Dear Brian: I cannot…read moreeven begin to tell you how delightful the evening catering was strategically put out. The food was extraordinary and the servers were super great at getting folks to "splurge" and just have one more. Oh my gosh, most folks beamed with pleasure after tasting the Beef wellingstons, the lettuce wraps, the crab cakes, those pear tarlets! Some even carried on discussion on how healthy the appetizers were. Cheat A Little selections were really a hit! The greenery/decor made a nice festive touch that seemed to invite folks over to have a coke or a little wine and cheer. We had a live acoustic musician playing in the background, and the whole time was bathed in warmth and good tidings. It was beyond enjoyable, delicious, and great. I'm fairly new at the San Mateo County History Museum, so I don't have the years of experience that others might have to know how well adapted you and your company Cheat-A-Little are to these events. I am so pleased with myself for trusting you. High-five, a TEN, perfect score for you and your excellent catering business my friend! Under the Rotunda the set up, quality foods, and tall tables made it the finest, friendliest, most festive time. We are so so pleased. Thanks a million! Thanks from the San Mateo County History Museum staff!

On the day of our Vow Renewal, my wife and I were running late, and were pleasantly surprised to find that the catering staff had taken it upon themselves to carefully put out our centerpieces, which we thought we would have to do. They even packed them away at the end of the night. We got multiple compliments from guests admiring the service. The team was extremely friendly, packed away leftovers for us and other guests, and was on top of their game the whole night! Ali was flexible with our last-minute changes, and Brian even drove to multiple locations just to find the same wine we drank on our honeymoon (which was a hit) so guests could partake. We are so so pleased. They were easily the best vendor of the entire event.

Vegan options this time that I tried were grilled portobello mushroom, veggie burger, bbq beans, and then they also provided some fruit. The mushroom was decent, juicy and well seasoned, however veggie burger was quite dry and flavorless on its own. I probably liked the beans the best. My coworkers who had the meats also felt it was just fine. They also had some bread rolls which I was told were kind of hard, not soft.

We had a great experience with the whole Michi's Life team while looking for our wedding caterer…read more Everyone was incredibly professional, responsive, and generous throughout the whole process, and the food was both delicious and beautifully presented. What stood out most were all the thoughtful personal touches. They made an exception to host all four of us for the tasting (when normally they just allow 2) and even prepared a special yuzu salmon for us as those were our favorites. You can really tell how much care and creativity Raphael, Mike, Michi, and the whole family put into what they do. We ultimately went with another caterer that was a closer fit for the specific dinner experience we had in mind, but we came away extremely impressed with Michi's Life and were treated like family. Would absolutely recommend them and would happily consider them for another event in the future!

As soon as we ate the food, we knew exactly that we had to hire them! The food was amazing, they made us feel like we were eating at home with them. Yes, they were expensive, but they do ALOT and provide alot and during+after the wedding, we had so many people telling us it was the absolute best food they have ever eaten at a wedding. - They helped coordinate linens and rentals and helped us when we wanted to do a second meeting to confirm our selections. - They gracefully answered questions throughout when finalizing our menu, and the 2nd tasting was just as delicious as the first. Their service and warmth did not diminish one bit after we signed. - During the wedding day, mr Michi himself handed us a handroll right after the ceremony, and that honestly was one of the moments I remember vividly. - The late night snacks were much appreciated by people, and after dancing, people appreciated the extra fuel. - They even helped clean up afterwards! Even for things that werent part of dinner. Honeslty made our wedding the event of a lifetime and it wouldn't have been the same without the amazing Michi family catering us.

We submitted a catering quote request, and to our surprise, Richard called to discuss it. Unfortunately, the call was not the kind of interaction you'd hope for when trying to plan an event. It left us wondering--why is Richard the one calling back customers instead of Minh? I'm writing this in the hopes that Minh will reach out to me directly with a contact number so we can move forward and work with Aloha Catering. Otherwise, we'll need to start exploring other catering options. I will update this review once I hear back from Minh.

Sure, maybe BBQ isn't the first type of food you think of for a wedding but after we ate, all people talked about was how amazing the food was. I absolutely loved the potato salad, the coleslaw had a kick, brisket was melt in your mouth, and I saw a friend almost lick his plate clean from the ribs I actually called him out about it! Mark was also easy to work with and extremely flexible. Highly recommend Love & Smoke for your event - you will not regret it.

We had a mediocre experience with The Market catering…read more We struggled to get in touch with them to place our initial order for a small event. We sent multiple messages and voicemails that went unreturned for several days. Just as we were getting ready to change plans and look for a different vendor, we heard back (they had been out on vacation). We decided to still give them a try. (Note: the owner response below suggests that they responded within 24 hours, but that doesn't match our experience - I think this misunderstanding is due to the fact that two of us coordinating the event had reached out to the Market . My initial inquiry submitted on their website went unanswered, and so a couple days later my colleague tried to call and left a voicemail. Eventually my colleague was able to connect with them to place an order. I actually never received any response by phone or email.) The food arrived on time, but the delivery team forgot part of our order. We tried calling both of numbers on the invoice associated with the Market, but they both went right to voicemail. We eventually got a hold of the delivery team and received our missing item halfway through our event. The portions we received were very small compared to the description. For example, "32 tea sandwiches" seems like 4-5 normal sandwiches sliced into 6ths - wild to pay $2.25 for each tiny sandwich slice. The quality of the ingredients seemed mediocre for the price (e.g. the bread seemed like basic bagged sandwich bread, sliced into uneven rectangles). The chicken skewers - the most expensive item we got - were surprisingly small. "Watermelon feta skewers bites" were about a third green olives (not listed in the description) which our guests found unappetizing - we would not have ordered this item if that ingredient had been disclosed. Salad was 99% plain mixed greens (the amount we received runs about $6.99 retail for organic mix at a specialty store). On the whole, most things seemed like we could have gotten similar-or-better quality items for a quarter of the price through Whole Foods. The plating for items was nothing special - again, supermarket take-away platters look about the same. It's really hard to justify the price we paid for the items we received. All in all, we found the service, food quality, and presentation to be unimpressive and overpriced, and the communication/delivery snafus made our event prep more stressful. Perhaps we caught them on an off day, but we were expecting more given the glowing Yelp reviews. Based on the experience we had, we'd recommend working with a different caterer.
