I have been here on two occasions now! Both times excellent , they also improved on their menu items since my first visit so they definitely take feedback serious which was super cool to see . The food was wonderful both times, most recently we went for Mother's Day brunch and they had a lovely grazing table . Their cocktails are well balanced , their coffee was super . We had the same server twice , we was a delight . They whole team made sure our dining experience was top notch. I will say the " pay for parking " thing outside is confusing . The bill was not cheap so to pay $10 to park at a motel was a bit odd , I hope they change this . The ambiance is nice , and if you'd like you can even pull in by boat . read more

When I hear of a new spot, you already know that I am wanting to go to be the first to try. I have been so busy lately and due to how far I live from Luma, it took me a bit to get there. However, much to my benefit, they hosted a Mother's Day event with a per person cost. It was $59 a person, which I felt was a little steep without any drinks included; however, it did include a grazing app bar, a main course, and a dessert. Knowing that information, I would likely not come back again due to the food being good but not groundbreaking, the views being close to water but not 100% water ambiance, and lastly it was just not worth the price. Mind you the salmon was good, but you also have to know the ethnic flavors behind the food you are getting, or it might be a bust. Such as the creme bruele being flavored with rosemary. Our server was pretty attentive and made sure we had what needed, but it's not too hard with the Mother's Day set up they had. Overall, I am not sure I am coming back, but maybe one day I will give it a try for a traditional meal. read more

Saw when this opened and have been meaning to get over for a dinner. Had reservations so we got a table pretty quick. Very nice inside. Feels upscale but also had a distinct vacation vibe. You can see a lot of the groups where here on holiday. Started with the Cauliflower. Really good. Lightly breaded with great flavor. The honey mustard kicks it up. For a main we shared the Fried snapper. Great flavors but a little dry. Sophia suggested their jalapeno aioli. Perfect. Sophia was great. Very helpful and offered great suggestions. Wonderful new spot!! Delicious food, friendly staff, and great ambiance. My table order lots of dishes to share. We liked each one better than the last! Delicious, gorgeous atmosphere, and attentive and kind service. We got some appetizers to split that were veggies with a couple sauces they chose and each one was amazing. The sweet pepper sauce was my fav but the hummus was delicious. Very cute Mediterranean restaurant bar by the water. Lots of seating, beautiful summer time vibe. Got the muhammara, whipped feta, naan (recommended by the server!), whipped buratta, Brussel sprouts, and Rigatoni alla Norma. All of it was honestly really really yummy. Service was great. We sat outside, which was great, the inside was a bit chilly and very loud. The food sounded great but the flavors did not deliver. The whipped feta was runny and not a great flavor, the grouper tidadito was a nice mix of flavors but didnt wow and the carrots were a bit overcooked and watery. The halloumi was pretty good. The snapper milenase was OK as well, it did have the perfect fry. The Brussel sprouts tasted so unhealthy they were hard to enjoy. Drinks and service were good. Won't come back. read more

Soooo pretty wow a really beautiful restaurant. We had reservations for a Friday evening. Our server was great, super attentive. We tried soooo many things off the menu and they were all good -- maybe not worth the price -- but still good. My favorite was the snapper milenese. The mezze feast was... not a feast, and to have to order pita on the side was interesting (it really should come with it). For the price I think the plates were a little too on the small side, a little more food would have been perfect. read more

New upscale restaurant at the SkyBeach hotel. There were great options on the menu for all types of orders including this that are GF or other allergic issues. We enjoyed the shareable plates including shrimp, octopus, hummus, and many more. Our entrees were also shareable so we had the opportunity to taste various entrees including the short rib, steak, pasta bolognese. Deserts were also very yummy. If you have not tried this gorgeous restaurant and fantastic service (thank you Jamie) then you're missing out. read more

Had an amazing experience at Luma on their opening weekend! A friend hosted his birthday dinner here and it was a great choice. First of all the decor in Luma is gorgeous, I forgot to take pictures but I just loved the design of it and the lighting was nice. To start off the night, our server brought a couple mezze feasts on the house (assuming it was because it was only the 2nd night that the restaurant was open) which were platters with a bunch of dips and some pickled veggies. The hummus and tzatziki were great but the red pepper dip and tahini were not my favorite, and the pickled veg seemed to have the ratio of vinegar to water off a little bit (string vinegar flavor). I also thought the presentation could be better than just a bunch of splatters of dips on a tray, like Predalina's crudite appetizer which has each dip in a separate bowl and a nice bucket of vegetables in the middle. However, after this shaky start, EVERYTHING was a hit!!! We got some shishito peppers to share and I could not stop snacking on these salty/sweet/smoky treats. My girlfriend and I shared the pappardelle bolognese and the whipped burrata salad. The bolognese was solid with a nice rich meat sauce and fresh pasta, and the burrata salad was even more amazing. I had never had delicata squash and that went so well with the creamy burrata and sweet pops of pomegranate seeds. Our drinks were also great, and they capped the night off by bringing out their olive oil cake for the birthday boy!! Overall, I was so impressed with the fluid service and exciting dishes for it only being their 2nd night of service. Luma is definitely worth checking out! read more

Just had to try this new restaurant afer it dhowed up in my facebook. Came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. I was glad to see that they have valet, the ticket must be validated by your server. You can tip from there by beware that attendants only get a portion of that. Inside, the ambiance was great for couples or larger parties, and some visitors are from the hotel, so expect kids. It was actually a bit dark, but nice. The metal ceiling makes it a bit noisy. Now the why we are here: food. We had a feast of tapa-style "savors." All amazing: the grilled octopus was tender and with a sort of pesto over a bed of roasted potatoes and chorizo reminiscent of Spaniard cuisine. The crispy snapper milanese was better with sprinkled lemon on top. Just delicious. The salad had arugula, kalamata olives, and what tasted like lemon-infused artichokes. Just great salad! The fried cauliflower had a great tasking honey mustard. Just delish. The Moroccan spiced eggplant was subtle, overpowered by kalamata olives pieces and capers, over check peas with tomato sauce. All the flavors conspiring to hide the eggplant. Very healthy and great combinationof flavors. I dine out for this discovery of new flavors, or would stay at home eating ramen noodles from a styrofoam cup. Finally, the crème brulee: the newly burnt caramel on top had a branch of rosemary that left its mark as a hint of flavor that says: "hey, I put dime thought into this!" It also had a line of crumbled sunflower halva that worked well with it. And 3 blueberries to give you variety and acidity. The creme itself was well balanced without being too sweet. Overall, very impressed with execution. Service was attentive, with a smile. Well trained staff. Area for improvement: the menu is structured unconventionally and counter-intuitive: This results in unnecessary questions to the server. I would change "Savor" to "Tapas-Style" and then move some larger dishes to the Mains. Ie: pasta dishes and the snapper milanese for sure. But hey, it's subjective and this is such a small comment that it doesn't take away from our wonderful experience. Well done to the entire staff! read more

Food was fabulous!! A true Mediterranean menu with authentic flavors. Most of the menu is tapas-style, which we loved because it lets you try more dishes. The naan and pita were perfectly warmed and seasoned, and the whipped feta dip is a must-order to pair with the pita. The lamb was also delicious. The cocktail menu is fun and creative, definitely try the Midnight in Mykonos. The ambiance is chic and beautifully designed, and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend! read more

Such a unique venue and the food and service live up to the expectation created by the long wait for it to at last be open. We were a party of five people. We shared the Mezze platter, which was very good and then each person ordered their own dish. I personally was disappointed with mine. I ordered the whipped feta with pistachio nuts. The dish was way too salty. As a result, I did get to taste other people's food. The short ribs were excellent, the watermelon salad was very good, and the ziti was also very good. Next time I will order differently. The service wasn't superior but it was good enough read more

Went to Luma while driving through Southwest Florida. It's brand new and was only in its second day of operation, so basically just a crap shoot for us. In a word..... AMAZING...!!! Just checked out Luma at Sky Beach Hotel, which just opened, and it was a great experience. We sat at the bar and Brian the bartender was amazing. Super friendly, attentive, and really made the night enjoyable. The food is top tier with lots of excellent options. We ordered the poke bowl and the fried snapper, and both were outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. Service was good overall, and the interior ambiance was excellent. Modern, stylish, and very relaxing. Definitely a great new addition to Sky Beach and a spot I would happily return to. read more

Let's start with : my daughter and I had reservations for 8:45 on a Sunday night. The restaurant closed at 10pm. The restaurant serves tapas so additional plates are encouraged to share. Everything was going great until when it came to order more food we were told the kitchen was closing at 9:15, so we never got to order our entree ( which I was ok with since we ate a lot of the appetizer dishes); but we were hoping for dessert....i might also mention that the newlyweds seating across from us whom arrived later were treated to a free dessert and meet the dessert chef; yet we could not order dessert. The whole experience left me dumbfounded. The food was ok but not great and the closing of the kitchen well before the restaurant closed was just the topping on the absent cake. read more

We had a great experience dining here and will most definitely return this Sunday to open up their new brunch . I can not say enough about the attentiveness of the staff from beginning to the end of our time spent on property. Somebody is doing a stellar job hiring staff here . We noticed some service industry standouts we dined with at previous establishments we visit around the St Petersburg area. Sky Beach offered one of the best greetings to their lobby that we have had in a long time , thank you Brandan Max and Alex. The lobby , Luma and grounds look amazing . Ambiance was spot on , lighting inside and out was a vibe . Dimly lit bar atmosphere,lighted Palm trees, flowering planters , very comfortable. Our bartender Brian recommended everything we ate and the food did not disappoint. Standouts were the charred pulpo and short rib . Our beverages were amazing to say the least. My wife and I love Mediterranean food and were anxious to try this place. Parking is limited, so I recommend using valet and getting a voucher from your server. The atmosphere is great with a view of the water and boats. We chose inside, and they gave us a "relatively" quiet table. The service was decent, but it got worse as it got busier. Dirty plates were not cleared or replaced. Since most plates were family-style and shared, it would have been nice to have spoons so each person could avoid dipping their fork back into the spread. The cold Mezze were very good, as were the nan and pita breads. The Lavosh was only a thin cracker, and I would not order that again. The Brussels sprouts and roasted carrots were excellent, as were the meat and fish skewers. The only miss was the shrimp and bucatini, which were too oily. The desserts were good, and the olive oil cake was the clear winner. We will go back. read more

While the ambiance held promise, the service, quite frankly, sucked. Despite being asked about allergies and clearly stating that my girlfriend has a serious food allergy, we were nonetheless served a dish containing the very ingredient we had identified-l which we were still charged for, an error that could have been far more serious than inconvenient. It was our anniversary dinner and was disappointing at best. Compounding matters, we were shorted one of the dips included with our order and left to improvise when it came to transporting the remaining dips from plate to mouth. Our wine arrived at a glacial pace, and our check required multiple attempts to get right (the second and final version being $40 higher), adding unnecessary confusion to an already disjointed evening. That said, the babaganoush was genuinely excellent, and the hostess was an absolute gem--gracious, attentive, and the lone bright spot of the evening. The same unfortunately cannot be said for the waiter. One hopes that greater care--and basic attentiveness--might be extended to future guests. read more
