*Updated Review*
Seeing as I'm three weeks post-injury (and office visit) and that I got a response "addressing" my review, I'd like to make my own response.
Two facts. First, this place is over-priced, regardless of their claim. Full disclosure, at the time of my office visit, the "consultation/assessment" (no treatment, just him talking to you and making his diagnosis) was $85 in, and of, itself. Then, to actually get treatments, I was offered a package of 14 treatments at $70 a visit. So, they were hoping I'd walk out of there dropping over 1k right off the bat. The "reply" they so courteously offered to my review apologized that I felt so "scared" to ask for a manager, and claimed that if I would have simply asked to speak to one I could have gotten my bill knocked down to $60 a visit.
Yes. Well. Lemme just skip any subjective debates and straight up say this; even being LOCKED IN at $60 a visit for 14 visits pales in comparison to another chiro I saw locally who is completely welcome to a pay-as-you-go system, where they were charging me $50 a visit. At that place, the first visit was $65 and included in that charge was the initial assessment AND the first treatment.
So. Quick summary. Your joint? $85 just to get looked at, PLUS $60 per visit if you agree to a *package* of visits before you've even had ONE treatment yet, and HAGGLE that pricing with the manager, to boot. Or...$65 for first visit (including first treatment) and $50 for every visit thereafter, come as you please, at another place I've been to (in nearby area, in fact).... To me, that doesn't sound particularly competitive.
Secondly, I was astonished that during my assessment I was "diagnosed" with a soft tissue injury. I even asked him twice about it and he was insistent that it was a soft tissue-specific problem. Presumably, much of the treatment process moving forward (those 14 visits I would have been LOCKED into had I signed the dotted line with them) would have been based on his soft tissue injury assessment. Well, after three weeks -post injury- I can tell you that it wasn't a soft tissue problem. He completely missed that in his diagnosis, and (despite what is implied in the business's response) I even specifically asked about that point. He almost convinced me at the time...until now when I realize how far off he really was.
Based on what the business reply says it appears they wanted me to haggle with them for pricing, and also haggle and debate with them over their diagnosis. That's an INCREDIBLY unprofessional expectation and presentation. I guess if you DO go to this place, ask to see the manager and try to have a negotiation session over their pricing. It's apparently what they expect of you, otherwise they will imply you are a chicken.
I dodged a bullet by not going along with this place and their schtick, and I vehemently recommend others avoid them, as well. I had given them a 2 star review previously since I saw that they had some decent treatment options available (they claimed they did Graston, which I've had good responses to in the past for other injuries). I've since put it down to 1 after seeing their response to me and the thought of them having potentially been doing Graston on my calf for the past three weeks to no avail. There are better, cheaper places to go, folks. read more
