Most of the store is dedicated to Halloween costumes. Overall, an inauthentic vintage store. They should really get rid of the cheap Halloween costumes and get more vintage clothes.

I got the shipping confirmation a little over a week later. That was a month ago. I tried for about a week to get in touch with her, as my dress hadn't made an appearance yet, and it took the threat of me reporting her to Etsy for her to come up with some sob story while promising me a refund and a quick, free shipment of my dress. WAIT, WHAT? She hadn't even shipped my dress yet! When I asked her why she sent me a shipping confirmation without shipping the dress, she stopped responding. I haven't heard from her since. I finally reported her to Etsy, but I probably won't get a refund since she conned me into cancelling my claim. What a terrible thieving goblin of a woman. I hope her business fails.

They had me go to a shorter line, which was for returns, when I had no return. I must have watched 20 customers behind me leave before me. A 15 minute wait for 2 customers ahead of me. I'll admit this seems to be an issue at most locations. I don't think this corporation will ever figure it out, and because of that I generally avoid these stores.

I wondered at why they opened another one only 5 miles down the road from the one in Latham. The sales associate said it's also smaller by about 10,000 sq ft, but I couldn't tell because it had the same amount of shelf space for the hobbies that I like, so it's no big difference to me. I can't believe that a Hobby Lobby would require more square footage than a Toys 'R Us! If you're a bargain hunter like me, you'll find some gems at steal prices in the clearance section, but since this is a new store, there aren't a lot of marked down stuff yet, as expected. One of my favorite hobbies is model rocketry and HL has a dedicated section stocked with a variety of kits, launchers and engines to outfit your own (scaled down) Cape Canaveral launch site. But alas, they worked out a deal with the manufacturer (Estes) to discount their line and the 40% off coupon can no longer be used on those products ("Your Price," yellow tag). I took home a rocket kit anyway and applied the weekly 40% off coupon to an electric slot car. I'll have to stop in here again in the future, when we're in this area again.

So I agreed and put the deposit down. Upon arrival, at 10:30 am, the doors are locked and lights were off. I called, left a message, and then I emailed wondering what was going on. At 10:45 am I recieved an email back apologizing saying the employee didn't know she was scheduled and that she is on her way and would be there in fifteen minutes, at 11 am. Let me remind you, 11 am was "not available". Incredibly unprofessional business. We left and asked for a refund of our deposit. Will never even think to come back and will absolutely not recommend to anyone.

There are always huge lines. The lines are channeled through the middle aisle of the store so as soon as you walk in you can see the long lines. It makes it depressing to shop here, and you have a built-in expectation that you will be stuck in line forever just to get a piece of craft wood or a bottle of paint. I don't know the solution, but I suggest not coming here in November or December at all unless you enjoy standing around.

If so, have I got the place for you! While myself and the majority of my bridesmaids are located in Texas, several of my girls are out of state - including my Maid of Honor in NY. My maid of honor opted to buy her gown from Apropos in Albany for convenience. The gown was ordered as the same time as the rest of the bridesmaids' in August. However, come mid-October all of my bridesmaids EXCEPT the one from Apropos are delivered and my maid of honor's dress is nowhere to be found. After advising her to call and check on the dress, my maid of honor was given the run around. Calls were either not taken, messages not returned, and Apropos was all around impossible to get a hold of. Finally, I managed to get a hold of the shop - probably because they didn't have my number on file. I was advised by a woman that she would contact the purchaser (the owner) and call back. Yeah, no call back. My maid of honor got in touch and found out the dress wasn't due to ship until December 1. WHAT? In what world does a dress ordered in August for a December 18 wedding not ship until the 1st? I called right away and got in touch with the owner who proceeded to berate me and raise her voice to me. She insisted that I just didn't understand how bridesmaids dress ordering worked, that these weren't off the rack dresses - they were made to order. As if with 7 total bridesmaids and my own gown I had no idea that these weren't stock items. When I clarified that yes, I understood the dress needed to be made but that my other girls had ordered at the same time and all received their gowns from the local shop in Texas she became defensive. She insisted that because of my maid of honor's size the dress had to be further customized. Never mind that my bridesmaids are all shapes and sizes and a similarly sized bridesmaid had received her order. When I told her, given the negative reviews on Yelp, Google, and The Knot that I was not entirely trusting when she said 'It'll be here!' she told me that the other frantic brides and bridesmaids who left reviews were 'crazy'. I'm not kidding. I'm almost certain that my maid of honor's dress was not even ordered until she called to check on it. Don't go here. Your wedding should not have this amount of stress and no one deserves to be treated so rudely.
