It had excellent lighting, produced high-quality photos, and came with a great selection of fun props that everyone loved. At the end of the night, he handed us a USB drive containing all of the photo booth pictures, which was such a thoughtful touch and made it easy to relive all the fun moments right away. The audio guest book was also one of our favorite additions. After the wedding, he sent us all of the voice messages our friends and family left for us. We were talking to Matt at the same time we were booking our venue, and when we learned he was booked for the date we were thinking about, we pivoted immediately. Matt really understood the vibe we were going for which was alllllllll over the place lol (Hannah Montana, E40, One Direction, Morgan Wallen, David Guetta, NOTD, Cheat Codes, Gryffin, Backstreet Boys and so much more). I found Dj Solstice at a premier bridal expo last year. What sold me on booking with them for our wedding was two things: 1. they had the best quality of Photo Booth prints when I compared their Photo Booth prints with the other 4 photo booths at that bride expo. This was important to us since the photo book prints were our party favors, and we weren't giving out any other type of favor at our wedding. The Photo Booth also included digital copies to be texted to our guests, and the quality of the digital photos were outstanding. ***Bonus: all digital copies were given to my husband and on a flash drive at the end of the night. 2. The dj had a great presentation at the bride expo with slideshows of previous weddings and all the ways and things that they do to make weddings so fun! They have special effects with their packages such as sparklers, fog effects and a smoke gun to smoke show the dance floor. BOOK HIM NOW!! QUICK BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES!! We LOVED DJ Solstice, and so did our guests! I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Matt! We met him at the Bridal Expo and he was the first vendor we booked! We did not want to lose him. He was our MC/DJ, provided the photo booth, up lighting, and our neon sign. He provides WAY more, but our venue had restrictions and we could not utilize everything. In particular the "Dancing on the Cloud" effect. When I found out we could not use this, he was very accommodating and swapped it with an upgraded photobooth backdrop. This DJ really wants you and your guests to have a good time, and will go above and beyond to do so. Matt absolutely met every expectation and you can tell me loves his job. (I caught him dancing by himself behind his booth haha!) Now this next part is a HUGE example of a great DJ, and a terrible DJ, and why you want the great DJ... The Bad DJ- We went to a friend's wedding the week after our wedding, DJ'ed by someone else, and this DJ did not listen to my friend's requests at all! They provided him songs to play and he did not play even half of them. They love Frank Sinatra and had a few of his songs on the list. Their DJ played all the Sinatra songs back to back.. They did not know he would just press play and walk away and flirt with the coordinator the whole time. Second, they stated no song requests from guests, yet when guests walked up, he would play it! Later on we realized that we heard some of the same songs 2-3 times. The Great DJ (a.k.a) DJ Solstice- My Husband and I have a broad taste in music. We love Oldies, R&B, Rap, Club, Hip Hop, Alternative, Banda, Cumbia, Reggaeton, etc. And I was a very involved bride and made a playlist for each event and had every song picked for every moment, all very different. I sent DJ solstice all these playlists and he played every song we requested, and did it well. He abided by our must and do not playlists. His transitions were literally perfect. I've never been to a wedding and heard something like that before. Even with our broad taste in music, he was able to make everything flow so well. My husband loved it so much that he asked him if he could have the set list, which he did give us haha! Every song we requested for the ceremony, recessional, entrances, cake cutting, dances, last song, every request was fulfilled and on time. I danced with both of my dads and mother, and he was so accommodating to play each song just long enough as to not have the guests get bored with 3 different dances. Also, there was a particular Mexican line dance told him was a must and that he could not play it without me. When he decided it was right to play the song, he made sure to call the Bride over the mic so I didn't miss it! He would not let the song officially start until I go to the dance floor! Ugh we just loved Matt! The lighting elevated everything! It was in sync with the music perfectly and the colors were so vivid. We got our photobooth photos the next day! A month or so after the wedding our link expired and I was not able to download them, but Matt was very accommodating and resent the link to me. The photobooth was great and the photos came out bright and clear! My husband is 6'1 and hates having to crouch for photos, but the booth was adjustable and made it so easy for taller guests and big groups! You get to pick your own template and text. And for the neon sign you get to pick the type of lighting, and color, and comes with a mount and a remote for when you take it home. I have already recommended him to 3 of my friends who are currently planning weddings because I would book him all over again... and probably will haha. I'll leave my review with one last piece of our experience with Matt. Which should be the most telling: We had multiple guests come to us at different times during the night to say their goodbye's, but then 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour later, we would still see them on the dance floor! I walked up to them and asked "I thought you were leaving?" Their response: "We couldn't leave, these songs are too good." Matt was an awesome DJ! We had an Arab/English fusion of music and we were very comfortable with trusting him with creative freedom since he had plenty of experience. He's very flexible and adaptable from the days leading up to the wedding to the day of. I don't know if I'll be able to communicate just how amazing DJ Solstice was but I'm going to try. If you're even considering hiring him for your event stop considering it and absolutely do it. We hired him for our wedding and he was professional, attentive, timely, organized, and communicative. Our entrance songs were not just songs- it was "can you start the song at this point, make sure the party walks out at this moment, and then transition into xyz" and he KILLED it. I don't know any vendor who would be like "sure let me literally customize every song you want for each part of your wedding just so you get exactly the experience and feeling you're requesting". DJ Solstice undoubtedly met all our expectations, and provided the exact experience and vibe we wanted- I couldn't believe it. The music for our pre-ceremony drinks, processional music, MY music to walk down the aisle to, our cocktail our music, then our intro songs, and then the reception ALL were perfect- he hit all the points and executed the whole event flawlessly. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE VENDOR!! Where do I even begin... DJ Solstice was the first vendor I booked, over a year out from my wedding date. I actually found him before my venue, and refused to book certain venues that didn't allow me to have my dj of choice. Having good music was so important to me, I hate when DJ's don't know how to mix smoothly and you can hear songs clash. My husband and I met at a rave 15 years ago, so EDM and house music is our favorite. It was always my dream to have a wedding that was like a club haha, I wanted the lights, good rhythmic music and I just wanted to dance all night. Well Matt came through!!! I gave him a small list of favorite DJ's and some songs that we're my favorite and he handled the rest! Absolutely amazing!! My friends on the dance floor kept telling me how amazing he was and that they've never been to a wedding with a EDM DJ before. My photobooth vendor was also a fellow raver and asked for his contacts because he was so good! DJ Solstice was literally everything I wanted and more for my wedding, he even nailed a calvin harris/ummet ozcan mashup I asked if he could recreate. He's SOOO GOOOD! I cannot say it enough!!! What an amazing evening. DJ Solstice brought the party! My wife and I hired DJ Solstice and his team to DJ our wedding this past weekend and we were not disappointed. Matt was super organized and helped us prep fully before our big day to make sure we got the outcome we dreamt about. The music playlist was a combination of our Reccomendations, 'must plays' and his own Reccomendations. Everyone kept coming up to us throughout the night to tell us how fire the playlist was and how good our DJ was at mixing. His stage setup really tore the roof off the place, the lights, lazers, smog machine, dry ice, dancing robots. The entertainment was the most important part of the wedding for me and I am so glad to have worked with DJ Solstice. When it came to booking vendors, he was quick to respond through text (I also had to make sure he was available for our date!) for any questions. Our venue didn't allow sparklers so he was very kind to allow us to swap it out and add the audio book instead. The Photo Booth was also a big hit with lots of fun props and the pictures were such great quality. The package also came with a beautiful custom neon sign that you're able to take home along with files of all the pictures and audio from guests same day. All these extras really made it easy get all the fun stuff for your wedding. We had his DJ set up right in front of the dance floor and it was an amazing production with all the lights and lasers. When it came to actual music, Matt did not disappoint. I had extremely high expectations considering my husband and I have been to a lot of big EDM festivals/concerts. We provided him with list of songs that we wanted and also songs we definitely did not want, and he followed it perfectly. He had us on the dance floor for almost 3 hours and we loved every single song and transitions were seamless. Matt truly gave us the rave wedding of our dreams! read more
