and clearly someone who treats her stylists with respect and care. Because of that trust, she thoughtfully transitioned me to Makayla, and I couldn't be more grateful. Makayla is an absolute gem. She has taken the time to really learn my hair, understand its challenges, and ensure that every appointment leaves me comfortable, pain-free, and happy. I come in for continuous blowouts (at least bi-weekly) and regular move-ups, and the consistency and professionalism I experience every single time speaks volumes. Makayla has an incredible way of making me feel seen and pretty. I don't fit the conventional beauty mold by any means, but I leave her chair feeling confident, cared for, and genuinely uplifted. That kind of experience doesn't happen by accident--it's clearly the result of strong mentorship, encouragement, and a healthy salon culture fostered by Lyndsay. I also want to gently address some of the mixed reviews I've seen online. As someone who frequents the salon regularly, I find many of those statements confusing and contradictory to everything I've personally witnessed. This is a dynamic, professional team that tackles challenges head-on and fixes issues when they arise. There is accountability here, and most importantly, a clear commitment to clients. Though I am in no means discrediting what someone else has experienced or felt, my experience has been nothing less than exemplary. If you're someone who has difficult hair, doesn't "fit the mold," or has been burned before and is scared to try again, I cannot encourage you enough to book a consultation. This salon is a place of support, trust, and real expertise. I love being here, I love these women, and I'm so grateful to have found a team that truly cares.

I had a color/cut in June for my naturally curly hair. The stylist asked me about my process for…read morestyling and then loudly shamed me for the crime of brushing it, while dry. (I have the Unbrush, it's incredible, I can de-tangle in less than 15 minutes). Seriously, people turned and looked. In my experience, curly hair experts cut it while dry and never stretch while trimming. She did not do it that way and the degree of lopsidedness that was obvious within 2 weeks was so disappointing. I emailed to see if they would fix it and they didn't respond. The color was good though. I'm finally working up the nerve to find someone to cut my hair again.

I had just done my hair how I liked it, so she starts cutting away. What was suppose to be layering all around turned into a light little trim that took no real bulk off. We then go to the shampoo, conditioner, and restyling with gel(i tell her at the beginning that I ABSOLUTELY HATE gel and do no use it). After fully drying my hair it is all crunchy and not how I would ever style in my own. She keeps taking off a millimeter at a time asking how I like it. At this point I'm tired of sitting in this uncomfortable chair and I know I'm going to go home and fix it myself. After redoing my hair how I like it at home I see that she didn't do jack shit. She also gave me her card so I could contact her again. The only real use for that card is so I can put her name in this review. I can't believe this bullshit haircut was a month wait for disappointment. That money could have went to something that actually made me happy.
