I've had such an amazing experience with Mosaic Music over the years that I had to share it. Rhys…read morewas my violin teacher for three years while I was in high school, and after graduating college I realized how much I missed my lessons. In my late 20s, I reached back out and started taking lessons with him again and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. Rhys is an exceptional teacher. He's helped me master challenging classical repertoire by composers like Sibelius, Mozart, and Mendelssohn, while also strengthening my improvisation skills and giving me the confidence to grow as a professional violinist. What sets Rhys apart is the environment he creates. He has a gift for making students of any age feel comfortable, capable, and excited to learn. He's patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping his students succeed. On top of that, he's incredibly funny, and every lesson is engaging, interactive, and something I genuinely look forward to. I can't recommend Rhys and Mosaic Music highly enough. Whether you're just starting out or returning to music after years away like I did, you'll be in excellent hands.

I had a very disappointing experience with this instructor and would not recommend her,…read moreparticularly to adult beginners. From our very first session, she made an unsolicited comment about my appearance, remarking that I looked younger than my age -- which felt inappropriate and unprofessional coming from a teacher. Despite clearly communicating that I was a beginner, she assigned me advanced pieces -- including Bach's Prelude -- and told me I was "too old" to be playing beginner songs. This was not only discouraging but completely disregarded where I actually was in my learning journey. I also reached out to let her know I was going through a period of grief and needed a more supportive, stress-free approach to learning. To top it off, she sent -- and then quickly unsent -- a message implying our lessons wouldn't continue, because her teaching style was "too fast" for me and suggested I find another teacher. Beware: the contract includes a no-refund policy, so getting your money back is not an option once you've paid. A good instructor meets students where they are, adapts to their needs, and treats them with respect regardless of age or pace. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of those basic standards. ----- Thank you for your response, Vivian. I want to clarify that you were my 2nd instructor, not my 3rd. I also want to be transparent with readers: I had openly communicated that I was going through a period of grief and asked for a gentler approach to learning. I believe that is a reasonable request, not an "over the top" or "childish" one. As a teacher, meeting students with empathy -- especially during difficult times -- is a fundamental part of the role. Assigning advanced pieces to a self-identified beginner, collecting $450 upfront, and then canceling lessons without offering a refund are practices that potential students deserve to know about. I stand by my review. Every word reflects my honest experience. I am genuinely grateful our lessons ended when they did -- it protected both my peace and my hard-earned money. I wish you well, and I hope future students are treated with the respect and compassion they deserve.

I have been sending my two kids (8 and 6 yr olds) to this music school for almost a year now and I…read moream very happy with this place! The school itself is really conveniently located with easy parking, and once inside there is a space to wait while ur child is inside learning with the teacher. My kids piano teacher is super nice and patient, and very thorough in the way she teaches. What I was most impressed abt was that although both kids started piano at the same time, in order for them not to be compared to eachother and also to avoid redundancy, she actually selected different learning materials customized to each child. This really helped especially my younger child who gets easily discouraged when she feels that she isnt doing as well as someone else( in this case her brother lol) I will definitely be continuing to send both of my kids here and plan to add on another instrument as they get older.

Jeff Harrison is a FANTASTIC instructor. I took lessons with him for over four years or so. I came…read moreto Jeff being classically trained previously since the age of eight, so I had a bit of a foundation before I began. BUT...don't let this discourage you if you are a beginner; Jeff handles ALL skill levels very well. He has an extremely efficient teaching method that helps pianists learn multiple skills in different categories/genres such as scales, chordal theory, music theory, pop music, classical, jazz, improvisation and others. My most favorite skill I learned from Jeff is chord voicing. This is a very useful skill that allows the pianist to play just about any popular song they wish as long as they know the chords. It's amazing that I can now listen to just about any song and I can play my own version of it. I am very thankful for this skill that Jeff has taught me. All in all, Jeff will make you a better pianist for a reasonable cost as long as you are invested into the art of piano. Jeff is very patient and knowledgeable and is open to developing you into a technical/creative pianist both physically and mentally. Anyone who wants to play the piano to impress others, or just for personal pleasure will find success in working with Jeff.
