This place is a unique blend of ping pong and bar. The first thing you notice when you enter is that it goes directly into a staircase that you need to go down to get to SPIN. Once you are there, you are greeted by hostesses that will ask you about reservations, or if you are a walk in, if you plan to play ping pong or drink/eat at the bar. We were here to grab a quick bite while we take a break from PAX. I ordered the nachos to share with my other coworkers and it was decent. The red peppers on it had a decent kick, but the melted cheese at the bottom tasted closer to melted American cheese than a nice spiced up nacho cheese sauce. The rest of the dish was pretty good and quite large. My coworkers had a Cubano and a grilled chicken sandwich. They were both served with fries, and they both said they enjoyed their orders. The bartender/server that took our order was courteous. It does take a little time to get you food. Sitting at the tables, you are likely to get hit with 1, 2, 5 ping pong balls... yeah, it happens quite often. Not that big of a deal unless they end up in your drink or food. Came in after a Marniers game, ID's get checked at the door wasn't too busy, very cool place with lots of unique art. They had a live DJ, My Bf and I enjoyed playing shuffle board, giant jenga and connect 4. The female bartender working the night we came was extremely diplomatic ? Highly recommend reserving your ping pong tables ahead of time else you may not be able to bag one or may get one really late in the night. If they do have availability they do let you extend your ping pong table reservations for extra time. The music is great and it will be a fun place to have team events too. I wished we had a better time at Spin. I'm sure this place could be fun. Unfortunately, our 11p arrival on a Sat night was just not going to get us a table. That's not all, however. The service at the bar was just not pleasant. The guy behind the bar was snappy when one of the guys was just trying to order a beer. The bartender lacked any knowledge, nor any desire to be helpful. I went here after some sort of nerd convention where they were having an after party. Now, I don't know how this place runs on normal nights, but it was essentially a free for all when I was there. Which was fantastic because I think I paid $20 for a ticket which came with a drink. Essentially they had a setup with like 7 or 8 ping pong tables, equipped with paddles and balls. There was sort of an honor system going on so people would play for a while then switch off if someone wanted to get on the table. My friend and I essentially rotated through tables and played ping pong for 4 hours straight while drinking beers. What's awesome is they have dedicated people walking around to pick up balls and bring them back to tables so you can just focus on playing. Probably the most fun I've had at a bar in years, I don't know what that says about me. They had a DJ dance floor going on but IMO the lights were a bit too high and music was a little questionable (for me personally), but once again this was a nerd crowd so it's whatever. I probably wouldn't go here and pay to use a table since it's like $50 an hour but if you can find one of these hosted event nights it's totally worth it. read more

Words around the street is that there's a place that has ping pong and alcohol. Let me tell you the best part, you do not have to pick up your own balls!!! The staff has this cool net device thing that goes around and is able to suck up balls so it's out of your way. Imagine how annoying it is to chase a small bouncy ball around every single time, especially when you're not even good at ping pong to start with, so this was definitely a nice perk. SPIN is located downstairs of a building in downtown Seattle but you'll be able to see the sign and entrance as you're walking toward it from the street level. They do also serve food here. Great for corporates parties, normal parties, date, or just need to have an indoor activity to do during the cold months here (which is 80% of the year). After having a great time at the Regal Cinemas 4DX experience, I was hungry and I found this place, and it was a great decision! The nachos were fantastic everything on it was delicious I could've probably ordered another plate but I was stuffed. The Heineken drink along with my nachos was great together. This review is purely for the food experience here. This is probably one of the worst places you could ever eat at. We ordered the wagyu beef sliders, house fries, and crispy shrimp bao bun. The fries came out first, with an order of the hop pop chicken. We alerted the bartender since we hadn't ordered the chicken and she told us to just eat it since no else claimed it. Cool right? Cause it's free chicken and I love fried chicken. NOPE. The chicken was nasty and had zero flavor..at least it was free and I know never to order that. The fries were extremely dry and as flavorful as cardboard. About 10 minutes later, our crispy shrimp bao came out. There were three mini baos. It looked decent enough until I took a bite. The bao (the bun) was the best part of it, which isn't saying much. My boyfriend and his friend asked for some salsa and one of the servers went off to get it. 15 minutes later..still no salsa. I let our bartender know that we were still waiting on the salsa and a couple minutes later, she informed us that they were hunting for it in the kitchen. Now, I don't know about y'all, but if a place ever needs to "hunt" for a sauce for that long..you probably shouldn't eat it when they find it. They brought out two small cups of salsa that gave me flashbacks to the forgotten, expired cholula sitting in the back of my pantry. At this point, I'm really just praying that the wagyu beef sliders were going to be edible because I was starving. When the sliders arrived, I felt sad. One bite, and I knew there was no way in hell they actually used wagyu beef and if they did, I'd strongly suggest looking into their wagyu supplier. As I ate the sliders, I imagined I was experiencing what the Fyre festival attendees had gone through when they received their "gourmet meals" (remember those sad cheese sandwiches?). To conclude our lovely evening, our bill was around $40. We had a company offsite event at SPIN, and it was absolutely fantastic! Everyone had such a great time playing ping-pong, the food was super yummy with a wonderful selection of options for everyone. I would like to especially call out the team, specifically Stephanie and DJ. They were so incredibly nice, very helpful, always checking in with me to see how things were going. We couldn't have asked for a better team and event space! And I would be remiss if I didn't mention Heather's prompt communication, coordination and attention to this event. We came here right before 9pm on a Tuesday, which happened to be the only time of the week that you can get a table for just $9/hr (usually $39 or $49). We chose SPIN because we had just eaten dinner and still wanted to hang out somewhere, but we didn't necessarily want drinks. We ordered some delicious fries and some chocolate chip cookies (which they put in the oven right when we ordered them). It was super fun overall! You don't have to pick up balls at all, which eliminates my least favorite part of ping pong. There are even staff members who will play with you and teach you technique. read more

I like the vibe, they play good music, it's spacious and everyone is having good time. We had a great time and one hour of play time went really fast. Nice decor and good photo spots but there's not much more to it than a place to play ping pong that's fairly pricey. You play per hour by table. They do collect the balls for you but that's the only main benefit to playing here. There's also some free games like pong and jenga but nothing exciting. read more

With curated Seattle art on each corner. Bumping dance music. Tasty cocktails and unique food. This ping pong haven is a great way to spend an evening with friends. The tables are legit sized and very clean. They have baskets with balls that are being constantly refilled all the time so you'll never run out even if all you're doing is slap shot the balls across the room. Definitely keep your eyes peeled for all the art. Some easy to see stuff is foto worthy and hilarious. But other harder to find art is beautiful and edgy. All their cocktails were good. The three I had were all very well balanced and none of them too generic of taste. We were able to get a table within a few minutes after we chilled at the bar and ordered drinks. You get a table with your ping pong table. So we ordered food too. They had a DJ playing good music to keep the energy up. They come around and collect the balls for you which is super handy. Reason for 4 stars is because our server royally screwed up the bill since we paid at the bar for our drinks and had already paid for our table rental. Somehow ran our card twice and charged the rental fee a second time to another person. We tried to sort it out there but they gave up and just said keep your receipt and watch the charges. Ping pong, where have you been all my life? Actually, I grew up watching my family play and was always afraid to try. Now there's a place downtown where you can get some liquid courage while rocking out to some good music while you play. You cannot book a table in advance unfortunately. On a Saturday night we had to wait about an hour for a table. A downside about this venue is that there isn't much to do while you're waiting. Sure there are a few photo op areas, but other than that you're just sitting down trying to avoid getting hit by flying ping pongs. I was hit in the face a couple of times and it can hurt depending on where it lands. I think they need to have more staff walking around collecting the balls because when you're in the middle of an intense match you don't want to have to go searching for a ball. I know it's probably not the most exciting thing for the employee, but at least they have a cool net attached to a pole to grab them as they walk around. It got pretty hot after playing for a little bit. I can't imagine what it'll be like in the summer. They have a decent drink and food menu but it's a little on the pricey side. Be sure to have a lot of patience while waiting at the bar, because chances are everyone is there too since they can't get a ping pong table yet. read more

First spot I hit up on a girls weekend in Seattle. We found this place via yelp and it didn't disappoint. Located in a basement.. urban feel.. faux graffiti with a DJ blasting hip hop beats. There are numerous ping pong tables.. and I believe an hour/table is about $35. There are booths around the ping pong tables for dining-- we came for food and drinks. Craft cocktails are 11-12$ but are pretty small. The food is more bar style food.. burger, fries, sliders. We each got the spin burger--which I really liked because instead of coming with the typical BLT, it's dressed with Japanese cucumbers and tangy sauce. Burgers came out relatively quick and each was cooked to order. Although we didnt actually play ping pong, I still highly recommend this place. I am a big ping pong enthusiast and usually visit every ping pong bar location that I travel to. I happen to visit Seattle this past weekend and had to drop by their SPIN location in downtown. I was initially impressed walking in but left very disappointed. The art at the entrance was really nice. What a good start. I had to take photos of it to post on IG. My friend and I briefly chatted with the host in the front. We mentioned that we were visiting from Boston and just wanted to check out the place. We were welcomed in. I noticed a sign that mentioned that no one under 21 is allowed. I believe it was meant for the bar area at the entrance which was sectioned off but felt it could be confused to mean that kids are not allowed at all. This would be inaccurate since SPIN advertises they welcome kids up until 9pm. This was just a slight mark on my review, no big deal. I'd still go buy a drink there to see what they serve. The host mentioned there were 11 tables. One thing I did notice was that some of the tables were only 2-3 ft apart. This is way too close together for any real ping pong players to enjoy. Ok, fine, it's a casual ping pong bar. They may just want as many tables as possible to cater to more guests. Not everyone is going to rally 10 ft away from the table. The tables themselves looked pretty beat up. Sure, if they've been in business for a while, I guess that stuff will happen. These two things made it more of a disappointment though. There seemed to be some sort of corporate event there with people chatting at their seats. Some tables were playing and some weren't. You can see it on the photo I attached. My friend and I walked around and noticed more art so we took photos next to an empty table. However, the host approached us and mentioned that the table was reserved and we needed to leave that area. I thought there was some confusion since we were touching it and it seemed like we were using that table. I assured him that we were just taking photos near it. He stressed that this table was reserved. We said, ok, we'll leave the table but we're just taking photos of the art next to it then. He said no, we have to leave the area. I was shocked! Most locations wouldn't mind if spectators even mingled with players at a reserved table. This table may have been reserved but was clearly empty and no one was even using it. Instead of leaving the area, we just walked out the door altogether. No point in staying even for a drink. Huge turn off! read more

Great concept but could have better execution and service. It's a great environment earlier in the day when it's not completely packed, but feels crammed once all the tables are used. I also like how you don't have to pick up your ping pong balls so there's more time to play. The service from one waitress in particular left something to be desired -- she forgot our table's pizza, one drink, and took my feedback really terribly and became super defensive when I said that the drink I ordered tasted awful (it was a G&T with elderflower in it when I asked for a creative cocktail using the bartender's discretion as long as it contained gin and elderflower). The food was also mediocre at best; the fries were incredibly salty and the chicken was just okay. Checked the hours and it said open at 4 and we came in at 6:45pm. The hostess just kind of stared so i said "coming in for a drink!" So she told us to just go to the bar. We get our drinks and the place is completely empty other than a small group. We go to sit down at a table and instantly a hostess comes up and says "we're closed in this area you can't sit here." So I ask where we can go and she said "we're fully closed so you can stand at the bar." Every where is empty and the hours said 4 to open so I was a little confused. All in all, we chugged the beers and left. Didn't feel very welcomed. But the bar tender was nice!!! Two stars for him. Spin is such a fun concept -- ping pong and drinks! I will definitely be bringing my out-of-town friends here. Walk downstairs and you'll find the entrance. The interior of Spin is modern, clean, spacious, and brightly lit. There is a nice bar, live DJ, plenty of seating around the room, and around 10 ping pong tables. There are orange ping pong balls all around the room, and staff frequently walk around gathering the stray balls. There's a gold bathtub filled with ping pong balls next to the front door. (For all you Instagrammers out there.) If you want to play, you can reserve a table with the host at the door. It's around $8/hr per person for groups of 4 or less. We went on a Friday night and had to wait around an hour. They text you when your ping pong table is ready, and a server will take a card for the table. That server will check in frequently while you play to see if you want drinks or need anything. read more
