Saw the reviews so decided to check out somewhere new. We were greeted at counter by very nice order gentleman who was kind enough to give my wife beer samples before ordering. The buffalo chicken pizza was recommended so ordered one Detroit Style with a salad. Order was brought to us by a very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We later wished we got the bigger size lol The Detroit Style has a thick soft crust so was nice to have something different. I can't say much about service or atmosphere because we didn't eat at the restaurant but if you want good pizza this is the place. I think in terms of price, it's pretty reasonable as well. We're new in town and we were craving some pizza. My boyfriend stumbled upon this gem and we were not disappointed! The food was so delicious and customer service was great! We stayed until 5 minutes before closing (we had some drinks; highly recommend Lemon Basil Cider & Raspberry Cider btw) and they we're super chill about it, didn't feel judged by or rushed! Let me start off by saying that I fully understand the labor shortage as well as the supply chain issues. Things are out of stock, restaurants are overwhelmed--it sucks and it's hard. What I *don't* understand is what happened at Spitfire this afternoon. The man working was the ONLY person working. What a crappy position to be in. But here's what's also crappy: stopping in for a "quick" lunch when you have a few minutes to spare from work, and being given a bad attitude (or being fully ignored) when you're trying to give a local business your patronage. You're too busy to get to the 3 people in line right away? Fine. But a, "Hey folks! I'm the only one working today and it's going to take me about ten minutes to get to you--hope you're ok with waiting," goes a LONG way. Instead, everyone is just standing around awkwardly with absolutely zero communication. It's rude and embarrassing to feel unwanted in a place who clearly needs you. I ordered a to go order. Ordered the Detroiter with some extra toppings and also a Cesar salad. The Detroiter comes with pepperonis. Mine didn't. It only came with the extra toppings that I had ordered. And there wasn't any red sauce on it at all. They did put the sauce in some small cups on the side, but I wasn't expecting that at all. Also, the Cesar salad was literally just lettuce and the croutons. None of the awesome cheese. The dressing was on the side which was fine. Their Cesar dressing is awesome. You'll order your pizza and beer at the counter and they'll bring it to your table. I tried Bella Brewing's Spring Moss Ale and Bear Island's Summer Spud IPA. Both delicious and paired nicely with our food. They had quite a few drafts and all were local or from the PNW. My dining partner ordered the cheese bread and calzone and I had the Sweet n Spicy Detroit style.l pizza. Without a doubt, the star of the menu is the crust. They cook it in a hot metal pan and the cheese drips over the side and gets crispy and so golden delicious. I have never loved a thick crust so much. And because they put the sauce on top, the crust has a really beautiful chew. You can taste all of the layers. It was a very enjoyable experience. Tuesday trivia was a BLAST! We had the chance to stop in NYE to try this place. I've seen it on Yelp and new it was a new place in Boise so I had wanted to stop in and try it. Man I'm glad I did! This is a place where you go in, check out the menu, order at the counter, then find your seat. It is not a typical restaurant, but more of a seat yourself. You can get your order to go it to stay. Get it to eat in so you can have a chance to see the decor on the walls. Or watch a game on one of the many TVs in the seating area. We got several pizzas to try: A cheese, the Detroiter, and the Spitfire. I'll post pics too. Drinks are with beer or cider on tap, or a can of something. No fountain drinks, which is fine, but also no refills. Pizzas were excellent. Thick buttery pan crust, very filling, and excellent red sauce. Sauce is flavorful and robust, exactly what I want in a pizza sauce. Plenty of cheese, and a good crust, crispy on the edges from the metal pan. My hubby got the Detroiter and lived it, but even he couldn't finish his. My brother got the Spitfire and loved it. Both guys finished 4 of the 6 pieces, however I only could eat 2 of the 6 of mine so be sure to come with a very hungry appetite. Note* it does heat up well in the oven. I heated up 2 pieces last night right before midnight and it tasted great! Overall, an excellent stop in for pizza night. Staff and service is friendly and quick.
