SRG has it all. Service. Atmosphere. Food. Club like feeling outside. Fantastic views. I like the nice touch of them pointing out key locations (with distance) at the various compass points. The menu offered something for everyone. Some of the items were familiar, while some were interesting amalgamations. I was not sure I was going to like my Seared Scallops dish. However, the contrasting textures and tastes were a welcomed surpise. The only disappointment was the Key West Key Lime pie. Spinners Rooftop Grille is located at the Bellwether Hotel. There are two ways to get to Spinners. One is the elevator right in the lobby of the hotel (it is glass so you can see out) or the elevator that is tucked further down the hallway of the hotel. Depends on the time of day. We came for brunch (made reservations online and super easy) so the elevator that is in the lobby was closed and you had to use the hotel elevator instead. Once getting up to Spinners the lobby is super tight! The hotel elevator takes you right to the middle of Spinners - there are some high top chairs to sit and wait at the hostess stand but it got cramped pretty quickly. The hostess was very nice and seated us right away. The outer floor is what is moving to give you that 360 trip around the restaurant. We were told it takes about an hour to do a full go around. There are signs that tell you what direction you are facing and what cities are in that direction. Wait staff were great - very friendly and were on it with re-filling drinks and clearing plates. One staff was asking patrons if they wanted their picture taken as well. The brunch was a buffet style with different stations. No one was manning any stations though, the food was all laid out already. A ton of food with a good blend of breakfast, lunch and even dessert. To name a few options - French toast, frittatas, bacon, yogurt bar, bagel bar, pinwheel sandwiches, chocolate fountain, shrimp, cookies. Breakfast wise it seemed like they had everything except pancakes and waffles. All the food tasted yummy. Bathrooms are very small (single stall) and in the middle of the spinning restaurant. I would come during the day time - otherwise once the sun is gone you don't see anything beach/views wise. The views are awesome even when looking out onto St. Pete city. You are paying for those views and experience - but at least staff were on it with service and brunch was good and filling. Expensive? Of course it was! read more

I'm sure the sunset view would have been phenomenal...if we hadn't arrived late because our toddler was throwing a fuss about getting into her car seat. The restaurant was gracious enough to let us have our seats and very understanding of our situation. Best to make a day reservation then, otherwise you'll be treated to a 360 view of the Tampa skyline and darkness out in the ocean. If you do go at night, however, you'll still be treated with the charming candlelit vibe of the restaurant, replete with smooth music that will make you feel far classier than you really are. And the food is great no matter what time of the day you go. The steak is supplied by Creekstone Farms, so all my halal homies take note of a fine dining restaurant we can eat at! The filet minon was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The seafood medley, served in a rich, creamy sauce and flaky puff pastry on top was a fun spin on what could have been the same boring American seafood preparation that you get elsewhere. This dish was reminiscent of some Peruvian flavors. Our waitress emphasized that we couldn't leave without trying the coconut cream cake. We had no space left but couldn't say no; we're glad we didn't. The cake was subtly sweet and big on coconut flavor, which delicate layers of moist cake in between. Easter Buffet The atmosphere is the best on the beach. The views are incredible. This 360 degree rotating restaurant has views up and down the beach and of the intracoastal. Great Easter selection and variety of brunch and dinner foods. my favorites: shrimp, Burrata bruschetta, stuffed shells, mashed potatoes, bacon, biscuits and gravy, salmon, and chicken marsala. You are most certainly paying for the view, so if anyone believes otherwise you are fooling yourself. Yes, the prices are high, but I would not take back the view for anything. We ordered the filet and grouper with a crab cake and rice. The filet was prepared to order with good flavor. The grouper was good, but I wished it was cooked just a little longer. The rice was a perfect complement to the grouper. The crab cake was not good and lacked crab. Our server was pleasant and helpful in selecting my dinner as I was tossing between two items. read more

I have to say the service was good, very professional and attentive but that only goes so far. The wine selection was subpar, basic grocery store varieties. The food wasn't good. Salads were swimming in dressing making them uneditable. The tofu entree came out cold and partly because I think they just plunked the grilled vegetables on a plate with the tofu uncooked. Why not grill it and add some flavor. it was just a cold, slice wedge of water-packed tofu that seemed like it came out of a package and plunked on a plate. The fish was WAYYY over salted and the accompanying sauces were uninteresting. And then the side dishes for the table were tiny for the price. Basically a single serving of mashed potatoes for a $12 add on. As for the view you can't really see or make out anything after dark so not worth it. Overpriced and underwhelming. read more

Super cute concept in eating. High above this hotel is a restaurant that rotates. We took the elevator to the top. Parking underground was easy versus trying to snag a space in the open air parking lot. Our server was attentive and suggested various starter and main dish options. We started with the bacon wrapped around scallops. These were super huge scallops and the order came with 3 pieces for $28. We also split wedge salads and each ordered various entrees. I enjoyed Taste of the Sea- Linguini, Mussels, Shrimp, Bay Scallops in a cream sauce. The bay scallops were tiny but the shrimps were a good size. The mussels were also very small. The cream sauce was super creamy and there was lots of it. I was surprised that a restaurant I'd this quality didn't split our salads into separate plates. Instead we found ourselves cutting and portioning put our shares on to a separate plate. The server provided a complimentary dessert for our birthday guy. The view was amazing. Mine had just the right amount of heat. There was a party of eight next to us who were rather loud, which made it difficult for us to talk. Perhaps it's the acoustics of the building. All in all, it was a memorable experience. If I could rate 4.5, I would. The only reason it's not a 5 is due to the acoustics. The best thing about this place, and the only reason to go here is the view at sunset. If I were to bring a date here, I'd make sure we were good at conversation first. The dining room rotates very slow, and depending on where you are initially seated, you either get a spectacular sunset, a nice view of the shoreline having the sun set upon it, or the waiting area near the kitchen. It's a roll of the (expensive) dice. The server was very nice. The kitchen service started strong with the shrimp cocktail arriving in a timely fashion. The entrees took for.ever. An hour and 15 minutes AFTER she cleared the appetizer plates. The quality of the food is nothing special at all. The filet was cooked correctly and sat on top of a fresh vegi medley that looked light grilled. My pork "tomahawk" might have been 6 oz at most, but was also cooked correctly. It tasted good, was juicy, and a quality piece of meat. It was just small and unfortunately sat atop the same vegi medley, but mine were raw and cold. The side of Gorgonzola cream sauce made them edible. The side of brussel sprouts was ample for our table of two, but certainly not more people. They were the best part of the meal! 1 appetizer, 2 meat entrees, 1 shared side, no alcohol, no dessert, with tip, was over $160. read more

A fantastic local restaurant that has some of the best views in Tampa Bay. We made a reservation for 5 o'clock and were sat immediately. This restaurant spins with 360° views of a Saint Pete Beach. It takes about an hour and a half to go all the way around. You absolutely do not feel like you are turning as it is very slow. Our server was great. She gave good recommendations and was attentive and very friendly. We started with a bottle of wine and I had the Braised Lamb Shank: Fall-Off-the-Bone Lamb, Asiago Risotto, Red Wine Demi-Glace, Shallots, Wild Mushrooms. My friend had the Seafood Puff Pastry: Sautéed U-10 Scallops, Jumbo Shrimp, Sweet Peas, Cherry Tomatoes, Lobster Sherry Cream, Flaky Puff Pastry. My lamb was nice and tender very easy to eat just with a fork. The seafood dish was very flavorful. You can go sit at the restaurant but you'll probably need a reservation. They also have one floor down a lounge area with tables and bars that also has beautiful views. It's on the 12th floor of the Bellwether beach resort. There is only one elevator up and down so that's the only thing, it can get a little congested. There's parking available in the parking lot of the hotel. Great dining experience. read more

The view alone is 5 stars! I came to celebrate a few birthdays and was so happy I got to try out this place while in st. Pete. My table ordered: - Taste of the Sea (delicious/great variety of sea food) - Truffled Lobster Mac & Cheese (best bang for your buck and yummy) - Filet Mignon (good but probably wouldn't order again) - Butter Scallops (tasty but for the price there are better options in the menu that have way more food) It is all a la carte (no included sides) but some of the meals are large enough to share. Ask the server for bread when you arrive, they have a great variety. Our server was so sweet and helpful. My only critique is that the bathroom ran out of toilet paper and we alerted someone there and they just told us to use another bathroom downstairs. Also, the service elevator was out so my grandmother who couldn't walk down the stairs wasn't able to experience the beautiful sunset with the rest of us. read more

When I first entered I was amazed by the view. Lucky for us, our reservation was at the same time as the sunset so the view was fantastic. I must say the functionality of a spinning restaurant with a view is very appealing, not to mention the restaurant has been spinning for about 30 years. The service is top notch, I really don't have anything negative to say. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable on the menu, everything you're looking for in great customer satisfaction. It's hard to find fresh and delicious seafood but at Spinners I really had no complaints. I ordered the taste of the sea and it was delicious, the scollops, mussels and shrimp were not over cooked and it wasn't rubbery. But I think the dish that took the show was the lobster Mac n cheese because you get the most for your buck. Overall I definitely recommend! read more

Definitely recommend the crab cake appetizer and also the table portion of brussel sprouts were were a highlight. The scallops were delicious but again over priced. Would I go back? Maybe. Came in for an early Sunday dinner with the grandparents and was hoping to get a table on the spinning portion of the restaurant. Unfortunately we were told the reservations had already booked those all for the evening...we'll be fact checking this later BTW. We were seated with an excellent view at a stationary bar table and the wait staff was prompt with getting drinks in hands quickly. Of note, the Mai Tai was pretty good. Ordered the grouper blackened and thought all was well with the world. I was grossly mistaken. The grouper came out and appeared to have been glazed vs blackened. And then upon consuming said fish, I'm honestly still not entirely convinced it *was* grouper vs some other type of white fish. The sprig of broccoli and two bites of rice were disappointing as well. Then upon finally getting up to leave over an hour after arriving, there were still several of the tables on the spinning portion curiously vacant. This creates many questions. The primary one being...why couldn't we have used one of those tables? Did they have a bunch of reservations cancel? If so, why didn't they offer to seat us there after we got drinks and before we ordered meals? If not, do they not know how to stagger seat people efficiently around reservations? Regardless, the food & not getting a table on the spinning portion were disappointing. Would I come back? Pretty unlikely. Especially given the pricing to food value ratio being pretty poor. There were just too many other restaurants on the water with good views, better food, and at a better value. I guess if you are going to come eat here, despite the food quality & price, make sure you get a reservation in advance. read more

Had dinner reservations this past Tuesday night & it was chill. The view was nice. Took 1.5 hours for a full rotation. The bread app was cool. They ran out of steaks by 6:30 & out of scallops by 7. BUT NOW I'M DEALING WITH FRAUD. Our server - ISAIAH - was nice enough until he double charged my tip to himself (once on the final bill and a separate charge completely) and then he fraudulently used my credit card to pay his personal HSA bill. I did not use my credit card anywhere else before or after and we don't drink, so we were sober & clear minded the entire dinner. I am also extremely fortunate to have ZERO housing expenses - so it was not an overlooked charge on my end. My card issuer said that the only explanation would be someone or *the waiter* taking a pic of my card - not a gas station swipe. No one else had my card. No other businesses doubled their charges on my account. Don't risk it. Go anywhere else. If he's still employed & you get Isaiah, ask for another server. Hopefully, the restaurant handles this situation properly - will update. *This is not an embellishment or an exaggeration. Chairs were pretty worn for an upscale restaurant and bathroom needs a deep cleaning as it's pretty dirty and has fruit flies. Service: was overall very good. Server (David) was pretty on point and as expected for a fine dining Food: meh. Paid $98 for a dry-aged steak (special) that was borderline in-edible. Tough and no flavor. I ate only half of it. This place is really pretty and it spins overlooking the water. The duck was pretty good. The only thing I would upgrade with the truffle Mac and cheese is for the price please put truffle slices or truffle flakes on it and not just use oil. That was the only turn off. Disappointed . I have been to Spinners several times in the pas and had pleasant meals. This time I was highly disappointed by not only the outrages prices the the prices per entree quality. I normally would have gotten a steak but no way was I paying a min of $68. No, I'm not a tight wad...I am actually a foodie and would happily drop that if I felt it was worth it. I ordered the chicken. It was very moist BUT anemic looking. They should have browned it at least. The potatoes were bland and veggie way over cooked. Cocktail was served in a very small glass and weak. Next drink I got a dirty martini ! Wait staff was good. There was 5 in our party and we all felt for the money, the food quality and quantity was not there. Spinners Rooftop has great ambiance but you van get that by going to the bar a level down. You'd think that there would be some sort of parking accommodations or valet if you run a restaurant charging the prices this place does. It is a nice view once you get into the dining area, but it feels very dated and dingy. Service was great from our server, but drink, app, and entree prices are ridiculous for the quality and portions. The pan seared grouper special I had for my entree was literally a four by four inch piece of fish served over rice. All of our dishes came out luke-warm. Came here to give my mother a nice birthday dinner. The scenery and views were great!l the staff was pretty sweet while we waited at the bar for our table. The service was great until we received our food. Darlene was nice and told us about the specials and I ended up ordering them. However after she took our order she completely disappeared. We received an extra salad and she let us keep the extra one on the house, which was nice. But not once did she come back and see if we needed another round of drink or refills after that. Once the meal came out my dad's drink was empty and he wanted a a refill, but she wasn't around anywhere. We saw her a couple of times after we received our food, but she was talking to her other tables and didn't even bother to check up on us even though one of her other tables was right next to us and all she would have to do is turn her head and ask us if everything was fine or just just noticed that the drink was completely empty. I also wanted some salt for my food. I then asked one of the table bussers if we could get a refill and she said she would get our server. Five minutes later went by and the server still wasn't there and the Buser whose job is not to serve us asked us if our waiter came back yet and we said no. And I was super upset because that's not her job to wait on us. It is our servers job to wait on us. The busser then proceeded to get our server again. I also saw the busser talking to the manager whom looked at us and then turned around and walked away, so I'm assuming the manager knew that the drink had been empty for a while and she also didn't do anything about it either nor did she come by and ask us how our experience was going. Once we were all pretty much done with our food the server finally came over and I asked her for the tea refill, and some salt for the remainder of my rice. You could tell she was trying to be nice and friendly to make up for her time being MIA and she told us that the kitchen messed up one of her other tables food, which is why she was gone. But I did see her talk to all three of her other tables and not even try to come talk to us after we told her that we only ordered one salad so it's hard to believe that she wasn't just being bitter about that. Besides being completely ignored by our server, everything else was great about the restaurant. The views were nice, the food was good. The drinks were tasty. I just wouldn't ask for Darlene again and I would hope that management would be more aware of helping out their guest or maybe checking in with their servers if they're weeded so guest who are trying to have a nice dinner out could receive a high quality experience regardless of kitchen issues that didn't even occur at their table. read more
