I made an appointment to have dashboard lights checked and to determine why my brake lights went out. My appointment was for 7:00a.m. when I arrived, I explained the issues, exactly like I did during the phone call. The mechanic or owner of the shop stated they do not service Hyundai's with this type of issues. He asked if I told Rich the make and model of my vehicle. I couldn't remember but I would think Rich would've ask me that question. It was suggested I go here, but that turned out to be bad advice. read more

I highly recommend SpitFire for all your car repairs. The staff is friendly and so accommodating! I recently called about a flat tire and they took me immediately. They explained what they found wrong with the tire and recommended replacing the 2 back tires as they were already 6 years old and gave me a very fair price on 2 new tires. I forgot the guy who worked on my 2021(2020 through the vin) Dodge Challenger Scatpack, but I came in for a wheel alignment, was told that I bent a part that would've cost me $800-900 dollars, but lucky with them having experience he was able to find another to fix the problem that help me save so much money and the car is riding back brand new, the are very reliable, communication there, n if you don't know anything they will talk n help you understand the problem. It took us a few years to discover this place unfortunately. The prices are usually a bit higher than average, I am willing to pay a bit more to keep going here. I like to try to get second opinions on my car whenever possible. These guys never try to sell me things that are not needed but make recommendations on what is going to be needed in the near future and let me make the final decisions. As most of the other guys try to tell me the options work needs to be performed immediately. I appreciate their honestly and they have always done quality work for me. read more

Finally!!! A car repair shop that not only does things right in their state of the art facility, but they garuntee their work. Awesome. I had gone to numerous different car repair shops that were quoting me at least about 500 dollars to repair the passenger side lower control arm and a couple of other rinkydink things. But $500+ dollars is a decent amount of money no matter who you are. Plus to have someone look at the car and make an estimate takes at least a half an hour and sometimes costs money. So after geting quotes from about 4 different shops, I finally brought my car to spitfire and was nearly floored about what happened. They looked at my car and within 15 minutes they had diagnosed the problem and had given me an estimate. The funny thing is that the previous four places that had quoted my and told me that certain things were wrong with my car, they were wrong. As it turns out it was my stabilizer bars, and a missing bushing on the passenger side. That was it. So within a couple of hours after dropping my car off it was fixed, plus I saved more than $150 bringing my car here. So my recommendation is bring your car here. The work and parts are usually garunteed, they have more specialty certifications than any other garage I've seen. Not to mention they have state of the art equipment. read more

An engine Diagnostic Test = $78.88 They found close to $1,000 stuff of repairs with my car, with the actual parts costing about $400 with shipping after I googled them. Their waiting area sucks if its hot outside even with the AC being on. They explained to me what was wrong with the car at an average level.. nothing too extraordinary. I should have gone to the Car-X right across it, either ways I will just wait till this car breaks down and buy another one because paying $1000 on car repair is not worth it. read more

I was very pleased with the service i received! I had an oil change on my vehicle, scheduling was easy as they had an online option and i received a very quick confirmation email for the appointment. I arrived early and was checked in with no problem. They did a vehicle inspection, lubed what needed to be lubed on the vehicle ( I could actually see them do it) and performed what you would expect to go with an oil change. I have paid more for oil changes and did not feel I had the same level of service or inspection from a mechanic. As I was waiting they spoke to two different customers gave them very detailed diagnosis and I did not feel like they were trying to gouge as many services as they could. One of the customers was told that the cost of what was needed didn't seem logical due to the $ worth of the vehicle, "it's my job to make money for the shop, but it just doesn't seem like it makes sense here". I was very happy to hear a mechanic being honest and thinking of the customers wallet. Honesty, affordable and peace of mind well worth 5 stars! read more

September 2011. Engine Diagnostic Test = $98+. Quoted $750ish for repairs, $350 for part and $400 for labor. Googled part online and found how simple it was to purchase and replace. Picked up part locally for $208 for Carquest and installed in less than 30 minutes. This place is a joke. read more

I've been taking my cars to Spitfire now for about 9 years. My experience with them is that they are highly professional, reliable and prompt. They get the work done as promised when promised. Routine maintenance is quite reasonably priced, but there have been just a couple of times when it ran a little high. Overall, you couldn't do better. read more

My friend Mary Jo O'Leary brought her van in for service in April 2014 because the vehicle was overheating. When she brought the car in, the A/C was working. When she picked it up, the A/C was not working. During the service for the overheating, (according to the receipt), a cooling(ant) flush was done and "A/C heater control check". In addition, a " blower motor resistor" was installed. The mechanics Al and Jim claimed that the work that was performed in April was not related to the A/C. If an A/C heater control check was done, how is that the mechanics are now saying that work performed was not related?? Not to mention the fact that when Mary Jo left, Al laughed at her. This is a contract between the customer and the mechanic. She paid the bill, but is not satisfied with the service provided. Mary Jo was a first time customer who put her trust in Spitfire to fix her vehicle. The service that she provided certainly does not promote repeat business on her part or positive word of mouth advertising. I would not Recommend this auto shop to anybody. The only way I may even think about recommending this place to anybody would be for maybe brakes or just an oil change. The service was ok, but I am under the opinion that they only care about the profit and not the customers. I recently went in to have a checkup on my vehicle's engine to figure out what was wrong to have a test done to then later found out that the mechanic i would choose over spitfire in a heart beat knew the problem without having to charge me a dime. Now that is an honest mechanic not going to beat around the bush and take your money. The name of that shop is Bridgeview motive and Auto located out in Bridgeview and talk to Mousa hes a great mechanic. The next time you think about choosing a mechanic don;t just think oh spitfire is close I'll go to them. Go somewhere honest that is not going to charge you an insane amount of $$$$$$. If you have a vehicle that is a little older and needs expensive work done DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO SPITFIRE if you want to burn a whole in your pocket. Go to a mechanic thats not going to screw you for extra money. Overall I would not recomend this shop to anyone it is horrible and in the future like I am now I will continue to tell individuals to stay away Spitfire Until they change their philospohy about caring about the customers, but I doubt that will ever change read more
