I first called to see how long it typically takes to restring an acoustic guitar when 1 string is…read morebroken. The guy who answered said it could be done same day, or could take a couple days, depending on how many guitars are in line for repair. Thankfully he also told me the tech was coming in in a few days, on Thursday. When I brought it by on Thursday, I got to speak to the tech & show him the guitar. He explained the 2 options and what's included for the price. At first, I was experiencing sticker shock - I'm not a musician, so I didn't expect things to be that much! BUT I bought the guitar for my kiddo 5 years ago & hadn't done any kind of upkeep, so I bit the bullet & went with the higher option. Vincent, the tech, surprised me & got it done in just a couple hours. I was able to pick it up before closing time, which was a nice surprise for my boy. Man. I am glad I went with the top deck (something) option... it looked like a brand new guitar! He really did a terrific job - the wood looked all smooth & conditioned, the strings were tight & low, it was even tuned... my son was verrry excited about it! This is where we bought the guitar, and we'd definitely go back to this Guitar Center for repairs & future purchases! I love that they sell used gear too.

Never a bad experience going into GC. I always make my way to the acoustic room. The store is…read moremoderately clean & organized too. I feel like it takes quite a bit for time to get an associate to the counter to purchase things though. I also don't think the consumer should have to purchase a guitar in order to test it out with other guitars of similar quality. I am looking to buy & need to narrow it down, with all of them on-hand. I ended up buying my Martin from another location, but it was thanks to this location as well. It took many weeks of testing out different guitars in order to finally see which one was right for me.

My daughter attends a local middle school and is in the orchestra program with a cello loaned out…read morefrom the school. She recently tripped over her cello, accidentally, and nicked the bridge, which resulted in it loosening one of the strings. I thought it was a major repair but after getting it "diagnosed" by Janelle, the damage wasn't so bad. She assured me that it was going to end up even better after the repair- and she was right! The tech was able to custom fit the bridge and positioned it better than it was originally, giving the cello a better sound overall. What I thought was going to be more than $100 ended up being $70 and ready within two days. They're affordable and accommodating- I'm definitely coming back. The only downside is that business hours are from 10-5pm and closed on the weekends- so you basically have to adjust going into work to come here.

I took my sister's clarinet in January or so to get serviced since I got her a used instrument and…read morebrought it back in July with my other sister's flute that I also bought used and got it serviced; since after they repaired the clarinet the first time, one of the rods for the keys on the clarinet kept coming off. They replaced the foot joint pad on the flute, but my sister can't play it at all now since it can't open the key from the pad being too thick. They also charged us like $40 to "fix" the clarinet rod from falling and it still keeps falling off. I was recommended this place from when I was in high school, but I can't recommend going here for repairs since it seems like they'll charge you for doing a really bad job if doing anything at all.
