It was our first time coming to Spirit Water for a Friday night Funnier By The Lake Comedy show. The atmosphere is very laid back, but festive with the lights and layout, and I love the comfy couch corner area. I appreciate that the place is dog friendly too. The owners and staff here are fantastic and make you feel immediately welcomed. They take time to educate you on their selections and share some of the unique history of this place. I enjoyed the bourbon, on ice, very much, and also tried a shot of amaretto and a tequila. I will definitely be back to try more of their spirits, as everything I tried was smooth, flavor filled, and just left me wanting more! Thought we'd check this place out before heading to dinner. Great idea! Bartender Kevin was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions. Loved the fact that he asked if we had ever been - he gave us the low down and explained the drink menu. They have lots of different choices for beer & spirits. The Amaretto Stone Sour (receipt said 10 oz for $12 - it was more like 5 ounces) & Vodka Elderflower ($6) were both very good. They also sell spirits by the bottle, hats & other items. Great place to pick up something local! The place doesn't appear to serve food and they have a couple seating areas away from the bar both inside & outside where you congregate with friends. Pretty cool, unusual products. The owner is the creator of Not Your Father's Root Beer that Pabst marketed a few years ago and was a hot item at the time. My friend and I stopped in on a Sunday and the place was pretty quiet. The owner and bartender greeted us warmly. We both did flights. I should add that the brewed beverages are marketed as beer, but I'd recommend approaching them like hard soda instead. I liked what I drank and the owner even gave us each a free one, but the flavor is more on the sweet and botanical side. We did not try their distilled spirits. The hard sodas are pretty powerful in terms of abv. I drank 4 of the 5 from my flight and most of the one I got as a freebie and was pretty hammered. Couldn't finish my last one as I didn't want to be carried out. I will probably come back sometime and go a bit slower (and eat beforehand). The owner is a really friendly guy who is proud of his business and likes to talk about his concept. They seem to have drawings and events there too. How about both a brewery and distillery? If it sounds good to you, come here. Spirit Water certainly is a place to get your drink on. Just out of the way a bit. There's certainly lots to choose from. Came here to raise our spirits and drink some of that water, which is actually booze. It's one of those places that doubles as a brewery and distillery. That means there's plenty to drink no matter your preferred tastes. It's about $9 a pint for beer. That's a lot. It's like getting it in a stadium at a sporting event. The high prices are more acceptable here because it's very high quality. Each of us tried a beer. I got the Peach Ginger Tea. Beer is strong here. This one was 7% ABV, and many are more. For the most part beers are strong, and a few will put you on your ass. If you don't like beer, then liquor up. There's no food here but you can bring in some from wherever. read more

I have been a fan of Spirit since day 1. I remember when they were making Not Your Fathers Root beer. I remember going to Jewel and other stores and stocking up as much as I could. Even when they started to get popular and hard to find. I stopped by their old location and had a grand time Now, in 2023, I am happy to see this place is popular. And I am a lifelong fan of Spirit Water. This is one of the few places where I can say... you can not go wrong with anything you try here and believe me...I have tried them all or at least attempted to try them all. Luckily, there are hotels nearby if you don't live in the area. I have never been a fan of Gin or Whiskey. However, I love both their Gin and Whiskey among their other product. I have met the man (or men?) who started this and I am a fan of him. Very friendly and proud of the what they make. Location and parking is easy to find. If you want to have a fun time, there is hotel less than 1 mile away although I do not recommending mixing the two together. Soon, my wife give us a beautiful baby girl. Not a traditional brewery. The creator of Not your Fathers Root Beer owns/operates Spirit Water. There are multiple flavors of "beers." They remind me of Meade. We liked the apple pie, bourbon pecan, strawberry rhubarb. There is also a distillery here and they have great cocktails! I recommend the maple bourbon old fashioned. Five stars for service alone. This place was recommended to us by multiple people, glad we stopped in! Allie was a great bartender, very friendly, attentive and explained the menu completely. Gave suggestions and a welcome drink sample. As others have said their menu skews sweet. Not my favorite style but there were enough options and Allie made some good suggestions on mixing it up. We enjoyed a couple of beer flights. Very light and bright space and welcoming. Could be a fun spot to meet with a group. Prices were fair and they are great about samples. I was excited to try our Spirit Water but after my experience I can start by saying I will not come here again and wouldn't recommend a visit. We started out with their free tropical drink they give you as a first timer and though the gesture is nice it tasted bad. No one in our group could finish it. The drinks are interesting sounding but flavors are to strong in most I tried and the WAY to sweet. I tried the root beer and it was like sugar water... can't be good for you. Now the reason for the one star is a complicated topic ... but let's just say this was the worst night for there attempted comedy show. You could not hear anything since the Spirit Water staff could not control the crowd from talking the entire night. When myself and many around us asked the staff multiple times to get people to not talk so loud around the bar and respect the comics. they said we already tried that and they won't listen.worst part was I spoke to the owner he handled my feed back extremely poorly. Basically telling me he's just a bar back and I don't care what I think. Less time drinking buddy.. more time running your business. Really disrespectful and unfortunately don't think I'm ever coming back. This brewery/distillery/tasting room hits the sweet spot for those who don't enjoy the taste of traditional beer. Besides in house made brews and in house distilled spirits in a huge variety of flavors, they also make what they call Spritzers (like a hard seltzer that is less fizzy) in a variety of flavors. I tried the black cherry as my first time visitor welcome drink as it was a safe bet for me being gluten free. There were six in our party so having flights was a good way to try much of their offerings. I tried their Cherry Brandy and Bourbon Old Fashioned which was very sweet without the bitters but strong. There are many types of seating options including an outdoor patio for when the weather allows. We sat together at two high tops and the waiter was friendly, attentive and good at explaining all the options. They don't serve food but you can order in or bring your own. The owner is the creator of the popular "Not Your Father's Root Beer". My only complaint was that after last call was shouted across the bar, we all were given the bum's rush out at 9 pm which we thought was too early for a holiday week when the place had many patrons. If you are looking for "not your normal tasting" beers or spirits,this is the place to try. Unique and robust flavors of beer such as French Toast,Orange Creme or Bourbon Pecan just to name a few. Dark, odd shaped parking lot that needs some lights. There are way better actual breweries and distilleries in the area. I would avoid this, unless you like bubblegum-flavored alcohol water and the ambiance of a VFW. read more

A very disappointing place I don't know if they serve food in here but the idea of the owner or friends of the owner allowing their big dogs to roam around as early disgusting the TAP Air here was very flat and not very good and this seems to be a very hardcore liquor place as all the people in the place appear to be very drunk and liquored up. I have been here a couple times now. While I do not like beer normally I tried their loaded tea the first time that was really good. The beer flight was also good too with ample choices. The second time I went tried their root beer flavored beer. However be aware they do not tell you their pricing on their menu or verbally. They base their prices off the alcohol percentage content. They charged me $18 for 10 ounces of the root beer flavored beer that had their highest alcohol content (they have 3 root beers to chose from). While it was good it was not worth it. However the ambiance is nice, this location is very clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They need to add food on their menu and also put pricing on their beer list or at least warn you what the pricing is if it's expensive. Based on my second experience with this place I give them 3.5 stars. read more

My wife and I went here for the first and last time. We were informed from the helpful bar staff that the beer flavors were a little "different" from the typical micro breweries. This was fine, just not our taste. We couldn't find a house brew that we liked, so we ordered a beer that's distributed all over. We were charged $10 for a pint of Alaskan amber. This price is ridiculous. There were no prices on the menu, but you could expect to pay $5 or $6 for that particular beer. $10 is absurd. read more

Was happy to find this spot but definitley a few oh's...the parking lot needs to get expanded/finished, had to park in the grass on a slope. The inside was very dull, nothing special, a lot of wood and plain walls. Got some weird looks from some of the employee's, made us a little uncomfortable. Also, seems like they're constantly in a rush even though it's a bunch of people just chilling. The "beer" is straight sugar water but very cool flavors that actually tastes like the names (it's a unique concept). You will get a headache with a flight so drink some water. Its not a typical Tap house the beers here are very sweet , didn't even see a menu for the Bourbon or Vodkas shown on the wall in the back of the bar area, I'm not sure if they even serve them. We left with a sugar buzz and went home with a headache, don't get me wrong they do have some regular beers on tap but the majority was sweet sugary type beers I'm sure some may like them but its not my cup of tea. Finally a craft brewery in my neighborhood. Nice clean brewery with a lot of open space. They have pinball machines and Pacman. Not your typical craft beers, but your sure to find something you will like. I had the lemon/lime beer which was very tasty. It went down way to fast for 10% abv. Did I mention that Spirit Water is also a distillery. Their Bourbon and American Whiskey are awesome. I encourage everyone to get a flight of beers and the hard liquor. read more

This place was so fun! I went for the first time last fall. I love flights and I did a liquor flight and was ambitious enough to start a beer flight that I barely got to finish. Unique selections and flavors that can't be had at any other place. I tried the Loaded tea and Apple Pie brews and was pleasantly surprised. The American Whiskey and Bourbon are super smooth and the vodka is probably the best I've ever had.
