There's a large selection, but I always manage to ask for something that's not on the shelves. If they don't have it, they'll try to order it for you. If I'm at the Plaza, I'll stop in even if I don't need a book. You never know what you might find. No one rushes you. Browsing is expected. The store is peaceful and has a calming effect. I feel the same way after a yoga session only a visit to the Book House doesn't require the same exertion. Don't expect major bargains. The prices are usually as marked by the publishers. While I spend a lot of time reading online, I still appreciate the tangible. It's great to read a book and I'm glad that stores like the Book House are still in business. I believe it's important to support them.

The store is big and nicely laid out but sparse. Just mainstream selections. It's been a long time since I left a bookstore empty handed.

The selection seemed to range from best sellers to local authors, kids' books, and more. The building is historic and unique, and I'm really glad I got to check it out.

This is a seasonal bookstore open each Saturday during the Colonie Farmers' Market. It is open 9am…read more- 1pm. It is in the building near the pond (when facing the pond it is the first door on the left). This bookshop is run by the volunteers of the Friends of the William K Sanford Library (Colonie). The staff member didn't make eye contact and seemed uninterested in helping. What stood out most to me was the difference in tone and attentiveness shown to other customers compared to my interaction. I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, which was disappointing because I wanted to support a local bookstore.
