I highly recommend not going here for any repairs, Especially a radiator. I had my radiator go bad around Halloween of 2018. I took my car to this local radiator shop since my go to shop was busy (1 mile south of this location) on 11-2-18. I hoped they would be good since it appears it's their "speciality". So I paid an arm and a leg and got my car back. I drive to work the next day and I'm leaking coolant. I go back and they said there was an issue with the cap (on a "new" radiator). So they "fixed" it. Within a week (11-12-18) On the way to work, I pull into my parking garage, and now my car is smoking! I look down the ramp and there's a trail of coolant (pic below). Pop the hood and coolant is everywhere! Blown hose! I guess I should've made sure new hoses would be installed with a new radiator. So I paid more money for them to fix the hoses. Fast forward just a year later... Coolant was leaking. I take it to another shop to look at it. They said the radiator appears to be bad. I mentioned it was a year old and they said it is probably defective or a cheap brand. I call this place (11-12-19) and they say they can probably warranty the part but not the labor. I mention the fact that my car was back 3 times (between 11-2-19 & 11-12-19) before they got it working right, couldn't that extend my warranty by a week ? Nope! Can't do anything about the labor says the owner. Way to back your product and work. I was supposed to take it in tomorrow, but I don't think I want to waste my time and money on at a dishonest place that doesn't back their work. Guess I'll go somewhere else and get a repair done that'll last. Not one that will coincidentally fail after a year. Just to add, I have a used car which means many repairs. This is literally the only time in my 6 years of owning this car that I had to go back for a repair. Lesson learned and I wouldn't be surprised if this place doesn't last much longer. They specialize in AC. That is what I came for and is what this review is about. These are stand up guys. Honest dealings. They will work with u if u experience any issues. Lisa who is the intake person and mechanic is amazing. The owners are really sweet, informative and professional. This place stays busy! Be prepared to leave ur car overnight. Got 2 recharges. Leak found eventually but too costly to fix. They helped me through this ordeal of trying to get AC in blazing hot 2020 record summer heat but it is what it is. read more

I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, but these mecanics and the owners are great people, friendly and always reasonable. I've taken my cars to them for more than 15 years. I've never gone anywhere else. If they are as bad as those reviews state, they wouldnt be around as long as they have (30+ years). The whole town knows them as being honest and fair with prices. Scam artist at their best! I came in and was quoted one price, I came back and all of a sudden it was nearly $200 more. They never called and said they were doing additional work. I feel completely scammed and will never return again! read more

The workers here were friendly and considerate to my time. I bring my cars here and every time it gets done within the same day. Going to the mechanics can be scary. I'm very skeptical when bringing my cars into the mechanics. This is now the only place I would take my cars in and I would highly recommend friends/family to do the same. read more

I took my Tahoe there to have the hood release latch that is inside of my truck replaced and was told that they could fix it and I was charged 65.00. I was there for about an hour, when they were done I left, while driving down Pulaski I looked and there was no latch! I went back and told the person at the counter Rafael, who I initially spoke with, there wasn't a latch in my car, he said that I told him the latch under the hood, which I did not. I can understand maybe there was a misunderstanding. The other owner told me to bring my vehicle back another day and they will fix it, I don't live in the area but I said okay. The mechanic that was supposed to fix the latch knew there was nothing wrong with the latch under the hood and instead of him saying I don't see anything wrong with the the latch he pretended to fix it. I was very upset because they are already expensive and I feel they are over charging their customers, people that can go anywhere else but chose to come there, and on top of that the mechanic being deceptive and not trustworthy. I got rid of my truck and now have a car with an under the hood latch problem I called telling them the situation and reminding them what happened over a year ago and I was told by Rafael to bring the car in. My car was looked at by the other owner and I was told that he did not remember the situation before, (it was over a year ago), and would charge me 95.00 to put the latch on but because the car is an older one I would have to purchase the latch and they would put it on for 95.00. These men did an EXCELLENT job on my Ford escape a few months ago! My air conditioner was blowing warm air, which at the time, it was extremely hot outside. I went to Pep Boys in Orland Park and was quoted a bill of over $1400 to repair my issue. I went to Cool Rite and they repaired my air for $500!!!! I believe I was being lied to at Pep Boys , however, these guys at Cool Rite certainly earned my respect. My air was blowing FREEZING air immediately upon pick up. Only took about 4 hours to do. This place should go out of business. Originally went to this place to have my gas tank replaced, $425 and a week later... got the car back and the gas tank wasn't put on right. Fuel would shoot back out when trying to fill, would have to fill so slow it would take 10 minutes just to get some gas in the tank. On 12/17/16 the carb backfired and melted. Had the car towed to "cool rite" and they said the carb would have to be replaced and it would be a week or two. After hearing "the car will be ready in about week" several weeks in a row. Finally on 02/03/17 the car was ready. "The car runs really good." He said after charging $780. The car has never been the same sense it has been to "cool rite". They didn't even hook up the idle air flow sensor, they left it unplugged. Whenever its plugged in the car dies out. They have turned a car that has never had problem into a car that can't even make it down the street without dying out, this was due to the fuel pump. They were told to replace the fuel pump but they never did. Probably to lazy to even try. Took the car back for the LAST time on 02/0817 for the original gas tank problems. They said that the gas tank was faulty and STILL charged $87. Why would they charge for something that they caused?? Doesn't make sense to me! Recently after taking my car in for a Oil change at Tuffy Auto Service in Frankfort they told me whatever yoohoos put that carb in didn't know what they were doing. And that it was pieced together. They didn't even tune the carb!!! No wonder it took to months... they were trying to figure out what a car was. read more
