Dzien played at my maid of honor's wedding ten years ago, and I still remember the music was just on point. Our first phone call with him felt like talking with an old friend. Subsequently, most of the communication via email was through his team which occasionally took some time to respond, but was more frequent as the date was closer. We booked for DJ and bilingual host services as well as lighting for our venue. We were bummed that we couldn't book Dzien as our DJ for our wedding but his associate, Kevin, did not disappoint, he 100% delivered and brought the right type and amount of energy and atmosphere at the right time for our guests. DJZ Productions was the best investment we could have made for such an amazing wedding night. *Backstory - my sister actually hired DJ Dzien (owner) a little over 13 years ago for her own wedding and I remembered having a great time. Fast forward to my own wedding and when asking around for recommendations, my sister heard a rumor that Dzien had started his own company since her wedding and that was all I needed to know to reach out and ask for a quote. The team was always in communication with us, through email mostly but also over the phone and via video chat and was able to get everything we wanted, exactly as we wanted it. We had a very large venue space (Richard Nixon Library) which they had worked at before, but had mostly specialized in draping the room before lighting it up. We went for the natural look and their lighting technician hit a home run with how well the room was lit up and how it instantly transitioned to a party atmosphere when it time to hit the dance floor. Our DJ for the evening, Henry, was so nice and calm in helping us plan the music we wanted. He hit every note in terms of what style we wanted and as far as I could count, included all of the music we had to have and threw in some very spicy and interesting picks with our loose criteria - even satisfying the Vietnamese music bullet point for the older folks in the crowd. He was never off beat and timed all of his transitions exactly as they were needed, working closely with my wife to get her custom precessional song as she imagined it and remixing a few tracks for our MoH/Best man + grand entrance too. Our MC, Ryan, was phenomenal! He was very laid back in all of our planning meetings, and always double checked to make sure he had his accents right on our family's traditional names. He made sure to be present in all of his speeches, as in bringing all of our guests into the moment before introducing family, transitioning to games and of course announcing when the party kicked off! Ryan always had a bright smile on throughout the evening and even helped to escort our moms out of their seats for their respective dances - a class act! DJZ Productions offed much more than what we had wanted for our wedding and really made us think about what we COULD have had. If our venue needed an extra oomph, they could handle it. Booked fog machine, Lightning, draping, dance floor with aisle, 2-level staging, MC, and DJ! I initially booked DjZ Production for my 2020 wedding reception but COVID-19 had other plans. Thankfully (and grateful), Dzien was very accommodating and allowed me to switch date without fees! Even though I spoke with Dizen about my wedding reception three times, those three times were extremely productive working sessions (1.5hr-2hrs). Dzien provided feedback and advices to ensure the evening would go smoothly. Moreover, he invited my requested bilingual MC Ryan to participate in the final meeting to run through the evening schedule. Ask for Ryan if you want an MC to speak fluently in both Vietnamese and English! Everyone (from older folks to our friends) loved his voice and his energy. I wanted the ballroom to have a feel of grandness, Royal with a hint of extra-ness. And did Dzien deliver! Instead of a 1 level stage, I got the two-level stage. Also, my cloud effect was extra fluffy and dramatic! People kept commenting the grand look of the clouds and how it came out of nowhere. Talk about the smooth transition! Draping and lighting do elevate the ballroom and make the guests feel like they're not in a hotel (the usual brown yellow look) but somewhere elegant and Royal. Throughout the night, Dzien adjusted the uplights to reflect the room mood. I was honored and elated to have Dzien dj'ed my reception; Music selection was on point-- combined with our choices and Dzien's. For the grand entrance, each wedding party couple had their own music and Dizen was on beat with each couple. I couldn't come up with a catchy song for the food Parade so I tasked Dzien with it and it was perfect. Dancing started right after dinner service ended and it was so great to just watch the wedding guests danced until the last song at midnight. My guests complimented the ballroom setup and loved the music selection from dinner service to table toast to dancing. Moreover, they love that the reception was bilingual! Overall, I am beyond pleased and lucky to have Dzien and MC Ryan providing entertainment for my wedding reception. When we came in for our initial meeting to talk with Dzien, he showed us his studio in the back and the different services he offers. We had to reschedule our wedding due to unfortunate events and dzien was so understanding. It touched my heart when vendors can be kind especially during tough times. But back to the music, sound system, lighting, everything was BOMBDIGITY. Our guests could not stop talking about how good our DJ was and how much fun our wedding was! None of that muffled terrible sound systems that a few weddings that I've attended practically ruined their nights. Their sound was clear and loud and awesome! I don't know where to begin to thank Dzien and his team on making our wedding day so amazing. He went above and beyond our expectations. When we walked into the ballroom to see our "first look" before anyone else, we both were in shock about how everything turned out. To be honest, as a guy, I could care less about the 'draping,' dance floor, lighting, staging or whatever this wedding lingo was at the time, but his package created the ambience and it all does matter. My wife and I are music lovers, and let me tell you that Dzien knows his music so well and played some solid music that we asked for and within the genre. We even had friends and family offer to pay for his playlist! He even tweaked our Grand Entrance song to make it more hype! And boy was it one to remember (Nelly - E.I.) I didn't know all the other details could do so much to the look and feel of the room. As guys, we don't really think about this stuff. But after walking into the room and seeing pictures, it pays a very important roll. I told my wife we could save and budget anything she wanted, but I'm willing to pay more for music and quality. I knew for the longest time that both set of parents would demand a wedding reception to take place at a traditional Chinese seafood restaurant and not a traditional American venue. I've had to live with the frustration and sadness that I would not be able to have the 'dream' wedding that I've dreamt up all along as most of these places, if not all, are incredibly outdated in decor...until I found DJZ and Dzien. This team specializes in major transformations as they have high quality draping, lighting, and staging equipment that can't be found with their local competitors. They made our dreams into a reality and I am forever grateful to them for all that they had to go through to get there. Trust me, they stayed professional and powered on through even when there were stubborn venue managers getting in their way! I'm annoyingly specific and detail oriented and one of my biggest qualms with most of these so-cal draping companies was the fact that they would use sheer chiffon. What's the point of draping the place if you're still able to see everything? Because I wanted to mask the cheesy decor of my reception venue, I knew I needed something opaque and only DJZ had it! On top of that I also needed someone who also was just as nit picky as I was when it came to lines. Dzien was that person. Too many times I've been to weddings and I would get irked by the lining of the draping and piping, but this team cares about every groove and will ensure that your draping will look as seamless and flushed as possible. No shortcuts here. Aside from the draping, my dance floor, stage and lighting was 100% on point. It was so visually stunning and incredibly luxe! No one believed where they were at! This team transformed a popular 626 venue to look and feel like a bel air hotel banquet hall! People felt like they were transported. After the wedding was over I received endless compliments on the space and how elegant everything looked. I was also very lucky to have booked Dzien as my MC and DJ early on. He's so incredibly professional, funny and solution oriented. He kept the night going and made sure everything flowed seamlessly. My parents had last minute requests that could have thrown off inexperienced MCs, but no one knew anything was out of place as Dzien exercised quick thinking and problem solving to get the night back on track. On top of that everyone loved it when he started to spin. OMG our dance floor was so packed, I felt like I was in Vegas at the hottest night club on a summer night. Everyone was on one and having the best time of their life, dancing and singing along. I only wished the night could have gone on longer. 10/10 you will get what you pay for, if not more with DJZ! They made the party look absolutely stunning and shut it down with the music - through and through. There's a reason why they're the best at what they do, they don't settle for anything less than stellar. You can tell it's not in DJZ's nature to half ass anything, especially set up. Having DJZ be our emcee and DJ for our wedding was the best decision we made. From the initial consultation to the final meeting, Dzien was professional, down-to-earth and sincere. He listened to our concerns and answered every question; he never pressured us into making a decision without giving my husband and I time to discuss together. In addition, Dzien was very mindful of our budget and made us feel comfortable about every decision we made. He's knowledgeable about the industry and confident in his craft! Dzien took the time to talk about what past events were like and offered suggestions tailored to help the flow of our wedding. On the day of our wedding (July 2019), everything went smoothly. Dzien's team, Derek (our emcee) and Henry (our DJ) arrived on time to set up and made sure everything was in check. Everyone knew what they were doing and knew what had to be done to make the night successful. My husband and I were busy taking pictures and the DJZ team never interrupted us to ask any questions about setting up. The music was so amazing!! Henry was fully aware of our likes and dislikes and curated the most wonderful playlist throughout the event. Our guests absolutely LOVED the music and how it kept the energy high all night. Derek was an amazing emcee and managed the flow of the wedding seamlessly. He was funny, energetic and kept everyone entertained. We received many compliments from family remarking about how organized the reception was. Derek spoke in English and Vietnamese during the reception which helped a lot of our older relatives understand what was going on. We also got a lighting package that transformed our reception into an elegant dining space..then later into a nightclub lol. The lighting technician (we forgot to get his name!) kept the night fun and everyone, especially our younger guests, enjoyed the colorful lights. What a difference ambient lighting can do to add an extra dimension to your wedding! They also specialize in draping and their draping is absolutely breathtaking. We opted to not have draping for our wedding because our wedding venue was new, modern and didn't need much work to dress it up. One thing I was confident in and had no worries over was the lighting, draping, and dancefloor that was provided by DJZ ! I was a stressed out bride, worrying over every detail, but I knew DJZ's decor and design would all come through. It was everything we envisioned; your gorgeous dance floor, top notch draping, and the dreamy lights! Dzien's draping is nothing short of amazing because you can see the quality in it. My biggest pet peeve is seeing wrinkly and thin drapes. His is the total opposite as it was thick and just perfect. We chose a larger dancefloor and he was able to deliver and customize basically any size we wanted. Even the uplights, who know lighting can play such a key role to your wedding. I seriously cannot express how amazing DJZ Productions is! They are a team of professionals who are so accommodating and cater to your needs. I got married this past Saturday. We did the ballroom reveal and I could not be more impressed with the gorgeous draping, the way they wrap the stage white, white dance floor with our names on the decal, lighting, etc. They played our ceremony music and it was so beautifully done and they kept our guests entertained the whole night, DJ music by Kevin was as perfect as can be! OMG, what can I say about our AMAZING Dj! Not only is he a Dj, he is also an excellent bilingual MC. Pronunciation on fleek! He is charismatic, fun and a great entertainer. With only two meetings with DjZ, one in person and one on video call (which lasted an hour and a half), he understood the tone I wanted to set for the wedding and played the BEST wedding set EVER! My guests LOVED the music he played and many wanted play lists. Dinner music was romantic, covering a few 90's best love songs to more recent top hits including amazing covers, per my request. I was having dinner from our sweetheart table and had to send a text to DjZ to tell him how much he was killing it with the music. Being a music lover myself, I was definitely feeling it and my ears were loving every minute of it! We also went with the custom lighting package. DjZ even took the time to drive all the way to San Juan Capistrano to take a look at the layout of the venue. He knew exactly where to put lighting to make points of interests pop and stand out. He had recommendations on where lighting would be best and boy did it make a difference! The place looked BEAUTIFUL and lighting played a huge role. Our gobo was amazing! We even ordered the dry ice fog machine for our first dance and boy were we dancing on clouds. DjZ even did a remix of 5 songs mixed together for us for a special performance we put on at our wedding. He did such an awesome job mixing the songs together and I loved his enthusiasm when I mentioned to him what our vision was. Thank you for that! Boy was I sore for four days straight from all the dancing I did that night. DjZ knew how to keep the party going, playing an awesome set for dancing time. Dzien is the BEST and very accommodating in your needs. His work with draping, staging, lighting is absolutely stunning and elegant. For me personally he was a lifesaver. He literally stayed up with me til well over midnight working on my playlist understanding my like and don't likes. He made me a an amazing playlist for my whole cocktail hour 2 days before the wedding because I didn't have music for it! With his lighting, it really set the tone of elegance, and pictures came out on point. At first I felt the ambiance wasn't dark enough for the event, but when the pictures came through I realized the lighting was perfect for pictures because pictures is what captures the moments forever.
