Our go-to pizza place any time we are in the mood for an Italian treat! Spinelli's is on our regular rotation; my wife is there at least a few times a month, which is high frequency considering we do not dine out all that often. Locally-owned, the staff is approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly to me, the food is made with care and love. The kitchen is open and you can see food being made if you stand at the counter. I always order pizza or calzones, and I've had all of them except veggie (I like meat with my veggies aka a well-rounded diet!). Keep it up the great work! read more

1 out of 5 -- Extremely Disappointed We used to really enjoy Spinelli's in Tullahoma, TN. The first time we visited about four years ago, it was excellent. Then we came two years ago and it was "okay," and my husband felt it was already going downhill, but I brushed it off as an ordering issue and decided to try it again this evening. Unfortunately, after our most recent visit, I can confidently say something has changed -- and not for the better. We ordered two large pizzas, and both were honestly terrible. I've had better gas-station pizza. The sauce tasted like straight tomato paste with nothing added, no seasoning, no flavor. The amount of oil on the pizza made it almost slimy. Our pepperoni pizza had very few pepperonis and somehow still managed to taste bland. That sealed it for us but then what prompted me to make a post was this... My kids went to the bathroom and found poop on the edge of the toilet. It wasn't very populated so it's not likely that it had happened recently. The back door where the employees enter and exit had shattered glass and looked unsafe. Even the sign handing inside had a dozen bulbs burned out. None of these things on their own would be a huge deal, but together they paint a clear picture: a place that once had promise now feels neglected, run-down, and like the original vision has been abandoned. We won't be returning. This was truly disappointing, especially given how good it was the first visit. I'm stopping by Papa John's on my way home. read more

We came here because a friend recommended them. They said they make NY style , since we are from NY , we would be the judge of that. Large selection of pizza & apps. We ordered a few slices which I have to say were enormous. The staff was SO friendly, the restaurant was very clean & cool murals covering the walls. The pizza was good and the crust was nice and thin, but wasn't crispy. That would have made it legit NY pizza. Next time we'll order well done. Customer service is spot on! The manager was amazing. So friendly and down to earth. He made upselling enjoyable. The place inside is very cool and hip. But the pizza is where it's at. Went in to an empty restaurant and ordered 1 slice of pizza. People then began to come in and order after me. I noticed others were getting their pizza while I continue to wait. The cook said there was an error and I'd be getting mine soon. It was over an hour when I went to the staff and asked for my money back. (As one slice of pizza was like $15!) The cook asked what I ordered and noticed it had been sitting in the window and proceeded to offer it to me. When I said I still wanted to be reimbursed she then threw the slice of pizza in the trash in front of me and acted irritated for having to reimburse me. I feel this could have been handled in a more professional way. I know errors happen, but this was handled tacky. I have always enjoyed Spinelli's food, but this experience prevents me from wanting to return. read more

I would not send a dog to eat at this restaurant! The experience we had today at this establishment was beyond absurd and it was all about the total disrespectful "service". First they couldn't make any sandwiches because the grill was down. We changed our order. There were lots of young people loitering around...maybe working but just standing and cussing. We ignored and waited for our food. The items literally came out one at a time. While we waited my wife totaled the items and it did not add up. My wife questioned charges that did not coincide with the menu prices, she was told that if the machine rings it up that way, that is what it is! She continued to question and ask for an itemized statement, the "manager" on duty then said the girl who tallied the bill was new. My wife asked for the difference be refunded and was given the owner's name and told us we would have to call them. We called and it went straight to voicemail. We continued to wait for our food as the "manager" continued to make snarky remarks to the other young people. We asked for the last items to be placed in a to go box since we are from out of town and needed to head back. This request was met with eye rolls and huffing and puffing. At this point there was only one other patron in the restaurant. When i asked for the dressing for our salad (which we requested and paid for) they said they were out of ranch dressing. More attitude continued culminating with this skanky girl (who they must have found under a rock somewhere) calling my wife a "c**t". Yeah, a worker in this place used that kind of language in front of my two children and the other patron. I asked for this person's name and she refused to give it. They supposedly voided the entire bill (because she wasn't smart enough to just fix the mistake). Regardless, we would NEVER return to this joint. As we left, the kids standing around shouted "b@tch a$$ n@%%&r" after we were out the door. I mean, this is a classy establishment. If I could give negative numbers to review, I would. Since I moved here over 10 years ago, I have always frequented Spinelli's for a slice or 2, especially before visiting the Regal cinemas just down the road on North Jackson. Over the last 3-4 months, I have noticed a steady decline in the business. I'm not saying the food has gotten worse, but they have become SEVERLY understaffed. I try and call 20-30 minutes ahead and no one answers the phone. I tried to call last night (February 4, 2025) at 6PM and no one answered. The hours said they were open but still, no one answered as I tried for over 15 minutes. I drove by at 615PM and it was dark. I had visited there one Saturday evening last month about 630PM and although they were open, there was one (1) small family eating inside. This should not be as a local hotspot for good food should be packed. When I spoke to an employee (unnamed), it seems as if the owner is not interested in the business anymore, paying very low wages and employees coming and going frequently. They advised that the phone system does not work properly, there is no call waiting feature so you don't miss calls, etc.. I can only hope the owner reads this and turns this place around because if not, it's not going to survive. read more

Got a pizza last week and it was great. Same pizza tonight is garbage. I mean, I'm literally throwing mine in the garbage. I would give 2 stars, but the worst thing any restaurant can be is inconsistent. Inconsistent is worse than bad, and they're both. The dough was barely cooked. The toppings had to be rearranged, the sauce was, wait...what sauce? It was cold when we opened the box at home. Before you start, we picked it up exactly when they said it would be ready and we live 6 minutes away. My guess is the weed the kitchen staff has been smoking all night is probably a lot better than this pizza. Save $30 (which is what this hot mess cost) and buy some of that, or a Digiorno's if you like terrible pizza. My mom told me the BOGO pizza place was better; I should've listened. read more

We tried Spinelli's yesterday for our first time. I did a large take out Pepperoni Pizza. I was met with a friendly staff member that welcomed me as I walked to the counter. The price was fair, and upon leaving the staffer went out of his way to hold the door open as I exited and was polite saying thank you for coming and we hope you enjoy your food. The pizza was wonderful and huge compared to most large pizzas. I will be back when I travel though Tullahoma again in the future. Great experience! read more

This used to be one of our favorite pizza places. Today is going to be our last visit. The employees are not even close to following cleanliness standards of any kind. They come in directly from smoking and start handing your food bare handed without washing their hands. All of them do this, because we witnessed this while we were there at the table. Had a pie today and it was literally 6 minutes from the pickup until i got home to bite into the first slice. I was told when I arrived that it would be a few minutes and it would be out, so why was it lukewarm at MOST temperature??? Also, the cheese and sauce was barely existent, and for this kind of price it needs to be perfect every time. This is my third visit, one perfect, two not good. The other times were both pizza. tHe over bad experience was no signature garlic butter on my crust and the slices were put on paper plates to go and the cheese stuck to the plates.... when i tried to retrieve my cheese the paper had melted into it. Well the pizza here is fantastic BUT there is a big BUT if you ask me. 'I've been here 3 times and each time I have been overcharged. I ordered a regular Stromboli with 1 topping each time. Each time I was charged $8.25 for the boli, plus $2.75 plus tax for my 1 topping even thoe the menu says it comes with 1 topping. And even if I was to be charged for my 1 topping the menu says $1 for regular size and $2.75 for the large. . So either way you look at it i was over charged. I feel I am owed a credit of $2.75x3. And lets not even get into how bad the wait staff is, someone needs to train them to actually BE wait staff and not come to the table 1 time every 20min. I can understand kinda when they come by and go "What do you want to drink" then not even bring you anything. Its easy enough to get up and get your own. But the timing between table visits is important. I dont have time to sit for 20+ min EACH TIME to place my order. IF I get my overcharge back I will come back due to the fantastic taste but I will order at the counter and sit down after. No more wait staff waiting for me. Stop overcharging and this place would be 3stars fix the overcharging and the staff issues and it would be 4 stars. But 1 star currently. read more

Spinelli's is the closest thing to New York that you are going to get in this small part of Tennessee. They are one of the best pizza places that I have been to in a long time. I have been there about 4 times and no disappointment. The worst visit was because of a function going on in the square. The house was packed. I can't be mad at them for making money.
