    Calamari

Maybe I expected too much. Selected here for spouse's birthday and website menu listed pork loin - their favorite. Made reservation - arrive to 5 tables, one departing. Staff tells us it will be a few as they are only person on. A booth is bused for us but table top is dripping wet - when we ask to have it wiped dry we are told we can move to another table. We simply wipe it down with the cloth napkin and ask for clean napkins. The menu is minimal - entrees are burger, fish & chips, fettuccine, & eggplant. We understand that there needs to be flexibility with current food supplies but that means keeping media updated to reflect menu options. We asked about having Alfredo sauce with our bread instead of marinara and we're told entrees are already dished and there isn't extra Alfredo - it was an odd explanation. We had the calamari as an appetizer - yummy, definitely try this! Also clam chowder - good. I had the pork roast stew which was a special and it was good too. I drank the Allure and it was a nice unique gin cocktail. Staff too rushed and hurried - provides minimal and essentials for meal but this creates unpleasant experience and isn't healthy for staff at all. Saw signs they are hiring and certainly wish them the best.

Great outdoor dining, with beautiful rose, vegetable and herb gardens surrounding the patio. Bay and Marina views; bald eagles flying overhead too during our dinner! Incredible and unique dining location. Food was delicious, and reasonably priced. Wine list very nice and affordable. Service was sincere and attentive. Very pleased; great value, and food was delicious and visually stunning.

Huge portions! The food was great! We are from out of town and considered a number of places all over to eat and picked this location, we were not disappointed. We had the calamari as our app then my husband ordered the Seafood Risotto. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and could not finish it. Every plate that came from the kitchen was huge! Absolutely no room for dessert, but maybe next time. The views are great and everyone followed Covid protocols. Please keep in mind the fact that you will have a meal and take a meal when you check out the menu.

I love this idea, would be fun to come back and see what album you order out of next. Anyway, I ordered out of a Carpenters album, which was appropriate because I was absolutely starving. Thankfully they bring bread and butter out to you very quickly after you sit down. The bread was great, very fresh and tasty. I had the special entree- King salmon in brown butter sage, it was amazing. Good sides and veggies too. Service was great and friendly. I am really glad I had dinner here.

Not a large menu but they were fast to bring out the food and they always have rotating specials with something for everyone on the menu. BBQ Ribs 2.3/5 Overall. Meat 2/5. Sauce 2/5. Sides 2/5. Size & Value 3/5. Massive 1/2 rack of Carolina gold bbq ribs with a slice of cornbread, coleslaw and buttery mash potatoes. The ribs were huge but most of it was pretty greasy and inedible fat to be honest. Could have used more sauce, good seasoning though. Excellent buttery mashed potatoes. Good coleslaw (I usually don't finish coleslaw and I did ). Good size slice of cornbread but it is not overly sweet, I like it sweeter or served with honey.

Some of our favorites are their steamed mussels (the best on the island), fried oysters (as an appetizer or with their amazingly good fries as a small bites entrée), lobster rolls (the bread is heavenly), and broiled haddock. Our server (big guy, originally from SoCal) was friendly and showed us the chalkboard that listed types of available oysters and their flavor profiles. We both ordered clam chowder, she ordered mussels and I ordered the flounder po'boy special. The fries that came with the po'boy were excellent, with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. The flounder had a very light breading and the flesh was moist. The meh: The chowder was flavorless and had a bit too much flour or corn starch in it. It really needed fresh herbs and seasoning. We actually added salt to it, something we almost never do. The broth with the mussels also lacked flavor. And the po'boy really needed more aioli or tartar sauce. Also, my chair was repeatedly bumped by servers and other patrons. So, our ~$120 lunch (w/tip) left us wishing we had headed north to Seabolt's instead.

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service…read more My husband and I have been coming to the John Wayne Marina restaurant for several years, which makes writing this review especially disappointing. We made our reservation over a week in advance to celebrate a much anticipated vacation with one of our "normally" favorite Sequim restaurants. We specifically requested a particular table. In fact, we originally wanted Saturday, but we were told that table was unavailable that evening. Because that table was important to us, we changed our plans and requested Friday at 4:30 PM instead. We were told they already had a 3:30 reservation and 5:00 was the earliest time they could offer. When we arrived, the table was already recently occupied. I politely explained to the hostess why we had changed our reservation. She acknowledged there were no notes on the reservation and said she would check on the table and get the manager. Manager "Melody" came out, and after I calmly explained the situation again, the first thing she said was, "We instruct our staff that we can't guarantee any table, but we try to do our best." That response completely missed the point. Had someone simply said, "I'm so sorry. We made a mistake. Let me see what I can do to make this right," the evening there could have been salvaged. Even if the requested table wasn't available, offering an appetizer, a dessert, or simply showing genuine concern would have demonstrated that customer service still matters. Instead, the conversation immediately shifted to explaining the restaurant's policy rather than acknowledging the restaurant's mistake. Ironically, if tables truly aren't guaranteed, then we should have been able to reserve that same table on Saturday--the very night we were originally told it wasn't available. The explanation simply didn't match what we had been told when making the reservation. Rather than let the experience ruin our evening, we politely thanked Melody, left, and had a wonderful dinner at local Italian restaurant, Tedesco's, where Sarah offered terrific customer service. In the end, our vacation evening turned out great--but not because of the service we received from the Dockside. Mistakes happen. Good customer service is measured by how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated a lack of ownership, empathy, and hospitality, from management, specifically Melody. After several years of dining here with a great view and exceptional food, unfortunately, the service was incredibly disappointing.

The first was my birthday last year, chosen by a friend (I'd never heard of it). This year I was asked where I wanted to go. I did not hesitate to say here! I couldn't be anything other than delighted in my decision--from the pleasantness inside, the wonderful view from our window, the delightful staff and the incredible food and drinks, this place is wonderful. Lucky me that my birthday was on a Wednesday so I could be totally influenced to have oysters-on-the-half shell due to a generous Wednesday night special. I do love raw oysters--and these were so tiny and briny and so incredibly good, I could have eaten five dozen! (I am kicking myself for not finding out what kind they were, but no matter. I would be happy with any they are serving here, I am sure.) I had already planned on having the Oysters Rockefeller (known here as Manor Rockefeller), and so, despite having just downed some oysters, I went ahead anyway and am glad I did! They were wonderful. And there was no real reason for me to pause for a moment in my decision, having already had oysters, because these were soooooo different. It was almost like eating a delicious oyster casserole in a shell. The Mediterranean Mussels were wonderful! (Notice, I was having a dinner of appetizers...) The broth they came in was beautiful (and drinkable, if one were so inclined). I loved the surprising tastiness of the Mama Lil's Peppers swimming around in it. At first I wondered if they would be too hot and compete with the flavor--overwhelming it--but no! Not at all. They were a perfect and flavorful touch. Absolutely wonderful. (And having said that, I know that "pepper heat" is an individual thing--I can tolerate a goodly amount, fyi--I just didn't taste these as hot at all.) Our server, Drew, was immensely helpful (and always charming!) He paired our food with a delicious wine. I guess we would assign my bowl of clam chowder to the dessert category--very thick and creamy--along with a lovely after-dinner cocktail, made by the wonderful and delightful bartender, Sherry. She made me a lovely mocktail to start--I asked Drew to have the bartender just make something up on a whim. It was pretty, colorful and delish with what in it, I have no idea. But, not only was it delectable, it was a vision! All festive and fuchsia, with a "bartender's cherry," and a hot pink umbrella. When I learned Sherry made it, I was so happy because I remembered her from last year--very skilled and very fun to chat with. A wonderful birthday--I highly recommend the Manor.

The goal was fresh oysters and we had passed the ones on the side of the road with little parking and landed here. Cute, clean, and nicely decorated. The views are really nice. The staff are great! Friendly and know the menu. The cod with crusted pesto was okay. The pesto was suppose to be crusted and was more of a sauce. Flavor was okay but there was a tomato sauce on the bottom. The two sauces didn't work together. The fish could have been cooked more too. A little on the raw side. The ceviche was tasty. The only advice there is cut the cucumbers and dice the jalapeños to match the size of the fish pieces. Fresh Oysters are not on the menu!! We were super disappointed because that's why we stopped! After we ordered other stuff I asked "do you have fresh oysters" and they said yes! You have to ask "by request only." We had 6 of the small oysters which were decent enough. The red sauce was a shrimp cocktail sauce which is not good for this dish. The horseradish was good! Had a kick! I love the spot and I am sure the locals love it! I can see why.
