Detroit pepperoni- great crust and beer!
Steve P.

We stopped by for dinner on a Saturday. Very quaint local place. A ways from downtown with plenty of parking. Nice quiet atmosphere- mix of young, old, and families eating. Neat small bar up front. We got a small Detroit pizza and it was great. Nice selection of beer, which was also fabulous. Good friendly service. Nice welcoming place that we would go back to again.

Inside - interior needs an update

Was in the mood for pizza and this spot was close to my hotel. Pulled up and thought they might be closed as it looked empty despite being 5:15pm on a Saturday. Went inside and no customers inside! Received a friendly greeting when I walked inside and ordered the Korean BBQ PIZZA - Detroit style. As the only customer I thought the food would be ready soon. The pizza took 25 minutes but finally came. Deep dish pizza was loaded with toppings. BBQ pork, jalapeños, peppers, and pineapple with a unique sauce. The combo of sweet/spicy worked and I enjoyed the pizza. Inside needs an update but was clean.

It was good, quality, pizza better than most pizza restaurants out there. The employees were very friendly and helpful. It looks like a great place to watch your favorite game. I would definitely go back. Thanks Spitfire Pizza for a great experience.

Great beer, great service, phenomenal Detroit style pizza. Ordered the detroiter Detroit style add hot honey so delicious.

I had the strawberry blue cheese salad and it was delicious. The aesthetic is lacking but the food is delicious.

The food and service were great. I would recommend the strawberry salad. The deep dish pizza was tasty. I would highly recommend checking it out. The exterior could use some updating, but it doesn't reflect how good the food is.

Kept driving by and decided to take sis here for lunch.. OMGOODNESS where have you been all my life?? Cute little spot, friendly guy making pizzas and serving great beer. Sis was a bit skeptical pulling into the parking lot (the landscaping could use some love) but it's clean and comfy inside. I've found my new date night spot

Spitfire Craft Pizza & Pints in Boise specializes in Detroit style pizza, which is a rectangular pan pizza with a thick, crisp, chewy crust. It is traditionally topped to the edges with mozzarella and/or Wisconsin brick cheese, which caramelizes against the high-sided heavyweight rectangular pan. Spitfire Craft Pizza & Pints opened in August 2018. I visited Spitfire Pizza for the first time on 6/2/23. I ordered The Detroiter ($18) - Smoked pepperoni under cheese, natural casing pepperoni on top. This is the small size. There's also a larger size available for $28. This was my first time trying the pizza, I was doing take-out, and didn't plan to eat the pizza in one sitting, so I asked that they only put the pizza sauce on top (as is traditional with Detroit style pizza) of two of the pizza squares. They sent me home with extra sauce. Spitfire is new favorite pizza!!! The crust is exceptional. The combination of the carmelized cheese, nice chew, and buttery flavor is unbeatable. The pizza sauce was nice and savory, and the pepperoni was high quality. The pizza was perfectly cooked, as evidenced by the pepperoni cups. Spitfire also offers hand tossed or thin crust pizza. They offer hand tossed Gluten - Free pizza. They have five Vegan pizza options on the menu. They offer 16 PNW craft beers, which are constantly changing. Spitfire has a nice neighborhood feel. They have a lot of regulars. But whether you're a regular customer or not, you're going to be treated very well. The service was excellent! Highly Recommended!!!

Spitfire has great pizza! If you order at the restaurant, be prepared to drink a beer or two, as it takes a little while for the deep dish to cook. The pizza is always delicious. Staff is friendly. My only suggestion would be to pull the weeds out front, put up a couple signs to let customers know that they are open. Inside could use a good cleaning. I do recommend this place and will continue to be a customer.

Half burnt pizza, the other half undercooked.

Very disappointed with this place. Went there with family and friends. Ordered several pizzas, one was for my son (half cheese and half mushroom). They brought out our food but had forgotten my son's order apparently. By the time they brought his pizza we were done eating. Then they served him this garbage. Half his pizza had burnt cheese while the other half was about halfway cooked. They must have forgotten to add mushrooms and added it later. It was disgusting and inedible. We took it back to the counter and they gave us some halfassed apology but no refund for the pizza. I will never eat here again.

We visited this restaurant in mid afternoon before catching a flight. We chose it due to proximity to airport. Yelp reviews seemed to be good but not so for Google. In a nutshell, great food but welcoming atmosphere was less than desirable. Only one employee (I'm assuming the owner) with no personality. He did, however, get our food made, and delivered to our table in a timely manner. Only three other patrons in the restaurant at the time. I would've given four stars, if there was a sign that said, " Please seat yourself and order at the register or bar." You will not get a "Hello, thank you, your welcome, what can I get you. Can I get you another drink? Thanks for coming." But the food will be tasty!

Bittercreek provided me with just what I needed today. Warm and inviting service and a terrific selection of food and beverages for me to enjoy. Dined alone at the bar and everyone that I came into contact with did what I expect. Timely greet and informative service personnel. Hats off to the whole team. Was talked into a Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley and it was spectacular. I usually stick to Willamette Valley reds but went for it after a tiny taste. It's what I needed but didn't know it until it was offered. Too many times I stick to my wheelhouse and don't stray but was coerced by someone who I assumed was the inhouse shotcaller. I had two glasses and it went well with the Bowl of Corn Chowder I was told about. Served hot and with some semi crusty sourdough that hit the spot. Finished every spoonful and it brought me back to my time in New England. The soup was done right for sure. Noone trying too hard which is an issue when trying to recreate a coastal favorite while land locked in the mountain state of Idaho. Right before I had.my second glass of Chardonnay, I asked "the front of the house shot caller" about the selection of Rums and was offered a taste of one that could have been a contender for my follow up beverage. No mixer needed. Would have made a great sipper, as most good rums can be but I elected for the second glass of Chardonnay. Glad that I did. Was feeling a bit buzzed and full from my meal and had to exit stage left before trying a dessert. I'm sure it would have been epic but I'm thin for a reason and don't overindulge. Thank you Bittercreek! My visit with you all made me wonder why I hadn't been in since 2006 or 2007. I'll, certainly, be visitong more often and will bring others with. You've got a fan in me!

My co workers and I headed to Bittercreek for my birthday and happy hour! We were killing two birds…read morewith one stone today and we were all here for it! A couple of my friends showed up first, got a great table outside and ordered a couple apps to get the party started. I showed up after goodies and drinks were ordered. We started off with some chips and salsa and pountine. The chips and salsa looked good but the pountine was definitely calling my name! I love me some potatoes and these potatoes looked like they were going to be right up my alley! I dished up a good portion before my friends got some. They were kind to let me plate first cause of my new kidney. I didn't want to be too greedy so the portion I got was a few bites. Those few bites got me hooked so it was a must to get another order started. While my order of pountine was being worked on, I tried the pretzel with cheese and the hummus plate. The pretzel was perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was the perfect addition to the soft pretzel. I took a good amount of the hummus and Greek salad. The pita that came with it was a great vessel for the hummus. It was crispy with a slight chew to it. The hummus was clean tasting and rich. The Greek salad was so fresh. All the components of the salad tasted like they were just picked from the garden. You literally can't get anymore farm to table than that! It was so fresh! The second order of pountine came out. Everything about this appetizer was delicious! I love soggy, softer fries and these fries were the business! The gravy and cheese were the highlight of the dish for me. You can never go wrong with potatoes, cheese and gravy! There was a good amount of meat on the pountine. It was so tender! You can tell it was cooked with a lot of love and time! I took the rest home and I plan on hiding my box in the back of my fridge so my daughter can't get to it! We ended our happy hour with the beignets. Each one of these goodies were covered in powered sugar. The caramel sauce that was paired with it was devine! In all honesty, as full as I was, I could have polished off an order myself! They were the perfect dessert to end this fabulous meal. Bittercreek has been on my to go list for a hot minute. I'm so happy we got to come here and celebrate my birthday. The food was marvelous. Our server did a fantastic job taking care of us! Our waters were always filled. Our cocktails were never dry. And our plates were always filled cause food was always ordered on time for us. Homie was on point tonight! The venue can't be any more stunning. The weather was lovely. We were meant to be here today! In so happy we started my birthday week off at Bittercreek!

He was very informative about where to go and places to check out in Boise. I ordered one of the local beers and their flagship meal, the Santa Maria Tri Tip Sandwich. As you can see by looking at the photos, the tri-tip was cooked to perfection. It had tomatoes, poblano, and chimichurri sauce on it to add to the flavors of the tri-tip. The bread consistency was great, not too soggy, and with a great crispy texture. I wish they had spread the tri-tip out more to make sure every bite was being celebrated. I also ordered the mac and cheese as the side per the instructions of the bartender, James. Let me say that was one of the best mac and cheeses that I have ever had. Truly amazing creamy texture and full of rich flavor. Everything melted in your mouth. Definitely worth it. I eventually ended up talking to a fellow bar sitter, and he ended up being the co-owner of the place, TJ. He also filled me in on the places to go and, most definitely, the places to travel to, to experience great beer. He was refreshing to talk to since most people don't have the passion for beer that we both represent. I would highly recommend this place for the staff that is there the solid pub style restaurant that they have created. Super easy and relaxed kinda of place.

I placed a to go order and had a nice chat with the bartender while I waited. I got the pickled eggs which were just OK. We were hoping that it would have a more intense pickled flavor than it did. I also ordered the frito pie. The chili was dry and there weren't many Fritos with it. No cheese either. We got the Philly style chopped tri tip sandwich. The bread and meat were dry. The redeeming dish was the Mac and cheese. It was amazing!
